Guest CityFan 06 Posted 20 February 2016 Posted 20 February 2016 90% of fans would love it. Sadly the club will never do it. This is the only way we'll have an all standing KOP in an all seater as well. Derbys owner did it. A few other clubs listened to fans and did it too. Didn't know Derby swapped their stands around. Did they do the equivalent of swapping the Family Stand and Kop? I know their away fans are in the corner now though.
Strokes Posted 20 February 2016 Posted 20 February 2016 They will never move the away fans, they are there so the police can escort them away easily if there is any trouble.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 20 February 2016 Posted 20 February 2016 An all standing Kop would be immense. Especially if near to L1 too. But, not everyone will want to stand in the Kop which is understandable. Might do a design later of how I'd like it to look. Not promising it to be great though!
Len Finsbury Posted 20 February 2016 Posted 20 February 2016 Can someone explain the benefits of all this expensive pissing about?

Dawko Posted 20 February 2016 Posted 20 February 2016 The sun always shines on the Family Stand, it must be a lot warmer there.
Countryfox Posted 20 February 2016 Posted 20 February 2016 Read the original posts, if you are incapable of that then you look like a right nob with your "smart ass" reply. As for the OP. The whole point of swapping the Kop is to be next to the away fans so if they are thinking of moving the away fans to accommodate swapping the kop then all it will mean is the away fans get bunched up in the far corner and have to walk through packs of fans to get in and out. Initially it would mean L1 was next to the kop so maybe amplify the singing sections, but the L1 boys are there because the away fans, so they may end up moving. So it makes no sense. Got a headache trying to follow that one Capn ! ... The only swapping I'd do is to swap my seat for the one that Woy always sits in so I could sit next to that well smart looking lady that he always sits next to. I could even do the stupid smirky smile for the sky cameras when Vardy scores.
TrentFox Posted 20 February 2016 Posted 20 February 2016 Great idea. Let's build the (widely accepted) best atmosphere in the league ....... and then dismantle it. Makes perfect sense.
promised land Posted 20 February 2016 Posted 20 February 2016 The sun always shines on the Family Stand, it must be a lot warmer there. One reason why I don't ever want it to move, although it never will anyway. But when it's hot and sunny, they cook in the family stand up to around half way up the stand. The last thing I want is a head like a beetroot walking out of the ground.
jammie82uk Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 It will not change The King power was designed to copy the layout of filbert street, the away fans was supposed to be in the same place as filbert street in between the east and south stand but the police wouldn't allow that to happen for reasons already pointed out on this thread hence why they are in the opposite corner
Great Boos Up Posted 21 February 2016 Author Posted 21 February 2016 Just keeping up the fine tradition of foxes talk. Yes slate me, but it's been nearly a year since this was discussed and nearly 100 years since we have been in this position. But this summer an expansion may happen and it could affect the most season ticket holders on foxes talk if the visitors are swapped. My own work shows below. Sorry if you are bored by my discussion but SK1 rules the roost here! It's more a relevant question than ever before.
Great Boos Up Posted 21 February 2016 Author Posted 21 February 2016 Please, no more. Thanks for your witty and inciteful retort. Didn't catch were you sit. Bentleys roof?
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 What's SK1 got to do with a stadium expansion or moving the family stand? Neither of which show any sign of happening soon...Edit: Sorry, miss read your post. I don't think the away fans would be moved in either eventuality! Hopefully if we do get a second tier we somehow split the away fans between the two tiers like it is at Villa. Makes it much harder for the away fans to sing in unison. Every little helps...

I don't know.
Strokes Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Agree - it will not be allowed...but are the Kop actually more likely to start trouble with the away fans these days? I don't know. It's nothing to do with which part of the ground is most likely to cause trouble with the away fans, it's simply because it's the quickest and easiest place for the police to control and remove the away fans from harms way.

SystonFox Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 The kop is always the south stand if I'm not wrong? Always
wattolcfc Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Please close this thread. I met with the club prior to the 2007/8 season after an online petition I started got quite a lot of signatures and I had an article published in the Mercury. It will never happen because of health and safety. The away fans are housed there, like a poster above stated, as it's easy to get them in and out of the ground, then back to the train station easily. There are also cells under the corner to help detain any trouble makers - I was told. There were a few other reasons too but I can't remember them off the top of my head, but the club will never change this.
davieG Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 The only way they'll move the family stand would be if the East Stand expansion included a new shop down towards the kop end.
