Swap the Kop

So it's a possibility that this could happen but could/would involve swapping the away allocation end too.

If the Kop and away end swapped would we not have the same argument?

(all second hand hear say so please don't ask me to verify).

Just asking why the passion to move ends?

The only way I think it could work is to keep the away end and expand the stadium (a little) to allow both Kop and away at both ends, or does that create another set of issues?

Can we please most of the supporters most of the time and help to support our team?

We should get rid of the away section and instead reserve every 12th seat for an away fan.

Read the original posts, if you are incapable of that then you look like a right nob with your "smart ass" reply.

As for the OP.

The whole point of swapping the Kop is to be next to the away fans so if they are thinking of moving the away fans to accommodate swapping the kop then all it will mean is the away fans get bunched up in the far corner and have to walk through packs of fans to get in and out.

Initially it would mean L1 was next to the kop so maybe amplify the singing sections, but the L1 boys are there because the away fans, so they may end up moving.

So it makes no sense.

Just give away teams 1000 tickets and charge them £71 each.

50/50 for me as to whether I'd like to see this happen. L1 and SK1 (presumably with Union FS) would be closer to each other, which as a result means it would be easier to sing songs in unison.

But as there are currently two drums in the stadium already it wouldn't work having two drums together in such close proximity. You'd have thought one would be removed if this was the case.

If the away fans are moved, as well as the Family Stand, it would mean they are still together and next to one another, causing the same apparent issue just in a different area of the ground.

If this ever was to happen, I personally feel the best solution would be to expand the current Family Stand, adding an additional tier onto it. Move the Kop fans into that stand which should provide the same number of seating as the current Kop capacity at the moment. Keep the away fans where they are and then you have L1 and the Kop either side of the away end. Also, this means we would have a double decker Kop like from Filbert Street. Now if that were to be the case I would warm to the idea a lot more.

This is probably highly unlikely though as I understand the East Stand is the easiest to expand on so the club would start with the stand first I'd have thought.

Apparantly they are swapping the kop and the family stand, moving the away fans to sk1 corner and shifting l1 to where g block is...errr

So is g block gonna be called g block or l1?

Will the kop still be called the kop or will it be called the family stand.

If you sit in sk4 (as it is now) what happens when they swap the kop to the other end does your brain auto go to p1 (as is now) or do you end up in the family stand?

We all live in a blue and white family stand

The only thing is with moving both L1 and the away fans to the other side of the ground it will still be difficult for Union FS and L1 to sing together as we would on separate parts of the stadium again.

If the club are really keen on doing this then for me like I posted above, the best solution would be to expand the current Family Stand, adding an additional tier onto the stand, move the Kop into there, and keep the away fans and L1 where they are. This means L1 and SK1 could sing together as one and there would be less trouble with the current Family Stand supporters as they would be on the other side of the stadium. Again, this is unlikely though.

90% of fans would love it. Sadly the club will never do it. This is the only way we'll have an all standing KOP in an all seater as well.

Derbys owner did it. A few other clubs listened to fans and did it too.

Just a thought, but has anyone every thought of swapping the Kop and the family stand?

Nope. But how about, here me out on this, swapping the family stand with the Kop? I know, I know it's a little over ambitious but I reckon it may just be a stroke of genius on my behalf.
