Sionnach gorm Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 My quote comes from Kick it Out development manager Troy Townsend: "Are there seriously no managers around that we have to be rolling out Ranieri again in the Premier League? the "rolling out" was what got me. As though Ranieri was some archaic buffoon meant for shelving purpose only.
Swarles Barkley Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 "What a fvcking dreadful decision. Might as well start planning for the championship". Made by myself. (I feel like such a twàt)
Sionnach gorm Posted 7 March 2016 Author Posted 7 March 2016 "What a fvcking dreadful decision. Might as well start planning for the championship". Made by myself. (I feel like such a twàt) Was clearly thinking pundits or people in the public eye. You were not alone on this forum.
NoFuchsGiven Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Was at camping and heard the news, kind of flopped to the floor and muttered "fvcks sake" feel like a twat too now!
Donut Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Pretty much everything Gary Lineker said around the time of the appointment The negative reception Claudio got to be honest at the time was baffling, and now it just looks hillarious.
Tuna Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 The perception of him was based on his spell at Chelsea as the silly tinkerman who couldn't speak a lick of English, and the hilarity of his recent spell at Greece. If anyone bothered to look at his record in the last 15 years, its pretty good.
fuchsntf Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Yes my son and I said FFS give him a chance, we lambastet ex-players and fans alike..!! BUT not in our wildest dreams, could we envisage..THIS jouney. Hoped a chase for top 8 not more. The worst quote, I dont think, there really was one reall 'worst' one, they were all rubbish. Panelists, egg on their faces, being made to think on future opinions.G.Crooks is just lost and locked in an dimension, searching for Dr who. Ex-city players, including Lineker disgusted me. Alan Smith is still shocked. Longer the season has gone, Shearer, Thompson, Tissier, various monday morning pundits, Then, big Sam, Bilic, Pullis, Monke, +++ many I forget, who have wished city nothing but success.
erlee Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 really ,, i mean who likes to see Lineker in his jocks (or naked) on TV ??? surely not me
WesMorganGod Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Not the press, but me! myself!. I remember thinking at the time that we have a made a huge mistake and Ranieri is old and senile and not the right man for us, I honestly thought we would get relegated and be in big trouble and he would probably get sacked half way through the season. I was so so so so so wrong, 100% wrong.
Rincewind Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 If we have a bad start next season he may be sacked and a few on here will be calling for his sacking. I was not sure at the time but thought he could do enough to keep us up when we could look around again for a manager to take us to the next stage. Amything worse than top four next season fans will want him gone.

Amything worse than top four next season fans will want him gone. Id like to think most fans would realise this season is literally as good as it could ever be, i mean EVER be, EVER. Next season, there will be additional champions league games, there will be Pep Guardiola and more than likely Mourinho who will revitalise the manchester clubs, there will be Spurs who will continue to grow as well, and Everton who could spend big. And i havent mentionned Chelsea and Arsenal. Anyone who could possibly want Ranieri gone after he has given us the best season the club will ever have in its entire history, please go and watch someone else.
Rincewind Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I agree. I think any decent manager needs time anyway. Even the not so decent ones. You cannot transform a team in a few months.
FireFox Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 "Nailed on to only finish 2nd now. Ranieri always finishes 2nd."
mozartfox Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 His appointment is why the King Power Group is so successful. Our Owners and the Board (and Monks) know what they are doing. Unlike the Grade 'A' crack-pots that run the likes of Newcastle/Villa/Cardiff/QPR et al. We should never forget how lucky we are.
Bedford Fox Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33519662Some good ones at the bottom of this
one F in Fox Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 If so many people thought appointing Ranieri was a bad move, how come some had the wisdom to actually put money on us to win the league? Where did that come from?... and why didn't they tell me?
bald reynard Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Micky Quinn,on Talksport last week, who said Leicester would be in the exactly the same position in the League now, if Nigel Pearson was still in charge !
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 John Cross from the mirror at the start of the season on Talksport. "Leicester will finish bottom" When asked why by Alan Brazil "Because Ranieri is a disaster!!" What a div!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I think Mark w's comment about us finishing bottom takes some beating.

Mark_w Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I think Mark w's comment about us finishing bottom takes some beating. Yeah but I'd like to clarify that that wasn't about us appointing Ranieri (which is what this thread is for), it was about us sacking Pearson. Still lots of egg on my face though.
Nalis Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I remember defending the appointment of Ranieri to other non Leicester fans criticising him. My main counter arguement against people saying he failed to win the league with Juve / Monaco/ Chelsea / Roma was that he doesnt need to be good enough to win a league or qualify for the Champions League; it was to be good enough to keep us up. But looks like I was wrong as well!
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Think he has far exceeded what even he's biggest advocates thought he could achieve, he's effectively stuck two fingers up at absolutly everyone (some more than others obv)
Leicesterpool Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Robbie Savage said a few things I can remember, though he as admitted he was wrong.
