Surely he won't have any meaningful input whatsoever by Monday anyway regardless?  What Leicester really need over the weekend is for Sunderland to win to make our task a tad easier.  That would mean that Newcastle, whoever is in charge, cannot come here and sit for a 0-0 draw as much as they could if Sunderland drop points which plays in to our hands somewhat.

EDIT

Except they don't play  lol

i think this still counts as another manager leicester have got sacked.

they clearly didnt want to risk him against us cos a 5-0 defeat would demoralise them further.

This!

He wont, but player morale might be boosted and they might want to catch the new managers eye.

From BBC website;

1432 RB has arrived at Newcastle to discuss taking over

1437 RB confirmed as new manager

5 minutes?? Not much of a discussion  lol

The one dynamic it will change is the Toon army will probably be in happier spirits than they would have been if McClown was still in charge. The fans will be more up for it so may inspire the team a bit more. If there was any complacency on our part, which I doubt anyway, that will be eliminated. If we play well we should win,l but it will be harder now the brolly wally has gone.

I thought NFP was nailed on for this job?

If Newcastle get relegated I think it will be Pearson. Benitez only there for ten matches if they go down, three years if they stay up.

Everyone is going on about the bounce factor, but shit doesn't bounce no matter how hard you throw it.

Depends whether you eat a lot of rubber.

It shouldnt matter.

We play on Monday so assuming he doesnt do any kind of training today just media work and they travel on Monday, at best he has a couple of days with an unmotivated, unconfident, out of form group of players who probably have an eye on the exit door.

If we play to even 60% of our ability, we should have enough to get a result against these. That isnt me being complacent by the way, its just I cannot see any way at all in the time frame given that the teams mindset would change at all.

Last I saw they had barely sold any tickets and we had released a load of tickets in the away end for home fans.

It is away on a Monday and they are a laughing stock, Rafa's appointment may galvanise them slightly but they are hardly going to be the 12th/13th/14th man Newcastle will need.

If anything it will focus any of our players that may have started seeing this as a gimme.

I rate Benitez, although his stint at Napoli for instance was marred by the influx of Spaniards and Brazilians and a team morale that wasn't the highest.

I wonder whether three days is enough time for him to really settle in and thoroughly assess the squad, I bet he'll be on the sidelines on Monday simply observing. Tactics and starting XI will likely be down to the assistant manager.

You've got to take each game at a time and win the game that is ahead of you. For us, nothing has changed, really.

Schteeeeeve has been a joke for years now, however, his treatment this week has been diabolical by a joke of a slub with a **** of an owner. We need to smash these clowns!

Rafa is a good manager. I don't think that he'll have much time to get them organized for this game. Any relegation team will fight. It will be a hard fought win. The next ones to play Newcastle should be more worried.

Which is Sunderland.  Promises to be a decent watch that one!

rafa will try to sort their defending out... but i doubt he can do anything with that bunch in the few hours he'll have with them. the main thing will be that the players might find that extra percent to prove themselves to the new manager, both in training and matches.

As long as our boys take this game seriously - which i know they will - we should put in a good performance and hopefully win.

Newcastle are a shambles from the top down. However this change couldn't have happened at a worse time for us. Regardless of any couching work he does with them the players will still be out to impress him. Which means they should perform better.

I have a feeling that there not bad of players, Just that they wouldn't play for McClaren.

Honestly the panic from some on here is quite incredible.

Perhaps instead of clappers being handed out on monday the owners should dish out a load of miniature white flags?
