Claridge Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 I'm growing my first beard Any advise or tips on keeping it from looking scruffy And should I shave the neck bit toward under my chin ? You are male? If not a well trimmed beard is preferable, unless you are german
leicesterlad1989 Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Water it every day and get plenty of sunlight to it.
Ozwin Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 If you shave it up to your jawline/chin you will look an absolute tool.
Wymsey Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 As someone once said to me, 'shaving your beard is like playing golf in the dark, you will lose your balls'.
Nalis Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Go for the Craig David / Jason Derulo line from sideburns to your bottom of your chin and back up.
SpacedX Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Nonsense - go for the full on Ben Gunn look - think Jim Morrison circa 1971.
Countryfox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 I'm growing my first beard Any advise or tips on keeping it from looking scruffy And should I shave the neck bit toward under my chin ? Mrs CF usually plats hers under her chin ... bit like a viking.
Samilktray Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Javes & Overend do lovely beard products and there local lads who run it too. Keep my beard feeling and smelling lovely.
Alf Bentley Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Here's an array of fine beard stylings for you to select from, as modeled by The Dubliners in their heyday:
Dan Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 I've grown one for the first time ever and it's basically Scholes-ginger.
Countryfox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 I've grown one for the first time ever and it's basically Scholes-ginger. You poor bast*rd !!
Buce Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 The first (and last!) time that I grew a beard was during a summer spent trekking in the Pyrenees. I was rough camping, and only dipping into 'civilization' to re-stock with food, so I didn't see a mirror for ten weeks. When I eventually did, I was horrified to find that what I imagined was a handsome, sun-bleached blond beard, was in fact bright red and I resembled ZZ Top.
sphericalfox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Here's an array of fine beard stylings for you to select from, as modeled by The Dubliners in their heyday: Luke Kelly's beard was weak, his fro though was strong.
ajthefox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Make sure you dry it properly so you don't get beardruff and get some oil for it.
Steven Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 I'm growing my first beard Any advise or tips on keeping it from looking scruffy And should I shave the neck bit toward under my chin ? Don't forget to grow your hair for the top knot.
Alf Bentley Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Luke Kelly's beard was weak, his fro though was strong. The Dubliners were my first musical love as a kid, listening to their albums in my parents' collection - and my first gig when I was still in primary school (1969 or so?). Still love them now - Luke had a wonderfully powerful voice, and Ronnie a very distinctive one. I've no plans to grow a Dubliners beard, though. Had a beard for a while when I was about 19 and looked a proper prat as it wasn't an impressive growth. Have never considered it seriously since.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 I've grown one for the first time ever and it's basically Scholes-ginger. Mine does that, and has bald spots. Looked ridiculous when I grew one
Fox92 Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 Advice? Don't grow a beard. I had my facial hair long but it annoyed me. Nowadays I just have a bit of stubble so it's not a beard but it's not clean shaven.
GaelicFox Posted 26 March 2016 Author Posted 26 March 2016 Well I lasted a week I looked like I had a Mick hucknall's head of hair hanging off my chin ! Too ginger !!! Bloody Irish genes !
GaelicFox Posted 26 March 2016 Author Posted 26 March 2016 Don't forget to grow your hair for the top knot. Being Irish Baldness as you know is the sign of a lack of pikey blood , comes in handy round these ways as you know well Or maybe this is the look the OP needs.... Mossy Keane ...
