Phube Posted 24 April 2016 Posted 24 April 2016 Excellent communication with the crowd. That's what I was gonna say. If a ref clearly explains his decisions to the players and crowd (I.e he's got the ball, that was a shove etc!) it instantly calms your protest!

Makes mistakes like all refs do but he's definitely one of the better ones. Part of the reason it was an easier game to referee is that the referee chosen for the game commands respect. Moss is totally incompetent and has been proven so time and again. Clattenburg is a top class referee (yeah, it's all relative). And surprise surprise the game was handled without incident.
