sdb Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Even he can't get away with that one. Dier possibly out vs. Chelsea too? Could be very handy for us.
MC Prussian Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Hope it's more than three games. Two games would be alright. Fair is fair.
Fox92 Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Two games would be alright. Fair is fair. Two games for punching a player in the stomach?
Jimothy Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Two games would be alright. Fair is fair. Vardy got that for a dive and a naughty word. Gotta be at least three for violent conduct. People talk about players setting examples, well I'd rather a kid called me **** than punched me in the stomach.

rico Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Why is it referred to as an 'alleged act of violence'? Seems blatant enough to me!
Carl the Llama Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 No it wasn't Presuming you managed to post in the thread I pointlessly started before the mods kindly merged it, the title was a reference to Mohammed Ali as ripped off from another poster in another thread.

Off.And to be honest it's not a punch in the stomach is it, it's a pathetic wild swing yacob didn't even feel the media have blown it up. Three games will be the punishment unless he appeals, fully deserved, either way lads done for the season as pathetic as it is a swing out is a swing out. What I am confused about is how Kyle walker kicking someone is fine but this warrants investigation.

I totally agree , Alli and Vardy have been rightly delt with but it is strange the things other players like Carroll calling the ref a cheat and walker have managed to slip away without punishment though.

Vardy was sent off for a dive, one game ban. He then swore at the ref and got a second game. That's two overall isn't it. So Vardy served two games for diving and swearing at the ref. MC said two games would be fair for Alli, so that's why I responded. A player can't serve the same ban overall as Vardy when there's violence involved, so I argued it should be three, which we both seem to agree on so I have no idea why you argued my point. And yes the punch was weak, but you can't, however pathetically, strike another player. Alli being a wimp doesn't absolve him from what he did, or are we going to only punish strong players for violent conduct?

This is from the report in The Guardian: "There was no reaction from the West Brom midfielder, who played it down after the game. “I don’t remember it,” Yacob said. “It was nothing. What stays on the pitch … ” The flashpoint went unseen by the referee, Mike Jones, and his assistants and indeed it went unseen by everybody in the stadium. But it was soon spotted from the live television footage and circulated on social media." Carragher and Souness were making it seem like Alli had given Yacob a piledriver to the stomach, when it was more like handbags at dawn.
Thracian Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Sneaky retaliation? Perhaps he'll be known as "Back Ally" in future!

Vlad the Fox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I was surprised at a few of the antics by spurs, in such an important game you'd think they'd be focused and not get drawn into some of the risky things they were getting involved in, it was as if something had rattled them.

It was the cacophonous chinking of bottles being filled around the stadium.
Jimothy Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Any news on this? It was only an hour ago the deadline passed for him having to respond! We'll probably hear tomorrow.
Nick Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 He'll get a couple of games I would think but not 3 - He'll play against Newcastle.
