JayPittardBlueatheart Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 MUSA IS GOD AWFUL. Would rather have Nugent back. Please, no. How can the 23 year old top goalscorer for the Russian champions who was refused to leave for anything less than his release clause in January because he was required by his team be GOD AWFUL?

Have you actually seen him? Pace, but utterly lacks any finesse, can't pass, plays with his heads down like a headless chicken and utterly unable to use his left foot. He is not Prem League quality, he's a poor man's Schlupp
BenTheFox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 This is a comment that'll come back to bite me on the arse, I'm sure. But Musa kinda looks like an expensive version of Lloyd Dyer.

STUHILL Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Know very little about this guy but he can't be as bad as some people are suggesting if he is valued that high and captained Nigeria at 23 He is certainly no mug! Maybe overpriced but we won't know for sure until we see him in the Prem. Schlupp has very little else apart from blistering pace and look how destructive he can be on his day! This is worth a go, especially if Vardy goes.
MIAMI_FOX Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 MUSA IS GOD AWFUL. Would rather have Nugent back. Please, no. Hmmmm ok . I'll trust our wonderful scouts that have watched hours upon hours of Musa play I'm sure against a few minutes that you've seen him on you tube no doubt
Guest Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Curious as to how many of us would have signed any of our current squad based on their previous achievements or youtube clips?

He is not Prem League quality, he's a poor man's Schlupp Have YOU actually seen him play? Or are you just getting an opinion from some YouTube clip put together by some randoms? The first goal here alone so touch and good finishing with his left...https://youtu.be/t-6i7e0o-M8 There are more then enough clips to show good composed finishes, calmly put away. He's nothing like a Schlupp who is just a hit and hope player.
WigstonWanderer Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Curious as to how many of us would have signed any of our current squad based on their previous achievements or youtube clips? Actually I remember seeing a video of Vardy in his earlier years and he looked fantastic (to me). The compilation is on YouTube. Of course I only got to see it last year, but I would have thought that anyone watching it would have been impressed.
mozartfox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Thank God Walsh does not select transfer targets from snippets on YouTube. Please all calm down, if Walsh thinks Musa is good enough then I respect that.

I honestly don't see how anyone can conclude he's comparable to schlupp; he looks better technically with the ball at his feet and looks comfortable in front of goal, he scored and assisted most in a team that won the league.I'd hazard a guess at the very least some people's opinions are seriously flawed and their judgement questionable. He's by no means a world beater but I'd hazard a guess our scouting team have seen something over and above what YouTube has to offer. With the inevitable departure of Vardy we need another striker additional to schlupp mk2
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 With Vards looking all but gone we need this lad and Slimani badly. GEEEERRRRIIIIMMMMIIIINNNNNN

He's nothing like a Schlupp who is just a hit and hope player. I've seen a couple of Nigeria games during the World cup, and a friendly match recently and he caught the eye because of his direct style, but I thought he was wank. When we got linked with him, I checked to see if it was the same Musa on Youtube. Nigerians seem to hate him and think he is terrible, like most England fans view on Jordan Henderson. Not a good sign. Sorry, but pace isn't everything, you need more in the Prem League and this guy is a classic hit and run headless chicken - not a replacement for Vardy by any stretch of the imagination. I trust Steve Walsh but I think this may be a case of Musa being a 2nd or 3rd choice of more talented players like Slimani
Babylon Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 The World Cup he scored two worldies in against Argentina? England fans think Drinkwater and Vardy are crap, do we trust their opinion based on seeing them a couple of times a year, in systems not tailored to them? I just don't see how you can form such strong opinions from so few games, in friendlies and international games. Especially ones comparing him to Schlupp, when even the YouTube clips show many composed pass type finishes. Something I don't think I've ever seen Schlupp do. Vardy didn't really look a natural finisher for us until this year. He missed more then his fair share of sitters previously and even now he's not great one on one going straight through, I still wouldn't call him a particularly composed finisher. I don't think Strikers have been our scouts strong point here and at Hull. Only one has really paid off in Vardy. Debates rage about Okazaki and Ulloa and whether they were worth what we paid, but Ranieri has been brilliant at playing to each persons strong points and I'd bet he can get the best out of someone life him. Especially with him being able to play two positions.
dannyjpage Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I just watched a YouTube video and to me it looked as though his strengths are pace similar to Vardy but also a good first touch. What are others opinions of his strengths?

What are others opinions of his strengths? Just watched a YouTube summary, and to my untrained eye he looked a potential Vardy replacement. I think there were a couple of instances of him chasing down lost causes which is the other aspect of Vardy's game that is so important. Certainly has masses of pace.
Mezeker Posted 6 June 2016 Posted 6 June 2016 if we sign this guy over Sofiane Boufal i would be very upset. Especially if the later can be gotten for less or even money.
apple987 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 This Russian defending probably suggests why Musa is so good in the Russian league!
johnny the fox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 This Russian defending probably suggests why Musa is so good in the Russian league! we only scored a free kick against them...
MPH Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 we only scored a free kick against them... Probably shows how crap we are in front of goal to be honest...
foxes21 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 This Russian defending probably suggests why Musa is so good in the Russian league! by that logic musa must be better than kane, sterling & lallana so gerrim in! (mind u its not hard to be better than sterling & lallana but yeh)
dpjfox Posted 18 June 2016 Posted 18 June 2016 A recent interview with a Russian sports correspondant on Monday Night Callin sugessted the player would fit into our team pattern and indeed was keen to sign, in fact the only thing to be finalised was the fee pay structure, as usual we seem to struggle to get deals over the line. From the rumours i have been reading there are 3 players ( Musa Deeney Mendy) who have made it clear they want to move here yet we still seem to struggle finalising deals (i know its not July yet, im not panicking just frustrated)
