Daz93 Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 How can we agree personal terms when we've not agreed a fee??? Surely we shouldnt even be speaking to the player until a fee is agreed? The transfer can be agreed before the fee, allowing the player to open contract negotiations. Must be the case here. I imagine most of the fee will be agreed, it's simply a case of particulars regarding bonuses, sell-on clauses, etc.
Fox 4 Life Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 http://m.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-transfer-rumours-Personal-terms/story-29370045-detail/story.html Personal terms agreed according to the Mercury They are just quoting the French press. Nothing new, not like the merc are ever at the forefront of info anyway!
ALC Fox Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 It appears he's Nice's captain as well. Team full of leaders!
thybluefox Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Kante, Drinkwater and Mendy in the middle of the park And then Gray - Vardy - Mahrez as a front 3.
MPH Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 How can we agree personal terms when we've not agreed a fee??? Surely we shouldnt even be speaking to the player until a fee is agreed? Unless of course the selling club has given us permission to talk to them. It can be a common tactic for a selling club who know they are going to lose a player who wants to leave- wait until personal terms are agreed and wehen they are, add another million onto the asking price/// not that many buying clubs will back out at that stage...
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Would much prefer Sissoko from the toon. But hopefully another steal, just don't put in any bloody release clause!!
foxes21 Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 opinions of Mendy from the OGC Nice forum, his nickname is Grandpa. http://www.ogcnice.net/showthread.php?t=194225&highlight=Mendy&page=3 a fearsome warrior who gave everything for his team and his teammates.Great Grandpa !! Mendy made a mistake because if he is supposed to replace Kanté who is significantly better than him, especially on the offensive contribution How many points earned because Mendy stops the enemy attacks at the last moment, 7-8? Without him we would not be where we are today Mendy is a player of great quality. Those who doubt his qualities haven't watched the same games as me. Grandpa in 3 years has only missed four league matches. In fact when he arrived he was not the most gifted player in our revival. His progress in three years is impressive: he is not afraid to have the ball, projecting forward, he is the first receiver of the team. He does not hesitate, but I understand that despite everything still has to work on his long ball game. Grandpa gives 100% all matches. No injuries, Mendy has never been suspended, this year only 2 yellows. Despite his size he remains strong. It's clear. grandpa is a machine Mendy passes back alot, easy to get stats like that second most likely to be in france team, after ben arfa Inler is still under contract with Leicester? If so 12-13M + Inler it can do
Vlad the Fox Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Hard worker, good fitness and injury free. Fits our profile.
Fox 4 Life Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 It does make me laugh that people write this guy off because he isn’t Kante. Kante wasn’t Kante before we signed him, hardly saw other clubs queueing up to sign him.

Kante wasn’t Kante before we signed him, hardly saw other clubs queueing up to sign him. Kante was Kante before we signed him, he did exactly what he did this year, last year... Also it is well documented that Marseille had a gentleman's agreement to buy him off Caen with the money they received from Payet . The fact that they needed this money first allowed us to come in with a higher bid that Marseille did not want to match
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Can somebody please explain why this Nampalys Mendy who nobody has seen in action will be any better than Matty James, who we already have and who's played well for 3 seasons but is being let go without giving him a chance post-injury?
IainHumewasalright Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Would much prefer Sissoko from the toon. But hopefully another steal, just don't put in any bloody release clause!! Sissoko is 'poor'. Source - I live in Newcastle and work with many STH's who would drive him to his next club
Riot Van Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Would much prefer Sissoko from the toon. But hopefully another steal, just don't put in any bloody release clause!! please tell me you're joking... the guy is absolute trash
Nick Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Sissoko was trying to tout himself to Arsenal yesterday Mendy I'm pleased about looks a proper little powerhouse. I am concerned that Drinks and Kante will receive lucrative offers before the end of the window. Hope Mendy is an addition not a replacement for either of our startin DM's.

I've actually seen him play a few times. Regarded as one of the best CMs in the French league and possesses a similar reputation as kante before be signed him. Plays with a lot of maturity for a 23 year old, hence why he's captained Nice to 4th in French league. I think he would be a great signing, even if Kante goes or not. I'm a massive fan of James but we've bypassed him im afraid. I'm sure he will become a solid PL CM in the coming years and I wish him all the best.

I'm guessing Mendy is at the level we want to be, rather than where we were, and is probably less injury-prone. I like James, but we can do better now. Besides, I trust Walsh and his scouts on their track record. The club could sign Cameron Jerome and I'd still withhold judgement until I'd seen him in a City shirt. That is pushing it, but I'd still guess they had a good reason.
Dan Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Am quite warming to this. Can't hold it against anyone for not being Kante. That bloke's one of a kind for a club like us.

That sounds promising, but I think James can still progress with us much like Danny has done. So if we do sign Mendy we shouldn't be ushering Matty out
Simo86 Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Personally can't see James being as good as he could have been with this injury. It's a massive ask to get back to where he was, and then progress further.
hackneyfox Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 The right decision for James, He's unlikely to feature much for us and needs game time somewhere. NP knows his strengths and can afford him the time to get up to match speed while recovering from his injury. I'm sorry to see him go as I thought he was a very good player but this is the right decision for everyone. I'm sure once he proves his fitness it'll lead to a full transfer. Is it official?
dpjfox Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Theres rumours Lyon are trying to sign him from under our noses.. get him signed
J.Lisemore Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Would much prefer Sissoko from the toon. But hopefully another steal, just don't put in any bloody release clause!! Joke of a player. Even from the outside you can tell how crap he's been for Newcastle.
