Gerard Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Best investment you can make. If you're talking in terms of money this bloke's work has made us absolutely millions. Just look at what our players are worth now and what he's allowed to happen. Superb. Nothing more satisfying in footballing terms than a proper scouting system and ours is second to none. I'd put him on a lifetime contract and I'm deadly serious. He's a world class scout. Recruitment is the most important thing at a club bar none. If you sign the best players you can then it's hard to go wrong.
whoareyaaa Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 KAnte, vardy, marhez, Fuchs, the list goes on the. Special thanks to all the backroom staff.
Gerard Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Looking forward to seeing more disinformation spread about in the summer. Leicester have identified Jordan Veretout as a top target... in come Villa "well if Steve Walsh seems something good in him, he must be good even though he doesn't look like he can kick a ball straight" but if he is wanted by Leicester's top scouting system he must be good... Stories like that might be truer than you think. I remember hearing a story on the radio years a go that Liverpool were looking at a player from a club. They said they were looking at Player A but they were really looking at Player B. Everton soon swooped in and bought Player A and that player flopped and never made a start for Everton. The Liverpool scout thought they only bought him as it was reported that Liverpool were looking at him.

Dan Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Recruitment is the most important thing at a club bar none. If you sign the best players you can then it's hard to go wrong. Correct. Forget fleecing the fans to milk profits. You invest your money properly and you can run yourselves successfully with absolute ease. We've got it as good as anyone in this country with the TV money.

I say with a lot of confidence that Veretout would have been looked upon very differently if he'd joined us over Villa. Don't think it'd have worked out as well as Kante but the environment and mentality of a club plays a far bigger part than people think. Albrighton's a perfect example. Stagnating at Villa after some early promise but he's come here and got himself a league winners medal. I could sort of understand Veretout's move at the time. We'd turned into a bit of an unknown. Granted it was obvious quite early on in the season that we were still a good side and one worth joining, and that Villa under Sherwood were only heading one way.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Great news Steve Walsh is vital for this club Thank you
separator Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 There's an interview with the great man on 5 live after 8pm

When are Clubs going to realise that top Managers and personnel are priceless to any Club. We have them now so lets make sure to keep them. Great to have him on board. Now for Shaky.

Izzy Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 To all those who said he'd obviously follow Pearson to his next job...
Dodgy Bob Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I hope he and Shakey get a statue alongside Claudio. Walsh's signings have been the making of this club.
st albans fox Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Everton want him as director of football Apparently he didn't travelled to Austria
Itsthejoeker Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Everton want him as director of football Apparently he didn't travelled to Austria Perhaps he was scouting? or on holiday?
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Would be a massive blow for us. Can't see him leaving though.
Ricey Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Sooner this summer is over with the better. My initial reaction was "good try Everton" but it does seem very odd that he hasn't been around the club or in Austria for a few days. Something isn't right.
st albans fox Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Perhaps he was scouting? or on holiday? Unless he is watching someone in the MLS or Chinese league then nope. There could be an argument that he spent the euros scouting so could be on holiday now. Straw clutching ....
foxes21 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 he's obvs busy either scouting, or finalising deals. I'm sure Ranieri & shakey can handle the training camps.
daddylonglegs Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Didn't he sign a new contract about 2 months ago? He's not going anywhere unless he gets a hugely improved offer/role at Everton. Besides, isn't director of football basically the role he has at Leicester?
DB11 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 No need to discuss the same news in two topics - http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/107641-steve-walsh/
