I will tend to disagree Portuguese league is very technical and enjoyable to watch and few Sporting players are courted by big team in Europe.

Yes, one just won the the PL title!

It might be an enjoyable league to watch but its no better then the English second or third tier bar Porto, Benfica and Sporting. Put Leicester in that league and we'd run away with the title as we have done in arguably the best league in world football. To say Slimani wouldn't be attracted to a move to this club is nonsensical and quite frankly ridiculous.

Aren't we interested in this bloke every year? Imagine he wanted to come. Wouldn't we already know the terms and simply have to complete the paperwork? And the AFCON aspect is hardly encouraging. Who's available in the Faroe Isles?

Ludicrous and big headed to think that Islam would jump on a cheap offer just because of what lol..cheap and good that what LCFC is seeking.

- Higher salary

- The champions of the 'biggest' league in the world

- Champions league pot 1 (Guaranteed)

- To play with a fellow international

'IF' Walsh wants him, then Slimani chosing to stay at sporting shows he lacks ambition imo.

Ouch!

had to fish for it I'm afraid. Bites a plenty as expected. Although it's no more stupid than the two eggs in one basket why would someone leave SCP to play in England comments.

Yea we like a good cheap buy, but you can't rule out a big signing because walsh said he didn't think we would spend 20m+ on a player. Especially when he followed that up with 'but we'll see'

The pull of the premiers league regardless of this exceptional year was and is still led by the top four; now Leicester has to build on this year success for few more year to pretend competing the pulling power.

As for the cheap issue you seem to not pay attention to you gaffer; steve W and your owner; they are not going for prime names and expensives.

As for Mahrez choice to play for his country; well I am not surprise that you don't respect his choices as you know nothing about him his background or familly history.

Prime names or expensive players, I'm afraid Islam slimani is not top bracket my friend and 20 million is hardly a bank breaker in the current climate, we already pay vardy 90 odd k a week and were signing players for 10 million when our objective was survival, we ain't going after Ronaldo or messi anytime soon but Slimani at a price SCP would find acceptable is well within reach.

Well actually Sporting have announced that they want at least 30 for Islam.

Edit: Islam Slimani is a prime signing this season 6th best scorer in Europe he actually scored more so far then the top scorer in EPL

We've already got 3 Africans.l, Slimani would be 4. Losing Mahrez, Slimani, Schlupp and Amartey for 4 weeks in the middle of the season will be challenging. And Ghana and Algeria are both top African sides so will most likely reach latter stages of AFCON.

I said he wouldn't come on a cheap. ..cheap player were annouced by LCFC.

big money is relative in todays game. by big money they probably mean 35mil +.

The comments directed at algerianfox are embarrassing.

Mahrez is 100% devoted to Algeria, he has said in so many interviews that he considers himself an Algerian who grew up in France not a French person with Algerian heritage. He dedicates his choice to play for the Algerian national squad to his late hero father. Can't believe people on here don't know that!

Loosing Slimani to AFCON wouldn't be too bad given we have Vardy, Shinji, Ulloa and probably Kram. And the rest are going anyhow. Obviously if Kram leaves we're up shit creek, unless Muskwe or Dodoo takes a massive and unlikely leap up.

In Portugal. Ricky van wolfswinkel was good for 15 goals a season in the primeria liga, he got one in the prem.

30 million lol. His buyout clause is less than that you clown !

The Portuguese league is pants. Apart from Benfica, Sporting and Porto (and maybe Braga to an extent), the rest of the league just make up the numbers and play in front of stadiums two-thirds empty.

Pay is miserable, unless you're playing for one of the Big Three.

And after seeing Belenenses and Braga compete in the Europa League, I can say they're anything but technical.
