johnny the fox Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 we have got be careful signing a lot of international players..when they go away for for national duty there can be risks of loss of form, injury ..disruption to the team...
artursteppe Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I'll repeat what I've said every other time we've been linked with this bloke. The was one player Pearson specifically denied us bidding on or even being interested in. For a man who never comments on transfer speculation, that should tell you a lot. Things might have changed, but this is most likely just a lazy rehash of an old non story. Pearson isn't our manager anymore. Where have you been?
foxes21 Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 From what I've seen of him, his work rate & press is intelligent. He won't run himself into the ground or give us the never ending press that Shinji does, which has been vital for us btw. What Slimani will do is hold his position and try to press at the right time in fast bursts. Could work.
Babylon Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Pearson isn't our manager anymore. Where have you been? But the scouting team is that was here then. He categorically denied any interest in him.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 But the scouting team is that was here then. He categorically denied any interest in him. Pearson did that with several other signings. He categorically denied any interest in Chris Wood and then he had signed on the dotted line the next day. It's just Pearson's way of never giving the media a sniff.

It's just Pearson's way of never giving the media a sniff. He said a bid hadn't been made to "his knowledge" and that "Speculation is not something I court. It is unsettling and disrespectful" about three weeks before he signed. On Slimani Pearson said "In terms of hot and cold, that one is freezing" when Stringer was reading out loads of linked names to him. There's been plenty of talk in the papers and nothing from any decent sources, other than our manager who denied it (that's quite a strong denial from him). So I'll continue to call bull shit on this one. You never know for sure, it was just unlike him to even comment. So a denial like that stood out.
Nick Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Every year for the last 3 I've wanted this fella. Not even going to bother getting my hopes up this time.
Grantham Fox Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Algeria have a quality side with the likes of Mahrez, Feghouli, Brahimi, Slimani, Mandi, Bentaleb and anyone else I've probably missed.
AlgerianFox Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Algeria have a quality side with the likes of Mahrez, Feghouli, Brahimi, Slimani, Mandi, Bentaleb and anyone else I've probably missed. Ghoulam (napoli); Boudebouz (montpellier); Ghezzal (lyon) Soudani (D . zaghreb)
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Would definitely take him and Mahrez could be a big plus for Slimani coming here if he stays
Master Fox Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 He'd cost us over £20m. Chump change for us now, remember that. A player costing £20 million is the equivalent of a player costing £300,000 two years ago. We can sign anyone we bloody well want now. No player out there is off limits. Believe.

ThingsCouldGetMessi Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 He's 28 in a month and reports are saying he will cost £25m. That is surely far too much money to be spending on a player of that age who is only playing in the Portugese league. I would sooner we didn't bother and hope this is lazy journalism as we seem to get linked with any Algerian.

You can keep all your players like Vardy, Mahrez and Kante - Too Risky - .

If this thread was on about Aboubakar then I would happily agree with signing him.

Legend fox Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 People say we won't sign any big names? Aboubakar is 9 letters long. No chance then Let's just call him Boobs then.
Foxxed Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Feels odd spending so much money all of a sudden, although given the value of Vardy, Kante, Mahrez and others he's not even that expensive. It's got to the stage where: if a Walsh likes him, I'm happy.
Mr.10 Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 He´s a very good player, he has been a beast this season, far better than in the last two. I'm saying this as a rival of his team. But with £25M I think there´s better in the market.

I wouldn't take that as him not being interested in Slimani, but maybe slimani not being interested in us...at the time. Or the club not wanting to sell...
