foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 From Sky ........... Olivier Giroud has given a fresh update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Jamie Vardy, confirming the Leicester City striker wants to move to the Emirates Stadium. It is understood the 29-year-old England frontman has a £20m release clause in the new four-year contract he signed in February and the Gunners are prepared to meet that clause. And, speaking after France’s Euro 2016 warm-up victory over Scotland, Giroud told Sky Sports News HQ: “I’ve been told that Jamie wants to join us. It is very good news for us. “I think we can be complementary. That’s all I can say. He is fantastic player so it’s good news for us.” Hope it wasn't Kante that has said this, otherwise we can soon say bye to him too... shows a team like ours can achieve a dream and still lose out to the so called elite when they come sniffing around our players. This has certainly ruined my weekend that is for sure
m4DD0gg Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Having slept on it feck him. Such a greedy nasty piece of shit. He has made himself looks a right judas cvnt. Even if this arsenal deal falls through I still don't want him here. Burnt the bridges. Ones I feel sorry far are his band of brothers, the fans and the club who have played a huge role in elevating him to this level. He is not a Leicester legend for this. Making it quite clear only 3 weeks ago you love it and are staying only to be turned at the first hand after being touted and rejected by other clubs is not the stuff of a legend no matter how many goals you have scored. Either way good riddance you judas pikey chav cvnt. Hope this ruins you and your hideous money grabbing wife.
FireFox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Hope Fuchs two foots him if England play AustriaKing is gonna fuch him up.
Matt Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Hope Fuchs two foots him if England play Austria King can do it in the group stage.
CupidStunt Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 He's off, make no mistake He's got the attributes of a wannabe big time Charlie and this is his chance. Cant blame him, but he shouldn't have said what he said. It's too quiet on social media for nothing else but him to be going. I hope the club reimburse the fans whom have bought the shirts
jmono84 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 £20 mill release clause??!! The guy who did that needs to be shot!! Should be £30 mill at least!!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Watch that cvnt Hodgson play him in his proper role now...

No hard feelings from me, he will always be one of the title winners. Players won't come out openly and say they want to leave, look at odemwinge (sp) he was benched and didn't get a look in. I have a feeling it's all about a new deal but wouldn't begrudge him the move. Like someone else said I don't think Jamie will suit the arsenal style but we will see. Also you have no idea it's anything to do with his wife, she may be telling him to stay where he is for all we know.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Don't get me wrong I am hurt he is going. However, what hurts me more is the awful feeling that Giroud may have got the news from Kante!! If Vardy going means we keep Mahrez and Kante I'd drive him to Arsenal myself. This, unfortunately, seems the start.
Guest ttfn Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I just can't believe we're only going to see £15 million for a 24 goal Premier League striker and England international. Arsenal got £24m for Van Persie who had one year left on his contract, had an horrendous injury record and had never won a league title. This was about 4 years ago as well, way before the bumper new TV deal came in. Other than van Persie the last time somebody scored over 20 goals and then moved on the next season was Darren Bent about 6 years ago and he went for what ended up as £24 million to Aston Villa. I know Vardy's 29 but given how much the market has moved on, us only seeing £15 million for him is a self-inflicted kick in the bollocks.

Can we not say things like this because on FoxesTalk that will now be fact that Kante is a snide
dannyjpage Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Foxes never quit. Let's see if Jamie Vardy does! I hope he stays but if Arsenal is where he wants to be I am sure it may take the whole of 20 seconds for me to move on. If he goes I hope we remove the Vardy topics and concentrate on the incredible players we have at the club and the new arrivals that want to wear the shirt. The Euros will be strange and I shall be supporting Wales, France, Austria. I'd rather cheer on a team that contains a LCFC player. I've always spoke honestly on here and I just can't get behind an England team with an Arsenal Vardy, Rooney and half the Spurs team.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 This has left a bitter taste in my mouth, it is more the way he was going on about how he wouldn't go, and why the hell would he leave... etc... and it wasn't just once he was saying it. Plus how he goes on about not chasing the limelight and all that rubbish. He has just gone back on all that, and it is bloody not a good way to leave at all. We aren't even getting his market value! because he had the cheek to add a stupid release clause to his contract despite being offered double the wage!
weller54 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 The Vardy's have really got it made! After his football career is over he can make loads of money being a Steptoe lookalike and his missus can star in the remake of The lives and times of The She Devil... Neither need any make up!
VardyLookalike Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 So after the Giroud comment are there still any people that believe he will stay?
LCFC FOX Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 If he does leave let's respect him and not boo him please. Arsenal are a bigger club than us and you can't blame him. They've challenged for years and they're more likely to win the premier league than us do it again to be fair. Let's not be that club that Vardy hates now!

If Vardy going means we keep Mahrez and Kante I'd drive him to Arsenal myself. This, unfortunately, seems the start. Yup it will be. Probably something in the works already. Taking Kante and mahrez is essentially the core of the team. I would expect drinkwater and kasper to follow suit as well. Fair enough we will have a huge bank balance but I do think we will struggle to get the players in required. It usually takes us months to get a signing in and to be fair if you are slimani and must and Co would you really want to join a team that has been ripped apart regardless of the champions league.

MC Prussian Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 £20 mill release clause??!! The guy who did that needs to be shot!! Should be £30 mill at least!! You can either browse through this thread and piece the information together yourself or just believe it when I say that the release clause was created as a compromise between Vardy's agent (acting on behalf of his client) and the club. I suppose either the club wanted a larger sum implemented in the clause, but the agent refused (knowing that he would've threatened with Vardy leaving last January) or the club simply came to the conclusion that Vardy wasn't/isn't worth more than that. Again, he's 29 going on 30 and has one (1!) good season to show for. Players' values and evaluations are a construct of many different components and I suppose £20m is fair, no matter how rose your tinted glasses are.

Compared to some (ridiculous) inflated transfer fees, this is far too small a sum of money for the player. It's crazy.

GingerrrFox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I can't get my head round it at all. He had nearly the entire squad round his house to see if they would win the league when Chelsea played Tottenham. Now he's just turning his back on them at the first opportunity? I know from first hand experience that there is no loyalty in football but this is still one that has shocked me. He's the man here. The club were willing to give him £100k a week, the difference in wage between that and what Arsenal will pay him is marginal. Shows what he values as a person though. He's not a legend now. He was part of a legendary group that achieved the unthinkable but he's a Judas ****. He's left this club for nothing but money, others have left for footballing reasons etc. This club is in the Champions League next season and current Champions of England. How do you leave that? Hope Smolnikov snaps the ***** leg next week. This will hurt Claudio the most out of all the potential leavers. Kante will be next.
