foxes161 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 That is what everyone said this year... difference is we are losing the most important players and judging by rumours not many even want to come here
foxfanazer Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Just proves whatever miracles we produce on the pitch we'll always be little old Leicester City, and the Arsenal's and United's of the world can take our players in a heartbeat
Robin JD Popley Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 As I said yesterday, it's a terrible shame that it has come to this but I think the people who will feel most let down are his team mates. They are like brothers and this is a massive kick in the teeth for them. Incidentally, seems funny this has happened since Drinkwater left the England camp? (Thanks Jack Wilshere!) It's now for Claudio to work his magic again and show the lads there is life at Jamie Vardy's time at Leicester City. If there is one thing you should never do, that is underestimate us. Out of this there will come some good - I am sure of that.
foxfanazer Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I'll respect him more if he admits hes moved for money rather than if he comes out he's gone there to win silverware
biggs Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 if he goes, I wish him no luck at all. would hope he fails big time. Arsenal don't need a Vardy, 29 yrs old, it's a move to screw teams like us. if he choses to go, I can only hope it goes tits up for him. he was the man saying he wanted to stay and he's the man who happily signed a new contract. he could be the man we didn't want to believe he is......blinded by money hoping the grass is greener when he likely knows he's a square peg in a round hole at Arsenal. might end up biting him in the arse. fitting really truly hoping he finds the character i thought he had and rejects any move.
FireFox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I'll respect him more if he admits hes moved for money rather than if he comes out he's gone there to win silverwareYou know that won't happen. In his first interview he will be saying how he now has a chance to compete for trophies with great teammates and a great manager at a big great club.
Ricey Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I won't hate him. I don't want to as it'll ruin the Euros for me and tarnish a lot of the memories from last year. He was the figurehead and top scorer of a Leicester City team that won the Premier League, for that he should always get a great reception whenever he returns and go down as a club legend. I am hugely surprised though and he has gone down in my estimation. He said that he wasn't motivated by money, he said the squad were like a family to him and he said he was happy here. I thought he was smart enough to understand that we sacrifice everything to suit his abilities, other clubs will not. I thought he was different and would stay one more year, but he's not. He's the same as all the other greedy footballers who risk everything and go weak at the knees once a big club comes calling. I can't say I wish him well as I think he's making a huge mistake and will sadly get satisfaction if I'm proven right.

Out of this there will come some good - I am sure of that. I think that's the reason we all felt like they might stick together for one more season. The togetherness of that squad was the like nothing I've sever seen before and I'd hoped that they'd realise that they won't find that elsewhere.
Ricey Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I was gutted like this when Cambissso left. Hopefully the outcome is the same and we replace him with someone better and younger.

chapero82 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Bets have been suspended on him going to Arsenal this feels awful
st albans fox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 We know the club have publically stated that they want to keep the guys here but who knows what is going on behind the scenes. Perhaps we aren't prepared to increase Jamie's deal. Perhaps Claudio has other ideas about the way he wants to play next season so we aren't as one dimensional. Jamie plays one way. Perhaps we are looking at players who can be more adaptable. All supposition but my point is that laying this all on Jamie's doorstep may be a bit unfair. who would have thought that this time last year the board were thinking that Nigel wasn't the man to take us into the next season. Jamie is worth far more than 20mill to us than he is to arsenal. Arsene may see this deal as giving him some options and at the same time, ensuring that we don't finish above them next season. Fwiw, I don't think Jamie is quite technically good enough for them. He has improved no end here but I think their tippy tappy style of possession will expose his deficiencies whereas we exposed his assets.

foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Bets have been suspended on him going to Arsenal this feels awful Got to say it makes me feel sick knowing this is highly likely going to happen, need to bring in Slimani and anything striker ASAP. Good luck to him at Arsenal served us well but not the best way to go, giving the way he was talking about staying not so long ago. Had he not said that stuff and was more reserved it would have been more forgivable. Footballers will be footballers though
HEGGSY Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Thought I'd not begrudge him having one final move in his career but I do. The ****ing ****
ElusiveEd Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 From Sky ........... Olivier Giroud has given a fresh update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Jamie Vardy, confirming the Leicester City striker wants to move to the Emirates Stadium. It is understood the 29-year-old England frontman has a £20m release clause in the new four-year contract he signed in February and the Gunners are prepared to meet that clause. And, speaking after France’s Euro 2016 warm-up victory over Scotland, Giroud told Sky Sports News HQ: “I’ve been told that Jamie wants to join us. It is very good news for us. “I think we can be complementary. That’s all I can say. He is fantastic player so it’s good news for us.”
Matt Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Whilst I don't really wish injury on anyone it'll be funny come his first injury because you know he will get injured. He was so looked after here with recovery and injury management. Until I saw was Giroud said I still thought he'd stay, i'm really not sure now and his comment have put alot of doubt in my mind, i'm in denial pretty much.
MC Prussian Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Eh, we've had confirmation of a bid from ranieri in that italian paper - anything more is just twitter noise; people then jumping to him having a medical this weekend, getting £130k a week and taking doris the tea ladies favourite hair net with him are extrapolating from very little. Is there something in this - we already know there is; is it what everyone thinks - probably not. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit in thinking he's smart enough to see moving to arsenal would destroy his career but this is surely their version of mcarthur-cambiasso; making an approach but with no real plans to take it further to force someone elses hand. Doc, it's not just been on Twitter or on some shady blog. The BBC have reported concrete talks between Vardy, his agent and Arsenal and so have Sky Sports, the Mercury plus Ranieri admitting to it to the Gazzetta. That's as much as we have established. Other sources point to a deal that ought to be wrapped up by Monday, as Hodgson wants his squad members and their club deals settled by then in order to avoid confusion and to help maintain focus on the tournament.
