BigMicky Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 You're talking shite mate. Soton had top class players (Lambert / Lallana / Schnid). Vardy / Kante / Mahrez are world class, all irreplaceable. If we sell them now we will never again reach the heights of this season. If we sell instead of build we are fcuked. Haha "World Class" have a day off.
Ebok Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 You can walk on off to whatever hole your poncy self came out of, if you came here simply to post that. What are you uptight about? I was being sarcastic.. maybe I need to add more smileys... I don't believe Vardy would leave us. Maybe I am in denial.. but its sad seeing post people start blaming his wife and stuff..
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 That said, I think the story is BS. I work in the industry and you can any time a reporter writes "I understand" you can translate as "I don't really know". The advent of Twitter and the spotlight on individuals it provides means that it's not just the ITKs you have to watch; reporters from supposedly reputable publications are not that different. It's a highly competitive game and they're under constant pressure to appear more informed on each and every story than they actually are. Don't worry; he's staying. The fact it's on the Beeb Sport site and many others suggests to me the source is reliable. Your call of BS is denial - one of the stages of grieving. (Interesting you also used bargaining as well!)

All three were picked out of relative obscurity by our scouting department and are now world class players. If the scouting team had done it once maybe you could say they were irreplaceable but seeming they have done it three times shows that they may well go out and find more world class players from obscure places.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Only thing that would be worse than him going is to get Theo ****ing Walcott as his replacement

Yeh i have full faith in our scouting but to have all 3 players in their prime (for such small fees) at the same time is pretty lucky
peach0000 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Haha "World Class" have a day off. Vardy - Joint second best striker in arguably the best league in the world Mahrez - Best player in arguably the best league in the world Kante - nominated for every award going and one of if not the best midfielder in the premier league Based on last season calling those three players "world class" really is justified

Vardy isn't world class.
azzathehack Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 The way we set up, it would be impossible to replace Vardy. Have you seriously watched us all season and think we could just replace him with a 'speed merchant'? You're right let's just chuck Schlupp up front. Perhaps I wasn't clear. A 'speed merchant striker' in a similar vein to Vardy, like the players we're supposedly tracking (Musa, Slimani or Perez). A direct replacement for Mahrez or Kante, in terms of their unique flair or defensive work respectively, would be much harder to find. Perhaps these players are out there and we're tracking them? I just think their unique skills/technique are harder to replace.

To be deemed world class it has to be over a prolonged period. Michael Ricketts must have been world class with your logic.
dylanlegend Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Haha "World Class" have a day off. So The PFA player of the year, best DM in the world and football writers player of the year isnt world class? Lallana, Lambert are a better standard of player are they? I cant believe how much people under-estimate our players. We won the league cos we have quality + world class players simple as that

Fox 4 Life Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Vardy epitomises everything good about LCFC, he would be a MASSIVE loss and anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional
Ozwin Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Thinking about this a bit more, you're telling me this is how the movie ends? Nah mate, doesn't fit the narrative at all. Hardly the best way to promote a movie either when he doesn't play for the team he reached the pinnacle with anymore. Would bollocks the whole thing up.
Guest ttfn Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Why pick Lallana? Are any of our players as good as Suarez, Messi, Pogba? The answer is obviously no. I think Kante's the best player I've seen this season in his position.
phildw Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Snap their hands off for £20+ million for him. He's 29 and has probably had his best season he is ever going to have in football. Can't see him repeating that next year and we want players who want to play for LCFC.
azzathehack Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 The fact it's on the Beeb Sport site and many others suggests to me the source is reliable. Your call of BS is denial - one of the stages of grieving. (Interesting you also used bargaining as well!) ....and I can feel the 'depression' setting in as I write! However, I'm not at the stage of 'acceptance' just yet; the quality of reporting is no better at the Beeb, especially on the website. The Beeb passes on other journos stories just as readily, using the same old phrases like 'sources say', 'we understand', or 'according to reports'.
Tuna Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Basically, he's as good as gone. That's it, if its true that Arsenal have bid, he'll go there. At 29, doubt he'll have a better chance to move to a so called bigger club (Face it, Arsenal are and always will be a bigger club). The glamour seeking wife will demand a move to London plus the agent will be pushing for a big move for his 10%. Even if Vardy is a loyal guy, his head will be turned. He'll look at us and think 'I've achieved everything I can with them now'. Lets all forget about him, he's given us good service but we'll move on.

Koke Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Manchester United are the biggest club in England and they couldn't keep Ronaldo. In 2009 they had won 3 league titles in a row AND a Champions League. Yet Ronaldo left them. Even though United made Robaldo into what he is. So if Manchester United can't keep hold of their star player despite winning trophies then neither can we. People need to be realistic. Players and managers talk utter shite and don't believe a word they say.

orangecity23 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 The worst part of this is, if the fee is only 20 million, we are realistically looking at losing Vardy, and having to splash out more than the cash we receive to buy a replacement. Awful stuff. Thanks Rudkin, genius negotiation.
