Right seriously can we stop this for ****s sake! There's people being banned on here for nothing but you can put comments like this on every page with no substance. It's 2016 for christ sake!

Stop what

There's people dying in Africa why are you being so melodramatic?

Out of interest I was looking at our squad from this time 10 years ago earlier. Puts this into perspective. I remember being slightly gutted that Gareth Williams left.

Exactly! Look what happened to Gareth, Jamie.

in 2016, husbands & wives alike can still be influenced by what their partner wants

Exactly ;)

From what I have read and seen the wife does seem to follow a pound note, and wears the trousers.

Plus how would you feel if you was her other children and she uses Vardys kid only in the main pic... Bit odd

Harry horse face Kane is on £50k a week at The Spuds...how come he's not being tempted by the bigger clubs?.. He seems happy to stay put!

Cos he's not a disloyal motherfudger. I think if Vardy leaves he will go down in everyone's estimations and will ruin his commercial value.

Because Vardys misses has already come out and said she's having to put up with the same rubbish on twitter. Why bring it onto here too.

And i'm pretty sure bringing Africa into it is quite melodramatic too geldof! ;)

Just skimming through the Arsenal forum and it appears that a lot of them think Vardy is going to play on the left of a front 3 if they get him. Don't think they watched the england game last night then. No point wasting him there

I have it on good authority that Arsenal have indeed activated Jamie's release clause which is £18.5mill and requested to talk to him, this was yesterday. Vardy is focused on Euros and hasn't done so much as acknowledged it this far.

Any of the cl clubs with that money could have done it, until Vardy is actually in talks I wouldn't worry.

Bob to you

The post you quoted had nothing about the wife being harassed. Just the blokes thoughts.

Hence the question

The nearest feeling that I had to this was when Lineker was thinking over a move to Everton. I was praying that he would stay. He was 26 at the time and, to be frank, many City fans never thought that he would make it at the top level. He was an excellent goalscorer but his technique was really quite poor.  I even had a letter in the Leicester Mercury published urging him to stay. It was dreadful when he left. We thought that Mark Bright would be the ideal replacement, especially after his two stunning goals in the first game of the season against Lineker's Everton.

  He was the latest in a long line so I quoted it. Understand why you asked though. It just happens all the time on here, no need really.

Kane is a lot younger than vardy and has plenty of time ahead of him to earn a lot of money. Vardy may only have a few years left of playing at the top level so it might make sense for him to want to get as much money as possible while he still can.

It was in relation to a post about his wife having a input on his career choices

Not a wholesome family pic, more of a brand Vardy

Oh terrific! And Linekar loves Leicester. Bye Jamie

we do if we should be quadrupling them at the very least.

Or do you think accepting an arsenal bid of 35 mill would be OK having paid him less than he was worth? we can't have it both ways and this will repeat across our best players for the next month or so. we either break the bank in wages (we won the PL with a record low wage bill - the players now want their 'pound of flesh') or we lose our stars and Walshy has to pull some more rabbits out of hats.

But that's simply poor negotiating from the club. Vardy's right to move due to reduced terms is the club agreeing to a release clause full stop. That doesn't mean that the release clause should be agreed below market value irrespective of the wage.

There are many ways to structure a contract to make it more favourable without breaking wage structures or creating disharmony whilst ensuring that the terms of the agreement are both fair and beneficial to both parties. An example being, capping wages at £80k p/w with top up bonuses paid out on achievement of specific objectives (therefore paying market value based on tangible outcomes), linked to a sliding scale release fee dependent upon league/cup performance.

You have to remember that from a negotiation stand point the club were in the driving seat back in February when he signed the contract, so terms should have been more favourable to us as we had won nothing at that point, the window was shut so he couldn't move anywhere, and rejecting an improved contract based upon future outcomes would have been a very risky move by his agent particularly if things hadn't gone to plan.

Often at the top level, a players wage from

Their football club doesn't even equate to 50% of their income.

Vardy, at Leicester or Arsenal will be able to earn in the region of 75-100k a week in other dealings due to the fairytale story and the medias interest in him.

He's clearly just been pondering it for a very long time - that's why his mouth is always open.

Does this mean their will be no "Vardy Pool Party" at Wayne Linekers gaff in Ibiza anymore!? Shame, I was looking forward to not going to that!
