Lesteban Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 If anyone recalls what the Liverpool owner said about the Suarez £40,000,001 bid. It met the release clause but he just rejected it anyway. He said something along the lines of 'football contacts seem to mean very little these days' and basically told Arsenal to do one. In theory our owners could tell them to do one as well, but Vardy might be very unhappy. The guy came from nothing this a chance for a last big paycheque, if I were in his position id go if Leicetser didn't match Arsenals contract offer. (Assuming they offer about 4 years)
chapero82 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Gone I reckon. Me too he's now saying it will be done quick! Gone I reckon. Me too he's now saying it will be done quick!
dylanlegend Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 LCFC need to sort this out ASAP, If we want to stay at the top we need to offer Vardy £140,000 a week (what he wants) as well as Kante / Mahrez. If Vardy leaves I think Kante and Mahrez will as well. Maybe Vardy wants assurances that we will keep Kante and Mahrez? Give them what they want or relegation battle beckons
kingpowerout Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Surely the owners would consider selling if they get an offer of £20M+? He's 29, it's our only opportunity to make a staggering amount of money for him. I don't want him to leave but the club faces a dilemma here
Callabinho Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 It will be a statement and a half if he reject them.
AjcW Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Maybe ready to meet means "how many broken pieces would you like us to send Walcott in?"
Jimothy Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Me too he's now saying it will be done quick! Me too he's now saying it will be done quick! IF it happens it'll be done quick. Meaning Arsenal don't want it to run, that's not a declaration that is almost over the line, or even close.
Jace Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Means absolutely nothing, Bournemouth would meet the clause if they thought he'd come. If Vardys happy where he is then they are wasting their time the only info these ITKs are going on is Arsenal are happy to buy Vardy, no big surprise there they'd probably like to buy Kante, Mahrez, Morgan and Schmeichel too
LCFC1996 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Can't wait for Union FS' version of this next season In all seriousness if we hold on to him its a massive statement but I think he'll be going.

I don't want him to leave but the club faces a dilemma here 20million is NOTHING in todays market. the club will 100% not want to sell, we should just reject it- if they are desperate for him see them in court
Koke Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Surely the owners would consider selling if they get an offer of £20M+? He's 29, it's our only opportunity to make a staggering amount of money for him. I don't want him to leave but the club faces a dilemma here £20m for a 29 year old is about right. United bought RVP for £24m and he was also 29. He gave them one good year then turned shit. If he left leaves then so be it.
kyleolly Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 How do I break this to my 4 year old he had a meltdown when Vards played for England
Lesteban Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 20million is NOTHING in todays market. the club will 100% not want to sell, we should just reject it- if they are desperate for him see them in court Liverpool rejected that Arsenal bid for Suarez above the release clause and nothing happened after that. (Except Barca obv.)
KFS Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Honestly, look at the state of some of these Twitter feeds. It's like school kids in the playground. If he's a Leicester player come the first game of next season I'll fvcking wet myself at all these dumb journalists
ALC Fox Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 I genuinely think this will be the most tempting move for Vardy. CL football, excellent money, based in London. This kind of move may only come once for him as well. Saying that though, he has CL football already, he plays for the champions of England and the situation he is currently in is once-in-a-lifetime. If he stays, he could achieve immortality in the eyes of our supporters, if he hasn't already.
Guest ttfn Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Surely the owners would consider selling if they get an offer of £20M+? He's 29, it's our only opportunity to make a staggering amount of money for him. I don't want him to leave but the club faces a dilemma here £20m is nothing these days. If you wanted to buy any other under-contract player who scored over 20 goals in a top 5 league last year you'd be talking £30m minimum as a PL club. Throw in the fact that he's integral to the way we play and a reported £20m release clause looks suicidal - he was worth more than that when he signed the contract FFS. In fact it's so low that it makes me think that it can't possibly be the right number. Release clauses are normally prohibitively high relative to the player's value at the time of signing the contract (e.g. kante)
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 IF Vardy and his agent had this release clause written into his contract then it appears inevitable that they would be open to a move like this.
spudfox2911 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 As far as I've seen it's just a throw away comment made by Ian wright last night; just voicing he could be just what they need. . Since then this has been spiraling out of control. I'm not suggesting wether he's straying or not, but a former player of Arsenal says "we need a vardy" next day 1 tweet later all tell breaks loose with itk's and panic file:///storage/emulated/0/Download/Arsenal-Ian-Wright-Arsene-Wenger-sign-Jamie-Vardy-Leicester-transfers-rumours-gossip.htm
NeilLCFC Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 In the matter of a few tweets he's shared an article saying there's a £20m release clause then stated Arsenal are spending £50m. Mean Vardy fee + the money they spend on the Swiss bloke they just signed
WiFoxes Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 I never once thought Vardy would leave until today...now I'm convinced of it within a couple hours.
Guest Lcfc82 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 if he goes can see a domino effect happening, with Kante, mahrez, drinks, kasper etc following
Kitchandro Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 I'm not sure why this is a story. Football team wants to sign the player of the season. Yeh, and?
