BigMicky Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 I think Kante's the best player I've seen this season in his position. So you wouldn't swap him for Pogba or Iniesta?
Callabinho Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Those trying to convince themselves Vardy wouldn't be a monumental loss are just in denial. He is the main reason we play like we do. I agree with those who say we're ****ed if he goes.
adam Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Snap their hands off at 20m!! Madness . He is our most important player. Mahrez is probably replaceable and hopefully kante will give us another year but the way we play Vardy is essential .
dylanlegend Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Snap their hands off for £20+ million for him. He's 29 and has probably had his best season he is ever going to have in football. Can't see him repeating that next year and we want players who want to play for LCFC. What!?!? are some people still living in 1996? You do know Liverpool signed Andy Carroll for £35million?
BigMicky Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 The worst part of this is, if the fee is only 20 million, we are realistically looking at losing Vardy, and having to splash out more than the cash we receive to buy a replacement. Awful stuff. Thanks Rudkin, genius negotiation. How would you have handled it then Branson?
Guest ttfn Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 So you wouldn't swap him for Pogba or Iniesta? No, because they don't play in the same position. In any event I wouldn't say either of those two have had a better season than Kante.
BigMicky Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 You have had the courage to say what some of us have thought. He comes across as lacking self-discipline and capable of meltdown - as with Jon Moss. There was also the deliberate taunting of the Everton goalie, Robles, after the penalty (which backfired on him). Not a nasty guy per se but capable of nastiness. If he goes then there would be some readjustment to be made. I suspect there is a Plan B for all eventualities but Vardy is a key player in the set up. Do you know what Robles said to him before the 1st penalty??
Finnaldo Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Manchester United are the biggest club in England and they couldn't keep Ronaldo. In 2009 they had won 3 league titles in a row AND a Champions League. Yet Ronaldo left them. Even though United made Robaldo into what he is. So if Manchester United can't keep hold of their star player despite winning trophies then neither can we. People need to be realistic. Players and managers talk utter shite and don't believe a word they say. Big, big difference between Ronaldo leaving to one of the most successful clubs in the world who consistently challenge both domestically and in Europe whilst playing around him and Vardy going to an Arsenal team that celebrate not finishing fourth this season and being squeezed into a system where he has no influence. If he hasn't learnt from England he'll have no sympathy from me when he goes from England striker to Rickie Lambert MK. II, although if he has sense he'll see that and tell them to fvck off.
BigMicky Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 No, because they don't play in the same position. In any event I wouldn't say either of those two have had a better season than Kante. As in yes I would have both instead, don't give me this DM rubbish. All centre mids.
UPinCarolina Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 What are you uptight about? I was being sarcastic.. maybe I need to add more smileys... I don't believe Vardy would leave us. Maybe I am in denial.. but its sad seeing post people start blaming his wife and stuff.. Sorry mate. I thought you were coming over from that forum to gloat.
BigMicky Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Very different players!! Yes, you mean both are better.
fuchsntf Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 1 equation for Vardy with 2 outcomes Stay at Leicester as 1st choice, even if injured, guarranteed after recovery at least 2nd choice gameday. Go to Arsenal, after 1st month no 1st choice, no return to matchday after injury, After 1st games at Arsenal no CL game guarrantee. Stays at Leicester guarranteed place, means involvement in all major competitions. at 29 he doesnt want to sit on the Bench. oh another equation...Stay at city, more likelyhood he stays fit, no major Arsenal-syndrome injuries.
foxes21 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 throw whatever money we get, at gameiro if Vardy goes. He's the closest thing to Vardy I've seen this season.
Koke Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Snap their hands off at 20m!! Madness . He is our most important player. Mahrez is probably replaceable and hopefully kante will give us another year but the way we play Vardy is essential . £20m is about right. RVP went to United for £24m at 29 as well and and he is better than Vardy.
fox_favourite Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 My worry would be the aftershock. IF Vardy leaves, could this see others like Mahrez, Kanté, Drinky think about moving as well. Also, Simpson said in the Mercury that he urged his team mates to stay and so did Albrighton whether they knew something then??
dylanlegend Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Why pick Lallana? Are any of our players as good as Suarez, Messi, Pogba? The answer is obviously no. They have performed consistently to the highest level in the last 50 games in the worlds toughest league. Thats world class to me. I dont think Kante is that far behind Pogba but they are different players. Obvs Messi, Ronaldo are a different level
dylanlegend Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 £20m is about right. RVP went to United for £24m at 29 as well and and he is better than Vardy. he only had 1 year on his contract, Arsenal didnt have a choice Also, was RVP really that much better he had 1 good season for united as Vardy has had for us
Guest ttfn Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 As in yes I would have both instead, don't give me this DM rubbish. All centre mids. If you're asking, would I swap Kante for Iniesta, then the answer is no. You're going to get 10 years out of Kante for starters. I would swap Kante for Pogba. It's a very limited definition of "world class" if you think that 2 players being better than in a very loose definition of his position rules him out. He's the best in the game at what he does.

They aren't in the same league in terms of quality, take the rose tinted specs off. I love the 3 as much as the next man. Ever seen Iniesta tackle? Yes. Next.
Spiritwalker Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Does this mean his look a like will have to wear an Arsenal shirt?
Guest ttfn Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 That level being World Class. They aren't in the same league in terms of quality, take the rose tinted specs off. I love the 3 as much as the next man. Right so you think, what, 5 players are "world class"? In that case Kante is not world class but it's not a definition you'll share with many others.
peach0000 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 So you wouldn't swap him for Pogba or Iniesta? At the moment I think Kante is more effective than either of them, in a one off match tomorrow I would have Kante over those two providing we were playing the system we did last season.
