fridoux Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 anyone else think it is ridiculous townsend is in that squad ahead of albirghton and antonio what about wilshere, more than rediculous
Fox in the North Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 It's been widely trailed that Rashford is just in the squad for experience and won't make the final cut. If that's the case, why pick him for a tournament squad? I'd rather that Defoe go and then, as long as Rashford keeps up his form, Rashford gets selected for the next qualifiying/friendly squad.
Wycombe Fox Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 If DD doesn't go I shall officially announce my retirement from International football...again
Webbo Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 I love it how people are getting found up over something Woy hasn't done yet, especially as there's no evidence to suggest Drinkwater won't be taken. If that's the case, why pick him for a tournament squad? I'd rather that Defoe go and then, as long as Rashford keeps up his form, Rashford gets selected for the next qualifiying/friendly squad. DeFoe is 34, Rashford is 18. I think he needs the experience more.
foxy boxing Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 woy will do whatever he can to get sicknote in the squad, drinkwater(mr consistency) deserves his chance but we all know woy do't we.no doubt he will also have sterling who has done naff all season apart from the shiska pipe

Soar Fox Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 According to Henry Winter Hodgson says Rashford is a "contender" for the 23-man Euro squad. Many obstacles but "he could knock someone off their perch." #eng
GingerrrFox Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Don't see how Roy can get slated for picking Rashford in the 26, the obvious 4 strikers are Vardy, Sturridge, Rooney and Kane (****). So he's there to gain experience and confidence for the future. No point picking Defoe as he's 1) not gonna play and 2) not be around in 2-4 years time. I feel like Townsend, Delph and Rashford will get cut. Can see Roy going for a 4-4-2 diamond. Hart Clyne Smalling Cahill Rose Dier (I'd go for Drinky here) Wilshere Rooney Alli Kane Vardy
Fox92 Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Drinkwater shits on every midfielder on that squad. His all round game is embarrassingly superior to Dier, Rooney I guess counts as a midfielder, Alli, Barkley, Henderson, Milner, Lallana, Wilshire, Delph etc. Drinkwater > Dier our best holding midfielder, there's no doubt about it.
ScouseFox Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 I'd rather we win more to be honest. but the point is neither of them are going to or ever where going to go. defoe being patronised and people being kind to him in some friendlies isn't going to help his career in any way. defoe himself would probably rather be in the bahamas than on the bench for england in a friendly in sunderland. rashford will have a great two weeks experience, probably get 5 minutes in a friendly, it'll be the best moment of his career so far and make him (hopefully) an even better youngster than he already is.
Webbo Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 I'd rather we win more to be honest. How many did we lose in qualifying, how many have we lost since the World cup?
Larry_LCFC Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Thing is, when was the last time the two top EPL goalscorers were English leading into a major tournament? Probably never. Hodgson has the chance to do pretty decent this year if he takes his head out his arse. Vardy and Kane have to start. Rooney isn't fit to clean their boots as far as I'm concerned. Who is Fabian Delph and why is he in the England squad? Exactly cheese. Exactly!
Voll Blau Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Thing is, when was the last time the two top EPL goalscorers were English leading into a major tournament? Probably never. Exactly! Completely agree. England managers in the past would've killed for that luxury.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 If Drinky doesn't go and Delph/Wilshere/Henderson do, I hope Vardy bags as many own goals as he can before being subbed then breaks Hodgson's nose and pisses on him
Captain... Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 what about wilshere, more than ridiculous I don't mind Wilshere being in the 26, he is a good player and he has the friendlies to prove he is fit, but how many of our midfielders have injury/fitness doubts, Wilshere, Henderson, Delph, Sterling have all been out injured until recently. Then you have 3 inexperienced Midfielders, Alli, Dier and Drinkwater, leaving Lallana, Milner and Barkley as our fully fit and experienced options! It just looks a mess
whoareyaaa Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 same old England, Milner, delph and Henderson and 1 game a year wilshere. Complete clown the manager is
Aeropars Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Drinkwater has the highest amount of successful tackles by and Englishman in the entire Premier League. I'd be shocked if that stat alone doesn't get him on that plane. And imagine if Vardy and Drinkwater were on the pitch at the same time. England would have a pair who know each others game and will use Vardy's pace at any opportunity. A deadly weapon as we have seen all season.
Darkon84 Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Who is Fabian Delph and why is he in the England squad? He's just some guy that's going to push Jack Wilshires wheelchair around for him.
Fox 4 Life Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 The concern is Drinkwater is battling Wilshere and Henderson for 2 places and Woy loves the other 2. Would be an absolute shambles if he doesnt go but I wouldnt put it past the owl at all.
ARM1968 Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Is this just Roy trolling us? Include Drinky, then chop him at the last minute. Some weird ones in there. Delph? Wiltshire? Henderson? Come on. Townsend is also odd but just about explainable. If he doesn't take Rashford now he has included him it could do the lad massive damage. Personally I'd take him. Great prospect.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Wilshire, Delph and Henderson aside, what has Rooney done in the past couple of years to warrant inclusion?
whoareyaaa Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 I'd go as the front 5 Kane - Vardy Rooney Ali - drinkwater - Barkley
