Blue and Gold Army

I'm blue and white all the way. That is our main tradition.

It might be subtle but blue and gold are the brand colours of King Power and Leicester City FC have been brought into the broader corporate portfolio and branded accordingly.

I am surprised so many are completely ok with that.

Having said that I actually would have liked gold numbers and lettering for next season. It would have looked amazing on the the shirts in our season as champions. It would have been even more amazing with the old gold sleeve badges. They new ones are awful.

The shade of blue has changed from "royal blue" to "reflex blue," and I'm fairly sure this happened when the club signed the deal with Puma.

I think Top is trying to match the colour to his chopper.

So basically the two prevailing views are:

1. I don't mind because it's only a minor change

2. I don't mind because we've just won the league

Fair enough but it raises an interesting question about how far we'd support change before crying foul...

And I thought last year's summer was long...

As long as Blue is the colour ...who gives a crap !

As long as the crest stays true to history ..who gives a Crap

As long as we always remain LCFC... Who gives a Crap

As long as we live we will always have 2015/16 ....everyone cares about that !

If the reason that some gold has been introduced is down to the owners/Thai Royalty colours, then why not? After all that they have done to put our club on the World stage how could anyone begrudge a gold trim to City's colours?  Apart from that, it looks good & quite unique. Personally I love the blue shirts & shorts. Compare our strip to Evertons & ours is 100% classier imo.

I think the blue and gold looks smart. The gold on the shirt and trophy ribbons are not a problem for me. Of course I'd always prefer white trim on the shirts, and with shorts and socks being white too while we're at it. But if it looks smart, subtle and they don't mess around with the basic principles of our identity then it's not a problem really.

As long as: 1) The badge stays branding free and true to our heritage. 2) The name stays as Leicester City Football Club. 3) The primary colour of the club is royal (reflex) blue. I think that's acceptable.

Most clubs throughout their history have undergone minor and major changes in image. Liverpool didn't wear all red and Coventry didn't wear sky blue until the mid-60s. For the record, both marked the beginning of pretty successful eras (by their different standards) in their history!

We've got it good with our owners. I often think if they ever read some of the comments on this forum they'd think we're properly ungrateful for what they've for our club and our city. As long as they don't do anything too drastic, you're not going to find me complaining over some gold on the shirt.

Depends how much they change it.

I'm quite happy with blue, white and gold.

They've done a lot for the club, I'm happy to add in a colour to recognise their impact.

Blue shorts looks better with the kit in my opinion and I think the gold trimmings look quite classy, I've always loved our white away kits so as long as they bring them out every few years I won't complain

Are all the players going to have to dye their hair red then?

even if we hadnt had the best season ever i still wouldnt complain about the growing amount of gold.

yes the new home strip barely has any white but football strips change all the time. remember when southampton dropped the white stripes for a season?

as for the ribbons on the trophy, i think blue and gold made it more "appropriate" for us as blue and white could be everton or chelsea or wigan lol

until the day comes when youre not allowed to wear anything but blue and gold before they let you in.........i wouldnt worry too much

Gold/yellow has been around as a third colour at the club for so long I can't see it being a big problem being the 2nd colour it seems to have brought plenty of good fortune!!

It's hardly on the scale of Cardiff changing to red is it ?

We haven't even changed the second kit to gold it's still white isn't it ? and even if we did it's not the first time

And I think it looks good with the blue makes it look a richer colour and it is unique - I'm glad the trophy looked different for us than for Chelsea.

I can't believe a bunch of grown men are getting hissy about a little bit of gold trim :)

I love the blue and gold , it's unique !

Unique it maybe but it's NOT Leicester's colours . They need to respect OUR clubs history and not try to re write it . Gold is so tacky , it's what you see old women pensioners wear as sandals and cheap jack gypsies wear in the teeth and ears . It looks naff and it's  only unique because no other cub would want to look so cheap  ( ok wolves ) but they don't count.

Just to allay your fears. I don't think they have the plan to replace white with yellow or gold. The owner's favorite colours are blue and white. In one of the past interviews, Vichai mentioned that one of the reasons he decided to invest in the club was because LCFC's blue and white colours happened to be his favourite colours and the same as King Power's official colours. I think the use of gold is one off. Perhaps to mark the new golden era of the Foxes.

For ****s sakes.

Getting bored of people banging on about blue and white.

We play in blue. I was in the queue for printing the other week for about an hour and I was leafing through the book in the club shop, the one with our kits over the years.

We've played in basically everything. The only consistent is blue.

We've changed our badge a bunch of times, we've had gold trim, white trim, white shorts, blue shirts, green away kit, LOADS of red kits, diagonal stripes, pin stripes, ****ing tiger print.

As long as the home shirt is mostly blue and it's got a fox on it, that's about as consistent as we've always been and need to be.

When the old chairmen switched about between blue and white shorts, brought in gold trim, put us in a red away shirt, nobody gave zero ****s.

But have a foreign owner change something because it's apparently lucky and it's time to start moaning? Jesus people.

We've just won the ****ing league, who cares?

I can honestly see them phasing out the orange/yellow fox on the badge and turning it gold as they've done on that toy

http://www.kingpoweronline.com/en/lcfc-champion-2016-cetoy

Working in graphics they've probably gone for the cheaper two-colour print job as the gold isn't miles off the yellow used on the normal crest. Don't think it'll become a permanent thing, although I wouldn't be surprised to see it a bit next season with us being champions

I personally don't mind the gold becoming our third colour as long as it never becomes dominant. Let's face it, under the Thais this has become a brilliant new era for us so having the gold parts introduced will look meaningful in historic photo books in 20 or so years time
