Mezeker Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 no price tags seem to have been reported, anybody know just about how much he would cost?
Ralph Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 The Ox has no end product. We couldn't carry him and Schlup. We would need a rowing boat in the river to retreave the ball every home game. Perhaps that could be a job for Pearson. It would be nice to see him back at work.

Dan Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 I think he's a lot better than Walcott. I'd take him if the price was right because I think we're a club where he'd get his career back on track. Doesn't strike me as a bad egg.
BenTheFox Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Reading some of these posts really does make me smile. We've really come a long way since the days of Mark DeVries and Momo Sylla.
IainHumewasalright Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Reading some of these posts really does make me smile. We've really come a long way since the days of Mark DeVries and Momo Sylla. Me too! Even last year when Riyad was not getting a game and we were playing without wingers, we would have bit Arsenal's arm off for Ox. how times change...
CockneyFox Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Perfect signing for us. Lost his way a bit with Arsenal and now England, Champions League experience, great competition for Mahrez and Albrighton. What's not to like?
lcfcsnow Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 I don't think I could accept his hop skip jump or whatever it is every match he enters the pitch

Doesn't strike me as a bad egg. I think I would rather have Walcott tbh a better finisher, similar pace and can play on the wing or join up with the striker.
RedSoxUK Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 PLEASE Walshy and Rudkin, don't be fooled by the Ox and Walcott, they're so far below our level it's unreal.
foxy boxing Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 the ox has had years at arsenal and never been a first team regular,we need to be aiming better than this, can't remember a single game he has played well in. he's not evan a regular for england
Gerard Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 PLEASE Walshy and Rudkin, don't be fooled by the Ox and Walcott, they're so far below our level it's unreal. He was brilliant that night against Bayern, if we could keep him fit and his injury problems aren't genetic I'd have him here in a heartbeat. I don't want Walcott as he's proved he has little awareness and speed is his only real asset. I don't want us to sign 27 year olds on a downward trajectory and I'm sure his ego wouldn't allow him to join Leicester City. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2578767/Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain-couldve-got-Bayern-team-Robben-needs-quit-unnecessary-theatrics-Martin-Keown.html
Dan Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 I think I would rather have Walcott tbh a better finisher, similar pace and can play on the wing or join up with the striker. Walcott's more of a forward anyway, Chamberlain's a wide man and has also played in midfield. I see more of a long-term future for him here than I do Walcott and he's on far more reasonable wages too. Arsenal very seldom get the best from their players in my eyes. We're the opposite and seem to manage to maximise nearly everyone. I could see him sorting his injury problems out here and becoming someone who most want starting for England. Like I say if the price is right I'd be quite happy with this one.
Koke Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Ox is better than Walcott and Ox does seem to at least have a brain. Walcott is a brain dead footballer. I'd take Ox if the price was right. He's on £55k a week at Arsenal so he's not out our wage budget. Walcott is on £140k a week, which is scandalous, but that's Arsenals problem. Also, Ox is 22 so he can still learn and improve. Walcott is 27 and is on a downward trajectory. I actually think it will be hard for Arsenal to ship Walcott out due to his shockingly high wages.
Dan Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Both should leave Arsenal. Neither will play to their strengths. Walcott I see as a poorer Vardy.
Wortho Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 I would rather keep our current wingers than sign Ox. Injured too much plus he always seems to make the wrong decisions on the pitch, brainless.
Koke Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 To be fair to Arsenal, they have gotten the best out of players over the last 6-7 years. RVP, Fabregas, Song, Nasri, Adebayor. They've just struggled lately with their British players in Ramsey, Wilshere, Walcott, Ox and Gibbs.
Koke Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Both should leave Arsenal. Neither will play to their strengths. Walcott I see as a poorer Vardy. Problem with Walcott is that he isn't good enough to be a winger. He can't dribble, can't beat a man, and he can't cross. And he isn't good enough to play as a striker since he can't lead the line well enough and isn't prolific enough to be relied upon. So he's in this no mans land and in the wilderness, and at 27 it's quite sad to see because this is supposed to be his prime years in his career.
thybluefox Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Walcott has killed his own career by rotting at Arsenal for 10 years. I feel for him, because each time he's decided to stay he's probably done it with the best intentions, but ultimately it's what's killed him as a footballer. Ox should be looking at Walcott and alarm bells should be ringing. If he stays at Arsenal, his career will be a mirror image of Walcott's. Maybe Theo can rescue himself if he moves on - I wouldn't want us to take the chance at £100k+ a week though. I'd snap Ox up in a heartbeat however. 22, bags of experience, not extortionate wages, still a lot of potential. No brainer as far as I'm concerned.

TheMightySystem Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Havent found a source but saw this tweet saying Arsenal have rejected £15.5 million for him. https://twitter.com/bluearmy/status/736201467657359360
