Parafox Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Is it any surprise? Poor finish only making Europa league, dismal style of play. Poor but expensive signings. Murhino to be announced as new manager within days.
indierich06 Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36356584 Seems to be.
Jon the Hat Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Well that came out of the blue. He was doing so well, what with missing out the Champions League, finishing lower in the league table and beating Palace in the FAcup-his-club-didn't-bother-to-defende-but-is-now-very-important-silverware. Mourinho and Abramovich in for shits & giggles!
AKCJ Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Man United are shocking at sacking managers. I know they haven't got experience but come on.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 the media are going to be ****ing disgusting when Mourinho goes there, let's hope it takes quicker than 3 years for it to go tits up
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 It'll be interesting to see what happens with Giggs - in some ways now would be the perfect time for someone in his position to take over.
Captain... Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Mourinho and Guardiola in the same city, that could be fun. Latest on BBC gossip is Ryan Giggs is not going to be his assistant so he wants Zlatan to come in as player assistant manager. That could be brilliant. They have a re-building job to do, Mourinho will want 4-5 big money signings to sort the team out.
theessexfox Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Been handled pretty disgracefully by the club really.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Been handled pretty disgracefully by the club really. Well - that depends where the leak came from. Possibly the same source that leaked the Moyes sacking?
theessexfox Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Well - that depends where the leak came from. Possibly the same source that leaked the Moyes sacking? To be honest I can't remember the manner of Moyes' sacking, but for it to be definitively reported a few days before it happened and his successor named is a tad disrespectful I find. I guess that can be the fault of one leak rather than the whole club, but still.
Wymsey Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Can't see it happening, but would love Man Utd to fail to gain Champions League next season again. Moyes apparently had a better record than Van Gaal, albeit 3/4 more points I think, and should've had more time after just replacing a managerial legend imo.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Wasn't it confirmed that the leaks were coming from Mendes rather than the club?
stevelcfc Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Regardless of what you think of LVG, the way Man Utd, apparently still the most valuable club in the world have handled themselves regarding this and indeed Moyes is abysmal.

I guess that can be the fault of one leak rather than the whole club, but still. Well clearly United had meetings with Mourhino to sound him out... but I suspect in this case the briefings that have been pretty constant since January probably came via Mendes (his agent), with a view to putting pressure on United to make the decision and to secure interest from summer transfer targets. If it was down to United, I expect they would have liked to have made the official statement this afternoon - it would have given LVG the weekend whatever the result and enabled them to sit down and sort out severance. The fact the press didn't give them that says more about them than the club in my mind. Mean didn't the story get pushed by the BBC whilst the team were walking up the steps to collect the trophy?
David Hankey Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Another of football's best kept secret. Irrespective of what LVG has achieved or not achieved the handling of his sacking could have been handled far better - but that's the Yanks for you. For their sake I hope Mourinho fits the bill but I doubt it.
purpleronnie Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 If Man Utd want an exciting style of play why would you get Mourinho?
sly1 Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Are we really bothered c,mon.really I can't see him doing aby good there
Donut Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Having two strikers on the pitch out of position during an FA Cup final and then playing Ashley Young as a striker alone should get you sacked.
Webbo Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 How many people who are disgusted by this felt the same when Holloway was sacked? He failed on the pitch and the fans didn't like him, that's football. He'll still do well out of the deal financially.
Kitchandro Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 I can't say I sympathise with him. He came here with an astonishing amount of misplaced arrogance and was lauded as some sort of god for his exploits with Holland, which were basically a very impressive performance against Spain followed by struggling his way past inferior nations via dodgy penalties and shootouts. Apparently he was a genius for subbing his goalkeeper against Costa Rica despite the fact he probably destroyed his 1st choice's confidence and then chose not to make the same decision in the next shootout - which they lost. In short, the arse licking he got before he came here (our beloved Martin aside) was embarrassing. The same sort of arse licking Mourinho gets for being an absolute nob. The shame is we'll now have to put up with him again. He's done an absolutely shocking job and I've enjoyed seeing him squirm since he's such a tosser.
m4DD0gg Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Shit manager but still feel for the way he has been treated. Plus he is one step away from full blown retard and amusing.
GaelicFox Posted 23 May 2016 Posted 23 May 2016 Was hoping he would stay till after the community shield We have got Jose the sack once .... Let's hope we start him off on the road to being sacked in August
Parafox Posted 23 May 2016 Author Posted 23 May 2016 Been handled pretty disgracefully by the club really. It was on some websites yesterday before the final, that LVG would be sacked shortly after the FA cup final. It took less than 24 hours for the press to report it today. Won't be official until dismissal terms are settled.
