foxes21 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Is it just me that would prefer us to be at home BEFORE every CL fixture? kind of agree.. Although we have easy fixtures after the champions league.. The fixtures before each cl game are really tough Liverpool (a) Man utd (a) Chelsea (a) Tottenham (a) Watford (a) Sunderland (a) holy fuch
Alexikokopops Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 WTF a Marsh junior?! Mazel tov. That's terrifying. You best raise him a Wales fan. THANKS. We have a deal. I get to indoctrinate him in the ways of Leicester, she gets to indoctrinate him in the ways of Wales. Specifically rugby, but I refuse to have a child that supports Wales for rugby and England for football so it will be Wales for football too. He/she is going to be born into a world where Leicester are Champions. Their Leicester supporting will peak at the time of their birth and just go downhill from there.

I'm thrilled.
Bayfox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Is it just me that would prefer us to be at home BEFORE every CL fixture? Not sure why, but think I would prefer to travel away the weekend before and have a home game upon returning. From the point of view, that if we play sunday, then we can travel away on a monday, which would be a rest day anyway in most cases. Travelling home on the weds or thursday depending on matchday, at least the players are then back home and we weren't travelling again the minute we get back. On a personal level, getting back on a thursday then having to think about getting to say, palace on the weekend as soon as I got back would be a ballache as well.
TiffToff88 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 How are the fixtures determined? Random draw or some other 'process'... I've looked into this further, and it turns out The Leicester Mercury actually ran an article based on a premierleague.com interview with the man responsible for arranging the fixtures. Here is the article. And like i said earlier, a hell of a lot of work seems to go into it
ThingsCouldGetMessi Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 A nice spread out fixture list this time. No hard or easy looking run of games anywhere on our schedule. First thing I actually noticed was that 2 of the 3 fixtures that we lost last season are inside the opening 4 games. We also have most of our "harder" away games in the 1st half of the campaign. Visits to Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs all fall before New Year with only Arsenal and Man City to worry about after. If we're doing well come January then this could bode well.
Mezeker Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 kind of agree.. Although we have easy fixtures after the champions league.. The fixtures before each cl game are really tough Liverpool (a) Man utd (a) Chelsea (a) Tottenham (a) Watford (a) Sunderland (a) holy fuch this is insane.

Last year we got off to a flier which I think really helped put us in good stead for the whole season. This year's fixture list has me feeling all doom merchant. I'm trying to shake it off. The fixtures we have before each Champion's League game are ridiculously difficult. Our top performers might be tired for the following weekend (except Kanté who obviously never tires). What might being lower mid table for a spell do to this team psychologically? I think over performing helped us ride a wave last year. These fixtures make it much harder to catch the wave.

Surely they can't be moved to Sunday, it's too close, only Friday is an option. These Friday dates are shite though because if they become an away game then we're all fvcked basically have to have half a day at work to make it.

Fox92 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 They can be moved to Sunday if we play CL on Wednesday after. Ah right. Hope Spurs away (/any London away game) remains a Saturday. And Liverpool too.

Think the tv companies don't give a shit and will do what they want, but Sunday/Wednesday is no Different to Sat/tues at then end of the day, this is just something we will have to learn to deal with.
purpleronnie Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Even after winning the title my mindset is still to look at the last 5 fixtures to see what we'll need to stay up.

I think over performing helped us ride a wave last year. These fixtures make it much harder to catch the wave. I think it is too easy and natural to be a doom merchant. Let's look at it from a different angle. A lot of teams won't fancy coming up against us and we are now respected as a good team. We have shown that we are capable of picking up results against any team at any venue. Our team spirit has been there since the NP era and we could even see it when we were bottom 15 months ago. I would argue our fitness regime has led to us having the fittest team for a few seasons now and helps us suffer fewer injuries (Arsenal need to come and learn how it's done). If we can keep hold of our key players and bring in the right sort of signings then there is no reason why we can't come in the top 4 again at least. Ranieri also knows how to cope with the extra games because he has done it before. There are plenty of reasons to be optimistic and I'm confident that the doom factor will soon disappear.
Thracian Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 It's amazing good fortune having home games after the Champions League but the sequence of league fixtures doesn't bother me. However you put it together we have to play everyone twice and all the worries about "difficult months" or "a tricky sequence of games" only served to galvanise our determination and had no negative impact on our progress at all. It's all about us and our attitude really. Last season our team seemed wear a collective "Can Do, Will Do" on their shirts and I just hope that the long legion of players we're supposed to be signing doesn't alter that. Of course we need more strength in depth but the big ingredient we need to retain is our incredible spirit. Everyone and his dog refers to wanting it but it's a once-in-a-lifetime blend we have and absolutely vital to all we have and all we might do.

The first three rounds at least they will be a Friday/Saturday. The TV picks for August/Sept/Oct are generally made before the season kicks off and, as a result, before the UCL draw. It means they can't gamble on placing UCL teams on a Sunday when it might end up being Sunday-Tuesday.
stretch1965 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Boxing day in the Western for a few before we stuff the toffees
UPinCarolina Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 That early run of away fixtures is a murderer's row. If we come out looking pretty on the other side of that, my hopes for the rest* of the season will be quite high.
foxes21 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 That early run of away fixtures is a murderer's row. If we come out looking pretty on the other side of that, my hopes for the reason of the season will be quite high. Liverpool (a) draw Man u (a) draw Chelsea (a) draw spurs (a) win watford (a) win sunderland (a) win we are more than capable of getting those results!!
ramaiya2 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 When do we play the big teams? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/leicester-city/fixtures I think that when we start to play the big teams our games will be changed to Sunday. I can see that happening on the 20/08/16 against Arsenal
phildw Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Pretty favourable for us. Nothing there to really make you wince. Really? What about the first 5 away games? Horrendous. Better pick up some points at home or else it could be a slow start.
