Spiritwalker Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 I just don't understand why clubs let their players run rings around them even when they are under contract. The club should offer a new fair contract at say 100k/week and tell him either sign the new contract or stay on the old one but either way you will be here for the next 3 seasons. If he is not happy send him for therapy.

Spiritwalker Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 That is why I suggested offering a new contract at 100k/week.

We will never be able to match what some clubs could pay, but we are in a position to pay a very good wage and he is still under a long term contract that he was happy with less than a year ago.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 If Mahrez wants to go, three options: You can go anywhere outside of England for £45m+ You can go to any English club for £75m+ You stay for one more year and if we don't qualify for Champions League you can go for £50m+ then
Vlad the Fox Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 So the owners get together to discuss speculation??? What the ****? vichai: Hey Top, have you seen the speculation? Top. : Yes dad. both of them: ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha,. Haaaaaaaaaaa haha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha . Ha ha ha ha,. Hahahah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ahm. Top. : Dad? vichai: yes son Top. : shall we get the chaps at the lcfc Twitter page to post another team picture without Mahrez in. Vichai : yes son both : whaaaaaaa ha ha ha ah ah aha ha ha ha haaaaaaaa
katieakita Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Why wouldn't the owners attend such a prestigious pre season friendly? Problem is Sky and the media cannot quite work out what we are about, they probably think we have Forest's owners and haven't got a pot to p1ss in. Prime example is Everton they had to get in a new manager, took a fair bit of time to sort him bring in a high profile scout into a DOF position get linked with loads of players but not buy them but because they have a billionaire owner they are massive. We have billionaire owners who have spent tens of millions on the club and already completed a huge overhaul transforming us from mid table championship to premier league winners in 5 or 6 years yet are tinpot according to the media. 5 years ago nobody had heard of King Power now they are known world wide with the City branding. Like many rich owners they have talked the talk but unlike the vast majority have delivered big time, there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest the club are not going to continue to push on, just bs from people trying to stir up rumours to keep them in a job.
who-izzet Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Hi Everyone.. I've not been on these forums for a few years. I wanted to catch up on the latest REAL news on the Mahrez situation. 1 paper in particular (a few weeks ago) printed. "Barcelona will not be signing Mahrez", only to print the day after. "Barcelona have agreed a fee with Leicester for Mahrez". Arsenal & Chelsea are all heavily linked. Ranieri has said 3 times Mahrez basically isn't leaving or hasn't asked for a move. I don't know how true the other link is but apparently Mahrez's agent say's he's not moving. My perspective on this is (perhaps biased) Mahrez should give it until January and re-asses.. He's a good age. Surely will get at least a £65k pay rise.. Personally I think it should be £120k a week as he's the Barclays Player of the season. Also we'd never struggle to sell him as he wouldn't struggle for a move so no worries about off loading his wage. However, is it just me or does he seem slightly withdrawn off the pitch? or is this purely because he's a quiet lad? Kante always seemed withdrawn from the bond to me and I expected it would just be him leaving this summer. I hope Mahrez comments soon on the situation. Not only for biased reasons but I hope he signs for the good of football. We witnessed the most beautiful things with our own team THE UNDERDOGS winning the top league but how ugly is it if the plastic teams can still sign the champions players. Besides if Arsenal fail to sign him, their wonderful fans can all sing "Wenger out" again, just as they do every time the club doesn't win a game or like when Vardy didn't sign.
MrKåmark Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 No matter how rich you are its gotta be hard not to be interested by £40m. i get my head turned at a tenner, remember they are business men, it will be all about how much they can get for him, every man has his price
HankMarvin Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Offer him money on par with Vardy, with high bonus incentives goals scored Bpl/UCL assists Bpl/UCL bpl poy etc if he doesn't sign leave him on his current deal. if he sulks or doesn't perform then it will affect his potential suitors who may see him as a one season wonder. the club have the power, I don't think they should be held to ransom if he is offered over 100k a year plus a good bonus structure
Hitesh Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 How is this even a story? Im sure the owners meet the players through the season given how much they're down at the training ground and on match day. I'm also sure they wouldn't miss out on a trip to the States, a potentially lucrative opportunity for them. And why not meet the players there. They probably won't discuss contracts with players without agents either! A nothing story...
Fox in the Forest Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 I've been using NewsNow for years as a source of updates abou our club, and to be fair over the last few years it's been a pretty good resource to find out the latest on LCFC. Of course the re's always been the Vital Football, ClubCall, HITC etc click baits to ignore, but this transfer window has been something else! I've never before seen so much regurgitated, unsubstantiated, crap recycled, based on single tweeats & made up shiz than this summer. In some ways it helps you to understand how Arse fans are; I hope we never become that!!! Not NN fault, they just trawl for headlines, but the amount of utter crud now we're "news" is unreal. Can't wait to laugh in everyone's faces come September 1st!!
foxy boxing Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 it is time the owners put their foot down,we are offering these players great contracts and are on an upward trajectory and have just won the league, this is not the time to be jumping ship and angling for a move,
Socks Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 we should do everything possible to keep him, give him 200,000 a week cant believe they let Kante go, that's a massive blow already, gutted, one of our best players ever

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 It's all mere speculation! However, the Mahrez situation needs to be resolved quickly, as we could miss out on some targets if we leave it much longer.

It is the valuation of the club that counts. We don't want to sell so any buyer would have to pay way in excess of £40m (£65-£70m imo) or he stays.

What idiocy. When was the last time Arsenal had a player who performed to a level for one campaign where they got 11 assists and 17 goals? He outperformed everyone in their team last season for goals, even the strikers, and only Özil eclipsed him for assists. Better than Alexis Sanchez's two seasons for Arsenal as well. PFA Player of the Year and he was hardly shit before. £45mil absolute minimum in today's market. If Mahrez is happy to play on for us (which we are led to believe by Claudio he is), then Arsenal can stop noncing around with pathetic fees and pay up or take a hike.

He's a difference maker. They're not too common. I think we've got a lot of hard work in the team, a good level of ability & of course team spirit to get us through.... but it's players like Kante & Mahrez who make the difference. We should've played hardball with any player with more than a year left on their contracts and promised (contracted if need be) them a move if they want it next summer. If any player is a bit down over it, **** them... they'll soon liven up when we're running out at Wembley, defending our title & playing in the Champions League, especially as they'll be in the shop window to more successful clubs than the past decade's Arsenal too
SheppyFox Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 Our owners are absolute class acts, I wouldn't swap them for anyone else in the world. In my opinion whatever they do will have the best interests of the club at heart, whether it pans out well or not.
