Guest CityFan 06 Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 Actually a real bonus for us that he's staying as well as taking up the England role. Knows the current group of players ever so well, and the lads know him likewise which is important. I've noticed at a lot of games Claudio & Shakespeare have discussions with each other on what we need to do in any particular period of play. Having someone like that who knows the players to such a degree is vital because he will know how to get the best out of them.
Stevosevic Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 Would have worried if he was leaving to take up the role.
sm1 Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 Great news for him personally, hope he does well. It's been a while since we had a real English core to the international team with coaches who have extensive knowledge of the English game. On the flip side if we have more then one player starting for England, the press will go crazy with accusations of nepotism.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 19 August 2016 Posted 19 August 2016 Should be our next manager in four years imo
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 19 August 2016 Posted 19 August 2016 Great move for him. Glad he's staying here at Leicester as well though, he's key.

Has to be good news for drinky... and maybe it would see us get more out of vardy too? Albrighton might not be a regular for us this season so i dont think he will get too involved...
RedSoxUK Posted 19 August 2016 Posted 19 August 2016 Certainly impressive to be wanted for an England role! Remember during Soccer Aid this year, although no way near a logical explanation or example; Big Sam taking charge of the England team must have noticed Shakespeare leading RoW out doing some intensive and rather useful training pre-match whereas the England team did next to nothing... Yeah it doesn't say much; but people in management must recgonise how our training ground development has helped our rise from Championship winners to PL winners. Although a coaching role, I fully expect Shakespeare to take the leap in to full management within the next few years, hopefully with us. He's been a very big asset to us.
yorkie1999 Posted 19 August 2016 Posted 19 August 2016 Got to start singing one Craig Shakespeare at matches
Guest Manini Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 I want him to be our next manager when Claudio retires.
AyewJoking Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 he is a success here working with players who are willing to work hard and have desire. unless the fa change their player selection criteria, whats the point? might put money on marc albrighton winning his first england cap though.
WiFoxes Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Well deserved. I still remember how happy I was when I heard he was staying on last season. Think Shakey staying was a huge part in last season's success.
