If you were offered a position to end the season in NOW, what would be the worst you'd take?

For me it would be 6th, If I was offered 6th now I'd take it.

I genuinely feel this season is going to be a lot more difficult and the opposition will be a different kettle of fish.

Arsenal - Same old for them, strong team that will be in the top 4

United - Could be anything under mourinho, expect them to fight for top 3

City - Could be anything in their first season under pep, top 3

Spurs - If they improve on last season, top 3

Liverpool - 2nd Season Klopp, could improve massively

West ham - 2nd season under bilic, could improve massively

Chelsea - Could be anything under Conte

Everton - Been inconsistent but new manager.

With all these new managers and fresh faces it will be another roller coaster season, but with the teams above (who let's be honest, underperformed last season) making changes anything could happen, but I feel there is an opportunity to go for Europe again.

What would you take NOW?

9th otherwise we'd suffer the indignity of having the worst ever title defence (10th joint with Chelsea).

14th if we reached CL knock out.  I'd be disappointed for sure, but I certainly wouldn't be complaining too much so long as it's not down to lack of endeavour.  Content with top half and very happy with top 7.

I think ur post is spot on,

if you look back to the team that started against Everton on are return to the premier league,to what we have now,on top of last seasons heroics,I think as expectation levels go then 6th should be the least to expect,

and with the ambitious owners we have I don't think for 1 minute that the would accept

a title winning season to go and consolidate or be in a dog fight, they'll look to keeping us as a champions league contending side

there is no excuse to get over 8. apart from the big boys + west ham and everton i don't see any chance of other team playing better then us .so yeah the worst for me is 8. the best i guess is from the title:ph34r: to the 3rd:D

Fair few saying 1st - 4th at the moment, very ambitious! Don't blame them though!

I voted 1st-4th, not because of ambition though. I'm just not worried about relegation and the perks of finishing 5th or 6th aren't worth taking that if offered it.

I said 6th but I'd rather have 7th to be honest, Really don't wan't Europa league if we can avoid it, but I'll take it if it's all we have on offer, if we do well in a cup then I'd rather have 7th and avoid the mess that is the EL

Yes, 6th place would do me, particularly if it included another European qualification.

I'd also accept mere Premier League survival with a cup victory or a run to the Champions League quarter-finals.

Lastly, I'd gladly accept us being the first team ever to win the Champions League and get relegated in the same season.

The worst position I'd take is obviously 17th!  As long as we didn't go down.

For the sake of the club and for us to continue to move forward we have to finish in a European spot.

A lot had been said in the media with Claudio saying the target is 40 points, but he is just managing expectation.  He know the club, the players, the owners and fans all expect more and that's what will be said behind closed doors, but he is managing the expectation of the media!  He's been burnt by the media in this country before and doesn't trust them, he made light of it all a few times last season, especially when he referred to them as his sharks.

He knows eyes will be on us and he knows many will be expecting, almost hoping, for us to fail, just so they can say "told you so".  He's protecting his players from this, and I believe it's a very clever tactic.  I would expect the minimum expectation within the club is a top 10 finish and qualification for the knock out round in the champions league.

Before last season I was one of the many fans up and down the country falling out of love with the FA cup, but now that we have achieved what we have, the FA cup is the only thing missing.  Europa league and a good cup run and I'll be very happy.

I'd tell them to piss off. Why on earth would you want to know how the season will go? There would literally be no point, you might as well just relive last year on and on.

Anything lower then 6th and we will have let ourselves down. The pundits will be rubbing their hands together and drooling at the prospect of saying "I told you, Leicester were a one season wonder". Target has got to be the title with worse case scenario being 6th, anything lower would be a disaster. We are the Champions and true Champions must attempt to remain in the throne.

I'd take top 4.

I don't think we will finish in the top 4 but there is a chance (I don't think all of these teams that were miles behind us last season will miraculously become world beaters because they've got a new manager and signed somebody overrated or past their best).

So if I feel there's a chance of the top 4 I'd be stupid to take anything less.

This team should be finishing top 7. Losing Kante is the difference between title challengers and upper midtable. He's that good and likewise if Chelsea shoot up the table he'll be the main reason why.
