Ran back to Hull in time for kick off and we would have won the game right that's the last time I'm mentioning Kante. Know I have to move on..... but difficult It's true as a professional and a person I love Andy King, but he wasn't in the starting line up much if at all last year, so starting him now for me is just because we had little other option.
Ted Maul Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Sorry mate, he was awful today, went missing. Physicality was the only way Hull were going to get a result, and having Kingy in a midfield 2 played right into their hands. Probably more Claudio's fault than his though. Nowhere to be seen on the edge of the box for the 2 attacks which led to their second goal.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 King, King, Andy Andy King, He gets the ball, he does fook all, Andy Andy King.
foxes21 Posted 13 August 2016 Author Posted 13 August 2016 I'm not saying he wasn't shit today, he was. I'm just saying he's not being utilized correctly when he does play.
TMELcfc Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I'm sure he'd be fine in a three man midfield, but we look so lightweight in centre mid without Kante! Like watching the old Leicester, so I'm expecting Ranieri to show us what his plan B is soon, be arse all I saw was long aimless balls in the second half.
lgfualol Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I was called a prima donna for saying playing king and drinky in a midfield 2 would be giving them a chance. Though, I didn't expect the whole team to be massively shit.
Kitchandro Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I think King is ok if he's used correctly, he's not Kante and playing him as essentially Kante's replacement was madness. He couldn't be more ineffective if he tried. It's not only that though, it's his refusal to play positive passes when we're a side that thrives on them.
Callabinho Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 He is utter dog shit. ****ing useless in fact.
HankMarvin Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 King looked like he had concrete boots on when the hull player whizzed past him and he slid and lashed out but was to slow to even get the foul
ARTY_FOX Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 He needs to played in a way that allows him to attack more

Exactly king isn't kante, never has been never will be. Preseason showed king and Danny don't play well together. Claudio made the wrong call.
MattCan Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Many positions have been affected by the absence of Kante. Of course, the midfield suffered the most. I still don't get it why Ranieri started him today. tho. Maybe even Ranieri underestimated Hull.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 he's a useful player, but if he's our go to if Mendy's not available then we've got some serious issues.
Jimmy Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 he's just not suited to a 2 man CM partnership, great for a 3 man though as the guy to get forward
stevelcfc Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 King was no worse than anyone else on the pitch. Stop scapegoating, the guy is a legend.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Anyone else think that our go to cover for this role should Mendy be out is James?

Russell sprout Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Andy King is a player you bring on to see the game out

sm1 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 He's a great goalscoring midfielder not a box to box midfielder who breaks up play, acting like a shield in front of the defence, then carrying the ball right at the heart of the oppositions defence.
dpjfox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 King is a squad player , to help out when we need a goal, today has brought home the fact we need a strong mobile defensive midfielder
tyfox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 King can't play in a 2 we need 3 to be able to use him but IMO he's not good enough to be a starter
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Great post and glad someone thinks alike as me. King is a real asset to us, but we have to utilize him to his strengths. Not actually overly concerned about the centre midfield area personally, our need is for striker investment IMO and needing another way to play.
