It has to be in new defensive midfielder we're weaker than last season in that department, we are the Champions and in the Champions league and surely have pots of cash to spend, this is our opportunity to attract quality players so let's do it!

I agree completely we will not have this much pull power for a very long time after this. I understand the club wants to stick to its roots that has got us here, but we should be aiming higher.

If we lose Peredes to Liverpool I'll be a bit miffed......he seems to fit what we want.

Exactly. If this guy has the right attitude we get get him in.

Mendy will be fine in CM but as Merging said I'd like a big strong alternative too.

We've gone all in on speed but that has meant we are small and lightweight too.

The very minimum is an unbelievable CDM.

Perhaps we could see the two CDM we've bought already start a competitive game in that position first?

This should be the preference.  A midfield 3 of Amartey, Drinkwater and Mendy and a front interchangeable 3 of Vardy/Musa/Gray/Okazaki/Albrighton/Ulloa/Schlupp (if by some miracle he stays) looks like it would serve better than persisting with the 4-4-2.

It will be very interesting to see how we line up against Arsenal.

Agree, with a few on here need a RB,CB,CM,ST, we also to change formation to 3 in the middle.

RB- Fosu Mensah on a season long loan

CB- Keane or Kone

CM-N'Zonzi

ST-Slimini

I hope Mendy can do the business.

Amartey worries me as to how alien he looks on the ball.  And Ranieri seems to slot him in as a RB too, which is odd.  I think we need another obvious CDM.

The transfer policy has clearly taken a hit since Walsh left. What the **** happened to Lucas Perez? He was set to sign by the end of the week at one point?

IO was reasonably happy with business so far a couple of weeks ago, but now I think we've been robbed of knowing just where are team are in terms of fitness of both Body and Mind. I feel the pre-season was crazy for us to undertake, and it has done us far more harm than good. So from what I can see now we need to spend more......

A RB (I thought RDL was on his way to the villa which only leaves us with Simpson and the Benny option) is a must. We also need a good ball winner/holding CB, although we don't lack numbers in that area Was is dependable as is Morgan, but they are both slowing a little now...just hope they pick it up a bit by Saturday, Huth (we needed him on Saturday) and Hernandez are quality players and Moore needs time.

I wasn't expecting wholesale additions nor should their be, but I do find it surprising as to why we cannot attract more real high end stars to the club. Although if we have consistent success in the top flight that will be the difference.

IMO we need a box-to-box midfielder because Mendy & King aren't it, anything else and I fear for us playing a midfield duo this season (which will mean a change of system, something we've not been capable of for years)

We also need a recognised RB with RDL going, I don't think we can simply stick Hernandez/Benny out there at the level we're competing at.

Also, Simpson has looked like a walking red card the past couple of games.

Then IMO we need a certain je ne sais quoi

I am starting to rethink we might need another CM, but for me, one who is experienced and knows what CL football is all about.

Perhaps hard to come by but I think we need players in the dressing room who have been in the competition before. Inler has I believe and maybe a few others in our squad (not sure off the top of my head though?).

Huth, Musa, Amartey (sort of), Fuchs, Wasyl and Ron Rob I make it

First choice right back, Trippier or Bruno Peres

A younger centre back, Keane or Veltman

Tough tackling centre mid

Striker, Ings, Rondon or Callum Wilson
