foxinsox Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 7-8's all round apart from Mahrez on a 6. He has a frustrating inconsistency.
kingfox Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 10 - Amartey 8 - Morgan, Drinkwater, Okazaki 7 - Fuchs, Huth, Simpson, Vardy 6 - Schmeichel, Zieler, Albrighton 5 - Mahrez
Fox92 Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Thought everybody was good today, it was a superb performance all round and we should have scored more than 2. Amartey MOTM though, superb performance.
NewquayFox Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Amartay MOM 10 Drinky & Vardy 9 Back 4 7s Kasper & Okazaki 6s Albrighton 5 Mahrez 4 (when will the real magician return) Up the City....
iancognito Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Amartey 9, Wes 8, the rest 7s apart from Mahrez with 5 because he's just not got an answer to being double marked and is a shadow of the player who was incredible from August to March last season. Only a 7 for Ranieri because at 2-0 having missed a pen and lost our keeper I didn't think we needed to go more attacking with Musa and Ulloa. We looked a bit too open nad Gray for Mahrez was more logical.
Chester Dontlie Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 9 - maestro & Amartey (MOTM) 8 - Shinji, Drinkwater, Huth 7 - Wes, Simpson, Vards, Schmeichel, Zieler 6 - Albrighton, Fuchs 4 - Mahrez Still in awe with Amartey's performance. DD and Okazaki are absolute powerhouses. It's great to see Shinji improve his game so much. Hopefully him, Vardy and Mahrez will link up even better now. Speaking of Riyad, he looked like Rain Man who has lost the count Hopefully his bad spell will be over as soon as the transfer window closes. And since nobody except SpursInPeace wants Harry gaping Kane to be top scorer again, Vards should be taking all the penalties from now on The ref was good. The Swans were rather poor except for Fabiański, who could've let in a couple more but he didn't. Also, I don't remember him making a single save in two penalty shootouts for Poland at the Euros, yet he has absolutely no trouble saving Mahrez's penalty (hint hint Claudio)
ScouseFox Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 we've played 3 games this season, we were all rubbish in one, mahrez was great in one and he was alright in another but missed a penalty. some of the over reactions in here and the match thread are mental.
WigstonWanderer Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Mostly 7s and 8s, 9 for Dannys Drinkwater and Amartey, 5 for Mahrez. Actually that's probably a bit harsh on Riyad, he had a few nice touches. He needs to vary his game and start passing a bit more.
biggs Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Drinkwater again motm for me. Amartey played in a fashion we've been waiting to see but still have to give it to DD Thought Mahrez got himself into good positions for the most part but when we compare his play to last year , his decision making is below expectations. He'll be flying high soon and we will be up the table in no time
eastendfox Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Amartey, Drinkwater, Shinji all great as everyone has said. Add Simpson, Huth, Morgan also had good games. Mahrez was in and out of the game, but same could also be said of Vardy who doesn't look fit to me, a few great moments but too often not in the right place particularly when we dominated first half. Swansea were shocking, we felt sorry for Sigurdsson who was clearly a cut above them. Ref was so so, like he usually is.
Dickov22 Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Kasper 7 Sweeper keeper on a couple of ocassions Simpson 8 Time and time again he saves us at the back post. Always seems to be in the right place Morgan 8 His goal wasn't as easy as it seemed. Commanding performance Huth 7 Solid Fuchs 5 Thought their winger had the beating of him. He isn't playing to the standards he set last season Mahrez 6 Thought he did OK in patches Drinkwater 9 MOTM. Everywhere and the pass to Vardy was sublime. Perfect performance Amartey 9 Really good also. Great engine on him and did the dirty work well allowing Drinkwater to dictate the game Albrighton 7 Worked his socks off. Good performance from him Vardy 8 He's such a great outlet for us. Took his goal brilliantly and he gets most of the credit for winning us the penalty Okazaki 8 Best I've seen him play for us. Shame he couldn't add the goal his performance deserved
MurphyMagic Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Drinkwater bossed it, comfortably the best player on the pitch. Shinji and Amartey were also excellent.
okie fox Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Schmeichel 6 Only trouble he had was of his own making Simpson 7 Covered well Morgan 7 Steady Huth 7 Usual composed performance Fuchs 6 Had hands full with Barrow Mahrez 5 Slowed play and then lost the ball too many times. Weak defensively, poor penalty Drinkwater 9 Set up first goal & always involved Amartey 8 Kante-like Albrighton 7 Helped out a lot in defence Vardy 7 Well taken goal Okazaki 7 Much improved Zieler 6 Not much to do Ulloa 6 OK Must 6 OK Ranieri 7 No complaints Swansea 4 Will struggle this season Ref 6 Average
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Kasper - 7 - Was doing well at dealing with some tricky situations until his injury Simpson - 7 - Some good moments going forward, some others where he could get a little tighter to his man. Wes - 8 - Extra point for the goal, did well in he main Huth - 7 - Solid Fuchs - 5 - Poor clearance lead to their goal as did his lack of closing down the cross and Barrow had him once or twice. Not playing to the standards he's set himself. Amartey - 8.5 - Faded in the second half a little but excelled in the first. Lots to be encouraged about. Drinkwater - 9 - MOTM. So much good one touch stuff, ran the show. Best English midfielder there is currently. Albrighton - 6.5 - Defensively sound as usual, standard fantastic workrate but a little wasteful attacking. Mahrez - 5 - Missed pen and some poor decision making. Still played a part in our goal and is worth having in the side. Vardy - 7.5 - Great for him to get off the mark, still looks a little tired but he'll soon be up to speed. Okazaki - 8 - Excellent link up and worked himself into the ground.
Sionnach gorm Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 For me the most important thing is that we are beginning to go in the right direction. I give Ranieri the plaudits for that. We started miserably and we are beginning to move forward. This is what a good manager does, and we have one.
DennisNedry Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Amartey, Drinkwater the top men. Shinji played very well. Mahrez was poor.
majaco Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 I think Mahrez is being under-rated. There are times when he is our least effective player. My friend was concerned that he wasn't beating enough people. In hus defence, the oposition are so scared of him that he creates a lot of space. He played some exceptional passes in some great moves. His penalty was poor; we have better players for that. Based on Saturday, could it be possible that Amartey may offer even more than Kante? Am I suffering from one-eyed optimism?
drofmor56 Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Agree Mahrez is being under rated...now doing a lot more defence wise (since he was dropped against Norwich last season) and he always gives other players a get out option when they are under pressure. Hence he often receives the ball when he is being marked, but still controls it and more often than not passes it on. also being doubled up on by the opposition when he tries to dribble he takes defenders away from our other players.
BrummieFOX Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Shinj and Drinkwater look hungry this season. Can't help but think Drinks being left out in the summer will benefit us big time. He's somehow stepped up another level from last season. More varied and quicker passing, winning more of the ball and the accuracy of his long range passing looks to have improved too. If he adds goals to his game he could genuinely challenge some of the worlds best.
Wymsey Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Anyone else noticed that when you do the survey you get a thank you message, but when you reopen the thread the survey comes up again?
