Flawless penalty taker? Sign him up. No more Mahrez pens from now on Insha Allah.

I recall one missed penalty by Adrien Silva in about 20 penalties taken in the last 3 seasons.

He has a ratio of >95% success in penalties.

He's one of world's best penalty kick takers.

In the Portugal National Team squad he's even better than Ronaldo in that particular skill.

Think this is a further example of Ranieri potentially playing the 4-3-3, especially in the tougher games

But we've not tried this have we?

He will get 20 goals a season with us then, with how many pens we get.

Not with the personnel we could potential have...

So you're just guessing really.

Well that would be retarded, he's one of our most creative players. We saw against Hull how stifled he was.

I'm not sure this bloke fits into our starting 11 at all.

Yes he is, but between the 2 he is more likely to go back and do the dirty work.

Or maybe even the diamond

              Mendy

 Drink water        Silva

               Mahrez

        Vardy  Musa

Lots of options with the new personnel

Pretty much, but I feel 433 could work better with silva and Slimani for us than in the past when it didn't quite work out.

We get loads of pens, don't we. Guess it's due to how direct we are, in and around the box.

Ironically, if Slimani signs, I expect more crosses to go in, so less direct, less pens, yet we may have the best pen taker in our side!

They will hold and grab silmani. More pens

All I know about Slimani is that he is amazing on Fifa.

This is the way to sign players imo

Assuming we get him and Slimani

how is Silva going to replace either of Amartey or Drinkwater any time soon?

how is Slimani going to replace Shinji?

the three players they are up against were 1.2 & 3 in out best performers Saturday

i can't see them waltzing into the side easily?

we'd have an extremely expensive bench - cracking on for £90m

Hi guys, Sporting fan here.

Just signed in to clarify some things I've been reading both here and on the Slimani thread.

First of all, our name is Sporting Clube de Portugal, so, instead of calling us Sporting Lisbon (that is an insult to us, very used by our rivals) you should call us Sporting Portugal.

Secondly, we're not bankrupt. Very short explanation: 2013 we we're on the edge of the end, due to continuous ruinous managment of our directors and presidents. Our current president came in and had to renegociate our debt with the banks. So, a percentage of the money we receive from the players tranfers goes directly to the banks.

Fortunately, the president did a great financial managment and right now the debt is the smaller compared to our rivals'.

Also, with the money of the Champions League and João Mario's transfer, we're more than good with the available funds.

With these points out of the way, I'm going to leave my opinion about the current rumours.

I guess Slimani is going to join you, which is a huge loss to us. Adrien is going to be more difficult, and I'm not seeing our president let go of any of them easy. He's known for being very thuf and decided with the club's interests.

Also, if both happen to leave our club, don't be surprised if Adrien goes for a bigger fee, since we have 100% of Adrien and only 80% of Slimani's pass.

Anyways, altough I like your club very much (who doesn't after last season :P ) I really hope both stay here.

Saudações Leoninas!

Thankfully it's not a 3 game season, like Kante & Fuchs last season they will have to wait for there chance to impress, amazing options to have on the bench though Musa Silva and slimani... Not that I could see them being sat on the bench for long

Ever thought Silva could actually be bought to replace/compete with Shinji?

Sit a bit deeper, allow us to play Musa wide with Mahrez?

I don't see it this way.

I'm assuming that as we'll have so many games they'll all get game time. Maybe Drinkwater and Silva will rotate as will Shinji and Slimani?!

Have a feeling we're going to see more tinkerman than thinkerman this season.

Everyone in England calls your club Sporting Lisbon,  it is not supposed to be an insult.  Its the same with Bayern Munich. It's not correct but its the English way, however from now on I will refer to your team as Sporting :)

I think we all understand how painful it is to loose good players to teams with larger budgets. Leicester have lost many players in this way.

Thank you for your appreciation of our last season. I watched the game yesterday and Sporting were fabulous.  I was very impressed. However I can not say I was impressed with Porto. I am feeling positive that we can win our champions league group.
