Stevosevic Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Daily mail seem to think both will happen. Who knows!
Micky Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 I predict that Silva will not be coming to Leicester. This place will be embarrassing.
SadaDz Leister Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Adrien Silva will officialy join the Foxes ! what do you think about this player ? Source : http://www.sadadz.com/sporting-lisbons-player-adrien-silva-confirms-leicester-city-transfer/
tsintskaro Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 hopefully just 2 days before window closes and there will be no more another rumor every other day
benpicko Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 I think I trust sources close to Sporting more than I do Algerian sources that look like that tbh

However, that doesn't mean he's signed (yet).
TripAdvisor Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Sporting hasnt received any bid for him. And refers that Adrien is a Sporting player, with his contract renewed in 2016. https://www.facebook.com/SportingClubePortugal/
Tielemans63 Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Could just as easily be Sporting's directors trying to save face? They're not going to want their fans to think they just gave up without a fight are they? The key factor for me is the comments from Silva. If they were fabricated or manipulated by the Portuguese media then by now I'd have expected Silva to have come out and clarified or denied those comments. I think that we're probably in the last stages of negotiation. It's hardly out fault that he's made those comments is it? Why would they negotiate more aggressively because of something a player said? We can't control that.

I think it's clear from this that signing Silva is very unlikely with just 2 days left of the window.

chapero82 Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Because of all the news we have had throughout the day on the successive interventions of the representatives of the player Adrien Silva in the Media, Sporting SAD sees itself obliged to clarify the following: 1 - Since the player renewed his contract in February 2016 involving large sums of money, it was absolutely clear that this extension of the attachment to the Sporting CP meant Adrien Silva would get the club until the end of his career. This has been said and clearly expressed by the President of Sporting Clube de Portugal to the player, the father of the athlete and their representatives before consummating the renewal of the contract. 2 - In addition the player Adrien Silva gave an interview on May 23 in which he said he would not leave without the Sporting Champion in absolute harmony moreover with what is agreed since. 3 - Never, over these months, was transmitted to the President of Sporting CP any intention or concrete proposal to the output Adrien Silva Club or the President met with the father of the athlete or their representatives for this purpose, so if someone he walked to deceive the player were their representatives and not Sporting CP. 4 - Adrien Silva is a player of Sporting CP, with contract professional who always know to respect the club which trained him as a man and as an athlete, as well as all Sportinguistas who see in him an example to follow. 5 - Sporting CP, and in particular its President, will always have to defend the interests of the club but also the defense of its assets as a top note of their action. 6 - It is understandable that at this stage, agents and representatives of the athletes are enormous destabilization and pressure factor on the players, never should the Club and its members fail to have a care for them for actions that only occur under the influence of the 3rd.

Ric Flair Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Let's see how this one plays out. One hing is clear, Sporting have never been the easiest to get players from. We had bother when we tried to get that winger 2 seasons ago on deadline day. They first appeared willing to sell and then moved the goal posts.

Doesn't explain the player's comments though? Unless Silva himself has been a bit foolish. All seems a bit strange to me. They think because he signed a new contract that he'll stay for life? Do they know football?
Brooksy Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Didn't want him anyway everyone back to the nzonzi thread

Sporting confirms his interview but also stands that we should understand that football agents do exist and sometimes they screw up. That we shouldnt judge the player. I dont really think we are just making it though, honestly. He will not leave unless you'll play his clause. We do not need to sell, so there is no point. We're aiming to be champions again, since that doesn't happen in a long time. So we're trying hard to keep the squad. Our president is a really though Sporting fan as well. This official statement is to answer all the rumours and to keep on track of what our manager said. Some players want leave, we know, but we can't let them all leave, at least now. Selling him for less than his clause would make the Sporting fans really angry, honestly.
Izzy Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Another case of premature ejaculation on this forum by the looks of it!
