Lesteban Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Sporting do have debt, but with recent sales probably isn't as bad as some on here think: http://markets.ft.com/data/equities/tearsheet/financials?s=0O53:LSE&subview=BalanceSheet they had €130m of debt on their 2015 financial reports, €228m total liabilities. But since then they have sold plenty of talent, could easily be considerably lower now. They've made €20m+ profit on transfers since then (net) and Slimani will increase that considerably. If they've been losing money elsewhere, they may still be forced to sell Silva.
st albans fox Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 They know we have money and they need money. they will push us as far as they can in both deals. I can see the silva one not being done in time - just hope the slimani one doesn't fall apart because of issues over silva. That would bring back the conspiracy theorists ( almost spent - 50m actually spent - nowt) come on vichai - a week in Bangkok for the president should seal it!
ARM1968 Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Hopefully business sense will out weigh the hyperbole in the end. Sporting need money and are seriously in debt. Their creditors, whilst wishing Sporting get the best price, will also want them to get something. Pressure on both ends for them. Add ds to that the players obvious wish to move and you have a recipe for successful negotiation. I should imagine £50 million will do it. A lot of money but around half of Pogba's actual fee. we can get this done and I think we should get it done.
kingfox Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 That's that then deal off, we're gonna end up with James McCarthy
Jimbo Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Do you think that while our representatives were over there someone from sporting let slip about the amount of debt they're in, so rudkin made a quick call to Claudio and asked if there was anyone else he wanted because we could get him on the cheap? I hope what ever business we need to get done is completed before Wednesday, or I'm not doing anything at work other than watching sky sports news all day, constantly refreshing pages on here and following Liam on twitter to see where the plane is

But i doubt we would sell him for anything under his release clause since we already lost João Mário to Inter and now Slimani. We're trying to win a league title here, stop stealing our key players! I never thought I'd see the day when Leicester waltzed in to a club like Sporting Lisbon and took their best players.
Matt Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Vichai and the Sporting Lisbon representatives right now, The case chained to Vichai's wrist.

MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 I just checked on the wages Silva and Slimani are on. If correct, Silva is on about 40K/week and Slimani is on around 15K/per week. Since they are both locked in at Sporting until 2020, you can imagine how peeved they would be if a deal is not done. They would certainly get a big boost at Leicester. Sporting is looking at some very unhappy players if they don't get this done.
SheppyFox Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 I don't care if their team falls apart, I'm going to be as selfish and shallow as the rest of the footballing world, nice to be the bully for a change!

ARM1968 Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 That and their debt is why I think this will be done. Makes massive sense for both parties.

LCFCABC Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Smacks of; "Let us buy Silmani for £24M or we'll buy both Silmani and Silva for £50M" Doubt we'll end up with both of them
Luis_R Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 WARNING: this interview was given to the newspaper OJOGO (unofficial newspaper FCShit (FC Porto) before Euro2016, as yesterday lost to Sporting Clube Portugal, was launched today to destabilize.
ARM1968 Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 I think we'll do it. Net spend so far is negligible. Adding these two substantially strengthens our squad.

fazzyfox Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Apparently he's having second thoughts after hearing that being a SILVA means he's unlikely to be able to be involved in more than just a handful of games this season as per club policy (the free wallet was appealing though).

Koke Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 65m euros comes to 55m pounds. Which is 27.5m for each. Though it's probably 30 for Slimani and 25 for Adrien.
