Sporting confirms his interview but also stands that we should understand that football agents do exist and sometimes they screw up. That we shouldnt judge the player. I dont really think we are just making it though, honestly. He will not leave unless you'll play his clause. We do not need to sell, so there is no point. We're aiming to be champions again, since that doesn't happen in a long time. So we're trying hard to keep the squad. Our president is a really though Sporting fan as well. This official statement is to answer all the rumours and to keep on track of what our manager said. Some players want leave, we know, but we can't let them all leave, at least now. Selling him for less than his clause would make the Sporting fans really angry, honestly. This is the Troy Deeney saga all over again!

tsintskaro Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Guardian is only now writing that leicester is in for Silva what a joke
biggs Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Most contract negotiations will not make the media. They get bits and pieces of what's going on but imo this is still on. $$$ will be the deciding factor
st albans fox Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 1) that statement is the sporting Lisbon equivalent of vichai's ear tugging riyad Instagram post 2) I hope this 'bad feeling' doesn't derail our slimani deal. 3) it doesn't mean either deal is off but time is certainly against the silva one

Listen, you may be right but I personally think this is a case of Sporting negotiating hard (maybe harder than I gave them credit for earlier) but in the knowledge that the player wants to leave. Could also be that they are biding time to find a replacement?
dbtcity Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 called it earlier on i didn't think this would happen.... and now it sounds like we've ruffled sporting feathers so much they're going to screw us over with regards to slimani!!!! roll on thursday
onekeithweller Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Still confident, I heard that every Claudio has a Silva signing. I'll get my coat.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Sorry but I don't get how it's our fault that Silva made a public comment? That was his personal choice? We haven't coerced him into it, he's spoken out before negotiations are completed- how is that Leicester creating bad feeling? Even if we were testing the water with him, it's Silva who has gone public.

Go figure! Still time to get a deal done and we will have no real knowledge until officially it's done or off........right now it's neither
lcfcdamo Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 If the player has said it i think that's has good has done really why would he risk saying it if then he never signed would look a idiot to the sporting fans
Koke Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Sporting are just trying to save face. So what if Adrien signed a new contract? So what if he said he'd only leave on good terms? Happens all the time. Vardy signed a new contract with us and 5 months later was on the verge of joining Arsenal. Also doesn't explain the comments by Adrien. It contradicts that statement by Sporting. We will see in the next 48 hours I guess.
Collymore Posted 29 August 2016 Author Posted 29 August 2016 ..someone mentioned that Sporting Portgual are pissed off that players were tapped up before the game last night? RUDDERS!
Foxxed Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 £50 million for them both, according to gu.com It's only two seasons ago since Ulloa's transfer fee gave me a nose bleed.

I would expect that we have back up options, and despite his leaving tears yesterday, they will either have to hope someone else comes in for the price they want, or be left with an extremely frustrated and unhappy player. Haven`t they already signed his replacements as well?

KingKante Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 According to the sky sports app, he's 'confirmed' in his own words that he's coming to Leicester

Seems like pennies now.
KingKante Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Ulloa looks crap these days though, so If he was 8/9 million then no wonder we're having to fork out over £25million for someone who's half decent in Slimani
4everfox Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 To be honest if a Leicester player was quoted saying what Adrien has said in an interview I'd want rid of them pronto. The fact that Sporting Clube de Portugal fans don't appear to be too ticked off with Adrien's comments tell me that the guy is a serious talent.

Exactly...and no board in world wants to be seen to be allowing their best players to go. Can you imagine the reaction if Mahrez had come out with a similar statement just after we'd sold Kante? Rudders would have been lynched. I am pretty convinced this is all face-saving from Sporting because their fans, as TripAdvisor said, are going to be spitting. Much easier to make the player look like a traitorous **** then admit you let him leave and even worse with the club's blessing.
