New £25m bid for Silva is expected in January

I hope this true. If DD gets injured, we really are screwed. We need some more class in the central midfield and this guy seems to fit are workaholic ethos. Not worth the release clause but certainly worth up to 30million. I still can't get my head around him talking about joining our project etc and then it not happening, so I think there being a gentlemen's agreement to join us in January, isn't far from the mark. I am just hoping that we are fairing well in the League by then and still an attractive proposition for him. Although 80k wages probably over-rides a low league position!

Really would love to sign this bloke and see him in a City shirt.

Real quality player.

I'd like to see brahimi instead! Quality player and another desert fox

we really don't need 10 wingers. pricey as well

I really hope this happens, was disappointed when the earlier deal fell though. To me it's crucial we get him in for the second half of the season. Fingers crossed we'll still be looking at attractive option for him.

As long as we never line up king in midfield again. He got skinned 4 times in 2 minutes.

King did very well getting a new contract IMO. More about sentiment than his ability to play in a top Premiership team.

My God, if we land him, our squad would be wickedly awesome.

Have you been talking to young people DT?

Brahimi was outstanding central midfield at the world cup

So? We're on about signing Silva so that is literally irrelevant

Might be very expensive considering his European champion status + Captain of Sporting. But regardless of his probable fee, he's a very good player.

If you want a typical LCFC bargain, young, promising, talented and even experienced,  you may have a look at another Algerian lol; Saphir Taider (Bologna)

I don't believe Adrien Silva will leave Sporting in January.

And it's not because I like Adrien: I like him, one of our best players and our captain/ skipper.

It's because I know how Sporting CP President works.

Sporting CP sold João Mário and Slimani. So Sporting doesn't need to sell more players this season.

The main objective is to win the league title this season.

Neither Sporting CP President needs to sell a player in January nor Sporting CP manager/coach Jorge Jesus will like to lose a player so important as Adrien Silva is, when it was promised to Jorge Jesus that Sporting CP President would do everything possible to have the best players to fight for the title.

Slimani also wanted to leave Sporting last season - he demanded to leave one year before.

Well, he stayed and it was promised to him that he could leave after one year but only if he didn't ask that using the media/in a interview.

Adrien Silva in a best case scenario for the player and for LCFC will be similar:

At the end of this season he can leave sporting for 25/30 Million € fee.. If he doesn't go for the press/media asking for a tranfer.

Also:

For english people that doesn't really follow portuguese football this may sound strange but:

1) Portuguese sports newspapers are..tabloids.

Transfers news is a thing they normally are like John Snow: they know nothing.

2) there's a ongoing 'war' in media/newspapers/social networks from Benfica against Sporting CP.

Many news involving Sporting CP tranfers and some other stuff are created/invented only to try to generate unrest in Sporting players - not only in football.

Spurs preparing a bid of £26 million thats depressing!

Doesn't he have a release clause upward of that figure?

:nigel:

release clause is around £35m

apparently SCP don't need the money this summer

that said, if spurs come for him he may find a way of getting out for that kind of fee

Anyone on here actively following Lisbon? I have heard Silva has had a shocker this season and is definitely not an in form player?

I saw him play in April and I liked what I saw

he had an injury for a few months in the autumn which upset his season

Both:ph34r: but Gylfi should be priority.

Signing both would be superb. I know it will never happen but if we signed all the players we have been strongly linked with we could have a starting 11 looking like this.

3-5-2: kasper, maguire, huth, evans, Albrighton and chilwell as wing backs, ndidi, gylfi, silva, kelechi, vardy. That would be some team!!! As i said, probably never happen but we can dream
