Where to start:

80-100K p/w in some cases.

Lack of fitness due to some commercial crap in the USA.

Horrific player recruitment in the summer.

Ah....don't forget the vast majority of posters on FT appeared to be perfectly happy with the huge pay increases.

No need to panic yet but am the only person after a defeat like that wants to see the next 2/3 results straight away

The pay increase is fine it's the other 2 mentioned that are most glaring specifically the fact that we did not adress are most dire needs, CM and Center half.

Lets be honest, the league has improved drastically since our title win. The managerial changes should tell you that before you get to the likes of £89m being blown on a single player.

I think we're still good value for a top half finish, plenty of teams struggling like we are to get a decent start to the season. Fan's expectations are the biggest obstacle currently and if I'm honest, it was always going to be. New bums on seats who have only known success are going to expect exactly that. This is the most exciting team in the history of the club, enjoy it and get behind the team, it won't be easy wins every week.

I think the pre-season has had a huge bearing on our early season form but to suggest our team is quitting is more than a bit over board. We have better competition for places than ever before (just ask shinji) and the manager has publicly stated he'll drop any player if they under perform so I hardly think they'll be quitting knowing this.

Teams know our game better, the big guns have recruited better and let's face it, we were never going to be in for a season like the last.

Relax, we've got this.

We did address midfield but he is injured...it remains to be seen whether Mendy is a decent replacement. If Kante had picked up a bad injury last season we may well have suffered some heavy defeats. Luck was on our side last year.

For many players it's all about confidence.. the points are gone but we dont want out players to be low on confidence

It's obvious what we are trying to do. We are trying to get relegated to league 2 and the win it so Andy King is the only player to ever win all 4 divisions with the same club

We should have stumped up the cash for Keane and Guyene when we had the chance as well as possibly Silva.

I feel we have blown an opportunity here that comes round once in ten life times.

The core of the team is too weak to compete this year, King for Kante is some sort of sick joke and the lack of a decent DCM has exposed the realities of the Huth/Morgan combo.

Nailed it.

We have competition for places up front - agreed.

However, we have zero competition, or cover where we need it, namely in defence and central midfield.

Lack of recruitment in these areas has been shameful for a club in our position, and may largely explain our recent defeats.

The manager quit in admitting he'd withdrawn Vardy and Mahrez with the CL fixture in mind and the remaining players embarked on damage limitation for the second half against opposition who no longer saw any great need to rouse themselves.

I've no idea how much credit the "damage limitation" deserves one way or the other, but that's how it was and maybe we'll be marking our merchantise with something like "Fearful", "Fickle" or "Hibernating" Foxes in future.

It would be a gesture if the club returned ticket money to our travelling fans cos they weren't given the value for money they have a right to expect for a Premiership game. Not even close.

I don't give a toss about Champions League fixtures until they're next on the list but we seem to be picking and choosing when we're going to turn up and it's not right when people are paying good money to watch.

The club should be ashamed and a win against Porto won't change that.

Our surrender made a mockery of what we claim to stand for and not for the first time this season by a long way. When Ranieri signed his new/improved contract I don't recall any mention of his game by game management suddenly becoming  "discretionary".

I can stand a worthy defeat but the least I expect every time we take the field is 100% commitment. .

foxes never quit is more suited to when we're in the championship but fact is we're resting key players for the champions league so its ok to quit sometimeslol

like i touched on in another thread, would you rather CR told vardy to run his bóllocks off against man utd to come back from 4-0 down?

Unfortunately, I think you're completely right in saying that. I also feel as though it was obvious as the time ticked away in the transfer window. The midfield and defence were not improved (squad depth maybe, but the team is weaker than last year) and we're already paying the price.

Apologies for being defeatist, but it seems our foray into the Champions League may be a one-off. We're just so far off the level of the clubs who will be up there competing for the 4 spaces at the moment.

Yes I would and I'd hope he never had another thought in his mind - nor anyone else. There was plenty of time for recovery anyway but much more than that, picking and choosing when you put effort in is a bad habit to get into and one that can easily end in longer term decline.

Yup dont have a problem with the big pay packets per say as it shows we have the financial clout to compete with da big boyz. I doubt very much whether the powers that be did not factor in these huge increases without some sort of worst case forecast.

....and on the point of huge pay packets it only increases the disappointment of the poor recruitment as we can obviously pay the £££ but have chosen not to in the case of keane and silva.

I have full faith in Ranieri to do the do on the pitch as he is a master tactician and motivator, i think if i had to pick a weakness in him it is his transfer selection. I know he unearthed some real gems at Chelsea but i have to ask myself how many of those players were chosen for him based on being scouted for months.

No doubt we will spend big in January and i hope we are still in the champions league then (i think we will). A decent CM with defensive qualities, a CB (Keane is off the table i feel now unless Burnley get relegated....had a good game tonight as well) and a RB, if i remember correctly we were in for one from Napoli who had bags of pace....cant remember his name.

Not sure what people expected Ranieri to do.

4-0 down, and taking a right whupping, both Vardy and Mahrez shut out of the game. Leaving things as they were might have yielded another 4-0 in the second half. He had to do something drastic, and it actually worked! We "won" 1-0 in the second.

Coming back from 4-0 was never on the cards whatever amount of "fearless" and "band of brothers" hype was applied.

I suspect that Ranieri's words after about saving JV and RM for the CL were just a cover for a tactical switch. Even Mourinho mentioned that he thought CR had done the right thing.
