What happened to FOXES NEVER QUIT?

Recommended Posts

Whilst with 10 men and 2-4 down it was unlikely v Chelsea on Tuesday and likewise 4-0 down at half time to Man United but one thing we've built our reputation on is never quitting yet we've quit twice in the space of 5 days.

Forever Fearless - we can't really say were that either as we looked like rabbits caught in headlights v Man U and Liverpool.

So really only leaves Keep the faith....

I don't think the players quit yesterday. 3 moments of headlessness lol and a struggle from then on. But I do think some of our fans have. Why do some find the need to slag off and put down players and the manager. On the day nowhere near good enough.

But no need to slag off players that one a title and players that have had a handful of games. After all it was man u away not Boston united. This whole season will be way harder than last everyone wants a slice of us. Not like we are the only champions to struggle the following season.

On tuesday, the players were knackered. Coming back from 2 down after theyd already played 90 mins, a man down, against a Chelsea team who had brought Hazard and Costa off the bench was going to be a huge task and Wasilewski was wrong to commit the Costa foul.

Against Man Utd we were blown away with a terrible spell of 20 or so mins before half time. With a big game on the horizon v Porto, and the likelihood of coming from 4 down at Old Trafford of all places being pretty slim, giving a few players a rest wasnt such a bad idea.

Think everyone needs to calm down a bit. Were reigning champions, we arent going to go down, its a tough spell.

what about 'we are the champions'?

Yes cos saying we are the champions, everytime we play as we have been, will help us to progress and prevent us being pulled into a relegation battle

Where to start:

80-100K p/w in some cases.

Lack of fitness due to some commercial crap in the USA.

Horrific player recruitment in the summer.

Bang on for me... Our preparation this summer, including your last two points, was shocking.

We should have stumped up the cash for Keane and Guyene when we had the chance as well as possibly Silva.

I feel we have blown an opportunity here that comes round once in ten life times.

The core of the team is too weak to compete this year, King for Kante is some sort of sick joke and the lack of a decent DCM has exposed the realities of the Huth/Morgan combo.

there's a difference between 'quitting' and not competing to the required and expected standard of our players.

If our players quit, we wouldn't have come out 2nd half and given it a go to salvage some pride and not get too embarrassed. We're fortunate Utd took the foot off the gas but there's no way our players 'quit'.

There's an issue with the mentality of the team collectively when going a goal down. Players aren't pulling their weight enough when we do concede.

Whilst I agree about the poor preparation in summer on a few fronts, these issues weren't made when we beat Swansea and Burnley (albeit lesser opposition) but nevertheless, our players aren't quitting lol

Beating Swansea and Burnley is something teams like West Brom would be proud of, not the PL champions.

The facts are that we have played Liverpool, Chelsea and Utd within a matter of weeks and for the whole part, have been battered throughout each.

I don't want to 'survive' in the premier league by beating the likes of Burnley and getting nailed by the top 6. We should be giving everyone in that league atleast a run for their money.

This is a testing time.  Liverpool and saturdays utd hit form.  I believe this lull is temporary

I was not at the game and watched most of it in sky.

1st  we have dropped our  closing down from the front .especially vardy

2nd we need to have constant midfielder sitting in front of our defence

3rd TeaM have Sussed us out , they are playing with player hugging the line dragging out ou r fullbacks wide and leaving WES and Huth isolated.

we need to alter tactics awaay from home / through the game .

we need the players to understand , we need  to press / pressure other team we have not got thequality to have 2  or 3 players who can walk Round the pitch watch the team get battered .

come on city get on it or it could all go very wrong  - it's a different season NOW.

Yup, some Foxes don't need to bother so much now as they have 80-100k a week for the next 3-5 years.

Last season we had the bit between our teeth, and a realisation for all of our squad to achieve something special.

This season brings new challenges and teams will put that extra 15% to beat us. so we need to be at 110% to compete againt most the teams this season in the prem.

We haven't hit the ground running, I think its a new experience for the club top to bottom in team management and keeping players focused on our domestic competitions, and not having their heads turned only by CL competition.

Has this sudden rise gone to a few players heads and the extra 10% they put in last season is wanting this season so far!

I do feel our pre season was a bit of a disaster in player preparation, too much travelling and less time on the training ground.

Also, our dealings in this transfer window has been very underwhelming.

Bar Slimini are the new additions really pushing to improve the first team, as its showing that our squad as a whole looks promising, but our starting 11 hasn't really changed at all, Benaloune,Was,Ulloa,Hernandez, are not going to command regular first team action, so are some players on easy street knowing their places are safe Aka Simpson,Fuchs,Schmeichel??

Does Ranieri have the confidence to play Chilwell,Gray,Kapustka straight into the 11 when some players are underperforming?

After the last 3 results, I thought we had turned the corner and wasn't expecting us to turn in that style of performance against Man U, it is slightly worrying as we never seen that sort of performance in the last 2 seasons.

Some players are now pulling in the bigger £££ and performances need to reflect that, has this increased payday for some players ruffles some players feathers??

As this Brotherhood "pact" hasn't seemed the same since the start of the season.

yes. that's a lot of money.. most of Spurs' top players are earning < 100K.  Eriksen recently got upgraded to 80K from 45K(!)... and Drinky's already on 90-100K after a couple of England cap.
