Chelsea away pre-match

Interesting to see what Claudio does here. I'm not usually a fan of switching to more defensive formations because if you're going to lose you might as well lose while at least trying to win, but it's another tricky away tie pre-CL and I don't know if we'll have the right mindset for a 442 smash and grab. Interesting decision for Claudio.

Am I the first on here to think we'll actually win?

Will be tight, though.

Nope, I think we'll win 1-2 or at least get a point from this one. I've got an alright feeling I think.

Heavy defeat.  3 or 4 and Kante will be amazing.

Realist ? ...    Doom monger more like ...   Do one.

Surely the lads will be up for this one. Balls out 2-2 with 10 men after we get a red card for violent conduct on......  oh, I dunno let's pick a Chelsea player at random

If we do play 433 with Mendy Drinkwater Amartey and still lose 4-1 there's going to be angry scenes haha

Mendy has twisted his ankle (again) mate, another week at least for his return. Worrying.

Away win at 21/4? Might put a tenner on.

Blimey! Thems long odds...

I may watch this game heavily inebriated.

We need, not only great midfielders, but strikers, who'll push the opponent out wide, lest getting past a hot and cold 21 year old defensive midfielder, to successfully face central defenders, who are much better at heading out wide attacks to convert into counter attacks, may be a theme of this season.

I think it's time to tinker.

I was hoping Mendy would be back.

I'm hoping for a draw but fear it's going to be another hammering.

Hammering at pool was partly due to them being good.

Hammering at utd was due to absurd set piece defending.

We've kept 2 clean sheets on last two games...with a 442.

Chelsea aren't all that.

Not saying we'll get anything but I'm expecting us to be competitive here.

Honestly don't know what we should do now Mendy is still out. The midfield is so threadbare, the transfer window was a bit of a disaster in that respect.

The fixture computer has dished us a bad hand this year as well; away at the big clubs before CL games, home games that we need to win after but can't play 100% because we're too jaded.

Our league season will start in November really- all winnable games up until Christmas, and hopefully we will have got the results from the Copenhagen games so we can focus our energy on the league for a while. If we can get a run going then, there's no reason we can't be pushing the Europa League places by the new year. Sign well in Jan, and it could turn out to be another amazing season.

I've always been a bit of a pessimist, but last season has really mellowed me out, I just take supporting City for what it is these days- days out on the beer, enjoy the good times, make the most of the bad times. If we lose tomorrow, it's not the end of the world- we look head and shoulders above the teams nearer the bottom of the table, we've just not played many of them yet. Saying that though, COME ON CITY, GET INTO THE PLASTIC B****RDS!!

Based on our previous away results this season and our performances before Champions League games, then he is being nothing other than realistic.

Have I missed something or don't those Chelsea stats read as being pretty damn good, so far. An interesting comparison would be with Amartey? Although I think Babs did this at some point with Sqwarka?
