It took the impetus out of the game. Amartey looked a bit wobbley when he came on. I would prefer King against Spurs if fit. We are in a comfortable position in the CL, but some away points are much needed. The team look their old selves. Time to take 3 points off Spurs away.
Stevosevic Posted 23 October 2016 Posted 23 October 2016 Its his birthday next Saturday...King winner
Realist Guy In The Room Posted 23 October 2016 Posted 23 October 2016 Sick of hearing about King 'going missing'. All he ever does in my opinion is step up.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 Another demonstration of the importance of King in our squad. Him and Drinkwater impressive today in the centre midfield.
filbertboy Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 Kingy has been fantastic in the last three games - no doubt about it.
lcfcben76 Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 Excellent, look much better than when Amartey has played away
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 Thank God Ranieri has brought King in for Amartey. We'd have probably lost that game today if the latter was losing runners. King's positional sense and reading of the game is miles above Amartey's. Hardly surprising given King's age and experience. Claudio has clearly seen where the deficiency lay...and rectified it. And we haven't just conceded another 4 away from home today. Whether King can maintain this form throughout the season is another matter and CM needs to be a key area for Jan signings. I suspect if we get another top notch player in that area before too long, Amartey will go out on loan.
TheSomersetFox Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 So happy that Kingy's performing now. thought he was absolutely brilliant today

Kingy has been excellent and does read the game much more successfully than Amartey. That said, I still think Amartey has the potential to be a terrific player for us. I think he could be effective in a 3 with King and Drinky, DA as the destroyer and the other two controlling the play.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 Love King. But should have scored at the end with the header

And too right, King was solid. He kept his position well, was aggressive and constantly closed spaces forcing Spurs out wide. Hardly noticed Eriksen or Alli throughout, apart from the former's poor freekicks and the latter's diving. I believe much of this solidity is down to Okazaki in front of him and DD though as that allows King and DD to stay close to eachother.

Ulloa header happened after and it went wide King had a chance to head on goal or across the goal and in the end did neither. headed it weakly down to Lloris
StriderHiryu Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 I don't know where it's come from but King has raised his game massively. For years we've said that King and Drinkwater can't play together but it turns out they can! I think the secret is Okazaki coming deep to help them. Amartey still has a bright future but King is much more of a technician on the ball. I'm honestly chuffed for him because he really is "Mr. Leicester City".
Raj Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 Weren't there people slating Kingy last week saying he was hopeless??? LOL. Kingy ALWAYS steps up go do a job.
Beliall Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 The more King plays, the better he is, He seems to need more time to get going than other players do, but when he does he is awesome. I hope he continues long into the season
Cecchini1976 Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 I'm not and never have been Kings biggest fan, but have to agree he has been ok in the last few games but i would much rather get Mendy back and sign another midfielder as long term King is not a premier league starter but does always try his hardest
spudfox2911 Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 He does alot of unnoticed or unappreciated jobs on the pitch then he gets credit for, if he can get his scoring boots back I'll be well chuffed. Then I'll ask DD to get the same ones

Where have you been the last 5/6 years , the guy has been a total star at times, especially in lower leagues honestly this place is a box of frogs

Chico1958 Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 Passion and Loyalty over Ability any Time. He may not be the greatest but he's ours. Oh and he's an English Man who also plays in a Welsh Shirt because he appreciates being appreciated.

Clever Fox Posted 29 October 2016 Posted 29 October 2016 He's doing much better now but still needs to keep improving. Never any doubt about his football ability just his physical strength. If he can add that and find his touch around goal then that would be an added bonus. He's also Leicester through and through and great to have in any squad.
