Over the past few days I've been thinking about those proposed plans for Stadium Expansion at Filbert Way. Should it happen, which stand would you like to see expanded? And similarly, what type of design would you like to see? (i.e One tier each on Kop & North Stand to make up 42k, or just the East Stand with an additional tier to make up 42k). 42k is just a starting figure, feel free to share if you're design would increase the stadium by more.

Talking personally, I'd like to see a two tiered Kop, which would be an additional tier onto the Kop end.

I think what they would do is build a support structure behind the east stand to enable a cantileverd design that would allow for a concrete tier above the east stand and then taper it around the kop and family stands to produce a steadily rising full arch with its uppermost point in the centre of the east stand.

Sounds good but it would feel even more like a feckin trampoline when we score than it does already.

So this is a non-story? There are no plans? What's the vote for? You might as well have a choice for a triple tier.

Thought National Grid didn't want the club to buy that long building behind the kop? No excuse not to have one but expansion would create more traffic havoc as there's already a lack of viable parking spaces locally.

When the stadium was designed, it was designed to have the capabilities to build a second tier on the east stand to increase the capacity to 40,000

No expansion yet.

Stadium rocks, moves, sways with 32,000 in. Plenty enough for us and one of the Prem's best atmospheres.

Maybe think about it in 2-3 years time

Can this be fantasy?

Extended but single tiered Kop with a new roof, Filbert Street double decker replicated at the other end, East Stand the same and a main stand a bit like the one at Goodison Park without the top tier.

If we're talking realistic, it should be on the East Stand and the design needs to be simple and old fashioned. Also it MUST have it's own roof. We need to get a way from the awful symmetrical look our stadium has.

Hopefully it will look a little like Elland Road which is still one of the best looking grounds around and would be fairly easy to achieve:

Its gone quiet because its quite clear we don't need an expansion.

We don't sell out most games despite what the club says.

If we do it, it will be the east stand. I would like it to be a proper old-fashioned overlapping tier, but it will just be another from the back, a la Cardiff, Liverpool, Leeds etc. to minimise disruption- build behind the current stand during the season, join them up over the summer.

I think if there is going to be a top tier added on then the inside of the stadium need to be looked at. An example is the toilets. Whoever thought those small entrances would be ok needs their head looking at.

I always thought extending it like Sunderlands stadium of light. Making the family stand and the east stand two tiers

Would like to see the old filbert st east stand built on top of one of the existing stands

And add the old scoreboard (which rarely worked when it was wet) from the Filbert Street north stand.

At present and for the foreseeable future there is no need.

No need when we are sold out and people can't get tickets.

On the actual design I thought the ground was built with expansion planned for the kop and east stand. The other two stands would require more work and expense to expand. Plus ground closure that would not be needed for the kop and east stands.

It will be the east stand. A tall south stand would block the sun, which would be bad for grass.

The grass we have lighting for so it grows in the winter. We could put a roof over it and still grow the grass. No different to people growing another sort of grass in a cellar or loft.
