Who might want to leave - Jan 2017

Recommended Posts

We know that we need improvements in the team but while we're speculating about who might come in there's always the possibility that we could lose some players as well.  We're in a vulnerable position with our poor league position, loss of form for some and loss of opportunities for others.  How many of our squad could resist the lure of a 'big club' if he possibility presented itself in January.  Her are some of my concerns:

Mahrez.  His ability is well known but he has looked frustrated at times and doesn't seem as content as he used to be.  He doesn't seem to believe that we will progress much further in the Champions League so may be happier to listen to offers than he was in the summer.

DD.  There are lots of teams that would love to have him in their midfield.  No signs that he wants to go but could be influenced by a lucrative offer from Man U or the like.

Schlupp.  Could be starting every week for West Brom and has already indicated that he wants to listen to their offer.  Turned down for a move once but given limited opportunities since so may be pressing to leave again.

Chilwell.  His career is likely to go nowhere if he doesn't get game time which he's not doing at present.  Arsenal could be back in for him again.  Loss of both he and Schlupp would leave us exposed at LB.

There may be others - thoughts?

They've all just signed huge new deals

Maybe not Jan, but at the end of the season, those who signed big money deals this summer probably have relegation release clauses. Lets hope it doesn't come to that, but could they possibly be sitting back and picking up big money while they still can, considering they all reached the pinnacle last season anyway??

Right now.

Kapustka, due to not playing, bet he regrets coming as it's cost him his international place.

Gray for the same reason, he maybe a bit of a dick on twitter, but he obviously wants to play.

Leo, can't get game time also.

Then for me, Schlupp if the right offer comes in from WBA, Chillwell again signed a long term new deal, but not had a look in really, and i'd guess Drinky should a big club such as United say they want him back, luckily for us, No one will want Vardy and Mahrez in current form, although maybe that's not so good for us, unless they find some form.

Any offer for Schlupp is the right offer. they'd be paying over the odds if they offered 3 mince pies and a half empty advent calendar.

Anything near the £12m they offered in the summer and we should snap their hands off!

Can you re-register players in the January window? If Benalouane isn't currently registered in the squad it might be worth registering him if he's fit.

Or maybe sell him along with the likes of Schlupp and maybe Leo as it doesn't look like he will get game time anytime soon.

Kaputska, Chilwell and James could deffo do with loan moves. All three need game time.

Riyads will shock the world by handing in a transfer request. Other than that I don't know if we will be able to shift some of the dead weight.

Who's going to buy him? We won't sell cheap and on current form he wouldn't get in the teams that could afford him.

Personally I can see Riyad looking for the exit, and to be honest I'm not sure I would blame him.

Other than him the only two I would be seriously worried about losing is DD and Kasper. But I think they are more likely to be movers in the summer.

Schlupp most likely and Kapustka has realised he has made a mistake in joining us as he is unlikely to get any game time. Mahrez if a big club like Real Madrid or Barcelona come in he will be off and why not to sunny Spain. Obviously Vardy's missus will want him to move to London

Would Jeff really get in the WBA team at the moment? He'd go from one bench to another

Is Chilwell even fit yet? I think that's why he's not playing. Am sure he will get more game time soon, Fuchs needs a rest / is on 4 yellows.

Kapi may go on loan, maybe he'll join Kram at Hoffenheim, do really well and then stay with them?

Other than that, depends who we get in during the window I think

Chilwell got injured during the October break and was just declared fit last week. I thought he'd be given more opportunities to prove himself than just one league cup match in those first 2 months though. I don't think he's in danger of being sold this window but I'd rather he'd either played more in those first 2 months or have been loaned out rather than having to sit.

He might of, but he got ripped against Moses in the cup game.

As have a number of full backs since ....Moses is as good as any winger or wing back in the country at the moment....Chilly needs games to learn imo

Something isn't right this season, don't know if there is ego's affecting the team, get rid in Jan if there is players causing problems.

How the players are performing I don't fear losing anyone, and if arsenal come in for vardy again, I'd let him go for the right price.

Same with any of them, as long as they are replaced.

Things are very stale amongst the team, and a shake up wouldn't hurt, obviously not a whole team, but 4 or 5 both ways might brighten things up.
