Stoke AWAY pre match

Recommended Posts

Another defeat and another hoof ball session reminiscent of Wimbledon of the late 80's/early 90's.

It's boring to watch, because it's so predictable.

The only positive... Stoke play tomorrow and MIGHT be slightly more fatigued than us. But when we gift you possession so easily you don't exactly have to put a shift in. Oh please can we rewind 9 months

Why even waste your energy typing a team with Kapustka and Gray in?

As optimistic I want to be with 3 points I think we will come away with nothing.

Our performances away from home have been nothing short of poor and that's being kind, and it doesn't look like improving anytime soon.

After a great performance against Man City they should have had their tails up and on a high....then we see a negative, slow, defensive showing tonight.

We look 11 lost individuals away from home with a lack of conviction/game plan/confidence that is running through the team at the moment.

Yes we are missing 1-2 key players (drinky and Schmeichel) but even with them we haven't really improved away from home.

hard questions and blind loyalty need to be questioned from Ranieri, as it won't be long till we are in a proper relegation scrap, home form won't be enough.

I want Ranieri to succeed but he looks unsure of how to change the situation we are currently in.

He best have started identifying targets in Jan as we need a few.

Chilwell against Shaqiri isn't the answer however desperate we currently are.

lol  i always think this when people do their predicted teams.

Why are you wasting your breath? It seems to be completely irrelevent that we've bought about 7 players over the last year, the same 14 play EVERY match. It's getting so, ****ing, boring.

If Claudio decides to go 442 again, with a central midfield pairing of King and Amartey, I'm thinking about sending him a spec savers voucher through the post.

Why is he doing this?

This is the only thing I can't defend Claudio on Col, it's bizarre as we know he is better than this tactically, I'm really not sure what the **** is going on anymore.

Change of formation and change of players a must.

Limited to the actual players we can change as so short of quality and players in form, but I would try this:

-------------------Schmeichel

--Simpson--Morgan--Huth--Fuchs

---------------------Mendy---------------

----------Drinkwater-----King---------

--Mahrez-------Slimani--------Gray----

Mendy instructed to sit and protect the back 4. Drinkwater and King to push forward whenever possible and keep the ball on the floor.

Gray and Mahrez to constantly switch sides to try and cause some confusion or disruption in defensive tactics.

King and Drinkwater to support eachother in one pushing forward whilst one sits and vice versa.

Slimani told to hold that high position and not drop so deep as we often see him doing. Gray and Mahrez instructed to take players on at every opportunity.

I want the front 3 pressing high and working socks off, knowing that they have Vardy, Musa and Albrighton to come on when they are burnt out.

It may not work, but at least it would be trying something different!

I will be snorting drunk and celebrating Christmas with the cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Last year on this family Christmas day, Mahrez had a hat trick brace and we took down Everton.

It's not last year, however. 2-2 draw.

Might do some Christmas shopping Saturday, is there really any point watching, another piss poor, let's roll over away performance.

Because I support city, I might check the score after the game, to see how many we conceded, but we are so predictable, and cannot watch king in the heart of our midfield, and watching us concede sloppy goals, and be lucky if we have a shot target.

These players and manager should be embarrassed to collect their wages, when we play away.

Mahrez got 2 against Everton, the main man Shinji got the other. Riyads hattrick was Swansea, that seams like a lifetime away.

These are nothing special at home what so ever anymore.

If we turn up to this like we have (using that very lightly) the last few away games and peter out to another awful performance and loss then my confidence in Ranieri will be nearly gone. Keeping a good run going and turning one around are completely different things and so far he has shown next to no competency of doing the latter at Leicester.

Wow. I can't remember things these days, it would seem. Recently I thought Kingy scored against Watford last season!

Same team, same sunday league performance - defeat.

Gray has to be worth a game, looks hungry and will attack their defence. Slimani might aswell not have feet, he is only an arial threat, 30mil is a lot of money for a head.

A disappointing loss.

We will play reasonably well for the first 15 minutes. But then we will all move back about 20 yards and let them come on to us. When we do have the ball, we will forget how to pass and end up with Morgan aimlessly hoofing the ball in to their half. They will finish the first half 2-0 up. In the second half, it will be more of the same sitting back for 25 mins, and then for the last 20 mins, we will bring on Gray, who will run around quite quickly with the ball but will be ineffective, a lot of people on here will give him a load of praise and ask "why doesn't he start?". They will soak up the pressure and we will have just one attempt on goal, which will be by Okazaki, and it will be about 4 yards off to the right. CR will say we tried hard (we didn't), and we must concentrate for the next game.
