I know team isn't playing too well at the moment but us fans have been equally as awful. I was in the away end last night at B'mouth near the half way line and literally was about 5/6 of us trying to sing, bloody awful atmosphere throughout with half the end just sitting there in silence, get behind the team on Saturday and ****ing sing

Stoke were dog shit earlier this season and have changed the way they play and are now looking half decent again. Maybe we could do the same? Naaah, the players don't want to. Ranieri shouldn't be asking them what they want for their tea, just find a system that suits the squad we have and mix it up a bit. It's boring me this is.

I can't see how we can win when we have no threat what so ever. We play as if its damage limitation even at 0-0!

One good win every six or seven loses will not keep us up.

That's not the issue for me, infact opposite, it's the defence that is awful.

Infact we're just awful all over.

Let's play the exact same side and formation again that keeps getting beat away from home and expect something different to happen. Fool proof.

lol

Id definitely play a 442 with Amartey alongside King to be able to control the midfield with guile and flair.

Id stick Chilwell in at LB cos, as we've seen, he's clearly Premiership quality.

Simpson out, Hernandez in and Musa one wing, Schlupp the other.

Bring Hamer back.

thats about it.

Can't get my head around Ranieri this season. Last term we were doing well and getting great results but with one heavy defeat to Arsenal he made the changes that improved a team already doing well. Now we are dogshit and he won't change anything in the face of appalling results. Bizarre.

At least we are coming back to something approaching (theoretically) full strength. No winning team to hide behind so I expect changes for this. I accept he wont change the 442 even though hes wrong but surely Kasper and DD have to come in.

I can appreciate that the defenders might not feel comfortable changing to a formation that puts them in a 3 or 5 but a 433 or 4141 makes very little difference to them. In fact it should make it easier for them. In any case its not up to them and if the manager tells them he wants to change it up then they need to do as they are told. As others have said its pretty worrying if we arent changing the system purely because the players dont want to.

Anyone think being branded the 'Tinkerman' has scarred him?

He made a joke about it last season saying he was now the 'Thinkerman not the Tinkerman'.

If it is as simple as that he needs to get over it, as simple as that.

We will play 4-4-2 again and most likely will do for the rest of the season. See the interview below where Ranieri mentions prior to the Man City game that the team talked about changing system after Ranieri offered to do so, but the team believed in 4-4-2:

I don't think we were that bad against Bournemouth. Their goal came after a sloppy short corner from us and we would have equalized through Ulloa in the second half other than a wonderful save. We wouldn't have deserved it, but that's football and it was quite like some of displays from last season. I think of the Spurs away game last year where we were hanging on for large parts of the game but then scored with a header to win it. It reminded me of that game.

This season we are conceding way too many goals which is our biggest problem, although it's in part due to not being as good in the middle of the park due to Kante leaving.

I could see us beating Stoke if we score first but equally could see another frustrating loss if they score first. I hope Drinky and Kasper return as that would give us a good jolt up the arm. I honestly didn't think we would get any points from the games before Christmas so the Man City game gave me hope. Stoke should be favourites but anything is possible in this one.

Let's just hope we ****ing press.

Press we win. Sit off we lose. Simple

I think you're almost right there. Press from the first minute. Vardy to make a robust (but legal) challenge in the opening minutes. It sets a positive tone. Press press press and none of this we were tired rubbish. If anyone is tired they don't play. If that means an entirely changed midfield 4 for this game then  so be it. Musa Mendy Drinky Gray for example.

It what need's to be done. It is in my opinion the single most important tactic to the way we play. It sets the tone. Let's the opposition know they won't have a moment's peace and naturally makes them hurry more and make mistakes.

When we sit off we're very static. With being so narrow it becomes a problem without the pressing. We let them pick out whatever pass they want.

People can sit there and say we miss Kante all they want and of course we do. But it's highlighted because we've tried to fix something that wasn't broken even though he'd left. It might not be AS effective but we still would be if we just pressed.

Stole with one day less to recover than us and playing for 70 minutes with 10 men tonight. We HAVE to have an energy advantage come Saturday. Use our pace, press and pass.

it is surely not that complicated

That's just the sound engineer. They mix it to give a better balance for people watching it on TV. I've seen games where there's been 60k home fans and a couple of thousand aways - yet you'd sware it was 50/50 when broadcast.

You'd play Slimani over Vardy based on recent performances?

Bizarre!

Bizarre!

Slimani would suit a loan striker more than Vardy. He would be able to hold it up and bring the midfield into play. Vardy would

be to isolated.
