If we are concentrate we might keep them out until after half time.

If we lose the game we will be staring constantly at the bottom 8 for the remainder of the season - there is a gap appearing from 13th down in comparison with the rest of the table and I don't think it'll close up.  We'll be 7 behind Stoke and looking like one of the also-rans until the end of May.

Thsts how I also see it. Actually how I weigh up various PL teams season coming upto christmas.

How far can one go ..before top 4 is out of sight...then top 6..then top 8,  so on, and so on.

A great run could get us still top 8, but trying to stay positive and optimistic top 10 should be a minimum target,

Depending on Results before End of January.

Negatively like you mention/insinuate, not picking up even draws, confines us to a bottom 4-8 struggle...

At the moment My optimistic spirit, will keep top 8-12 in view. Nobody will do a Leicester this season,

But I see, WBA, Burnley, Bournemouth and yes W.Ham to suprise a few.

This season, is back to  'normal service resumed', that horrible feeling of looking everyweek whos behind us.

Unless we get our midfield back to a stronger platform/base. Plus our defence to hold their lines.

King Dick and Rachel are playing too footloose with our emotions...

Stoke are a good side with some very talented players. They've made steady progress in the campaign so far, and Hughes continues to do a very good job there. Like Southampton, a model Premier League club I suppose.

I believe Schmeichel, Drinkwater (maybe) and Mendy are all available for this one so I think we will see some rotation in the lineup, given we played a midweek game too. I've said it before but Okazaki is key away from home, he provides the link between the midfield and forward line, stops strikers becoming isolated (which has been an issue away) and his overall game is just instrumental to us in my view. I actually feel he should a regular starter for us just as much as Morgan or Huth, he's our in form striker at the moment so warrants a starting place.

This would be my team:

Schmeichel

Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs

Mendy Drinkwater

Okazaki

Mahrez Vardy Musa

... this is all becoming too much of a regular feeling to be either healthy or enjoyable! ... we'll have little possession, turning the ball over through very little effort and ending up as the losing away side.  Which quite feasibly leaves us in a table position that we'll hover about for the rest of the season, unless there's a serious effort by the club to bring in fresh blood in January. Some of the players are looking for a kick up the arse before they can be bothered, not even selecting them might just send a message!!!!

We must get something from this. 6/7 points please Leicester from next 3 games would put us back towards the middle.

Come 2pm if the team sheet is 4-4-2, Going again with Wimbledon 80's style football like our last match I will fu***ng scream!!!!

4-5-1, but keep the bloody ball for more than 3 seconds.

Kasper

Simpson

Morgan

Huth

Fuchs

Marhez

Mendy

Drinkwater

James

Gray

Vardy

Subs: Zieler, Hernandez, King, Albrighton, Musa, Okazaki, Slimani

Can anyone tell me which pubs are away friendly?

Ive never been stoke away only the vale.

Hopefully il bring the luck with me as it's my first away this season.

not seen us lose away for years.

The Terrace.

Bout 5 minute walk from the train station, they also run return shuttle buses to the stadium for about £3 I think, really well ran and organised, was last year anyway.

People, he will not change the formation.

He has asked the players if they would like to try something different, they said no.

It is the formaion he has preferred most of his career.

So looks like, Drinkwater back with either Amartey, King, James or Mendy.

Looks like we're in for another difficult weekend, think I'll go shopping for a couple of hours

Claudio had said drinks won't be back

is everyone assuming he is playing games as he said before Bournemouth that everyone was available ??

otherwise why is everyone putting him in their starting eleven??

King and Amartey again then...

Neither do this pair offer the attack any assistance (kings goal last week aside) nor do they protect the defence or track back enough.

I would get Mendy and James in for either of them (Drinky not playing) and play a three.

Never been stoke before. I'm told there's loads of parking on the industrial estate near the ground so that's where I'm heading. Are there any pubs in this area as most of the chat on here is about the terrace near the station

I knew wee weren't going to get a clean sheet as soon as I saw Zieler! I knew we were going to lose when I saw Ernie the milkman!

Knew he'd bottle it?

As already mentioned, the terrace is the best option. If you do find yourself in Stoke city centre the Glebe is worth hunting out.

Stoke used to be an intimidating place to visit years ago but is not too bad at all now.

The players have been visiting kids in the LRI this afternoon, delivering Christmas presents etc

I heard this was all a misunderstanding.

In reality, they had all dressed up as Santa to avoid identification after some of their recent performances.

Scapegoating at its finest.

Are we honestly going into this game against a big, tough side like Stoke, with a midfield pairing of King and Amartey? Again?

Christ almighty...

Who do you suggest we play instead?

Okazaki because he runs so much and Hernandez because he made the most interceptions last year in La Liga (though playing at CB).

Stat time

  • Stoke are yet to win a Premier League home game versus Leicester (W0 D1 L1) - the only side they have faced more than once at home in the competition but not won against.
  • Leicester have only conceded three goals in their last five league meetings with Stoke City.
  • Jamie Vardy scored in both Premier League meetings with Stoke City last season.
  • Jamie Vardy has scored just one goal in his last nine Premier League appearances away from home (v Liverpool in September).
  • Bojan has scored the first goal of the game in both of his last two Premier League appearances against Leicester City.
  • Mark Hughes has won two of his three previous home Premier League matches against reigning champions as Stoke boss - defeating Man Utd in February 2014 and Chelsea in November 2015 (losing the other to Man City in February 2015).
  • Leicester City have conceded in each of their last 10 Premier League away games - their worst run since April 2002 (also 10). They last conceded in 11 successive away PL games in October 2001 (17 away games in a row).
  • Leicester's return of one point from their first eight away games of the season is the lowest total by a defending top-flight champion.
  • Stoke City haven't seen an English player score a Premier League goal for them (excl. OGs) since May 24th 2015 - 55 games ago. Peter Crouch scored on that day.
  • The Potters have conceded just six goals in their last nine Premier League games and have kept five clean sheets in this run.

Suppose we should be happy with a point away to these. Can't see where our first away win will come from to be honest. All feels as flat as a fart at the moment :(
