Stoke AWAY pre match

It's going to be 442, the players want to play 442, the manager is happy for the players to play 442. Anyone who is predicting or asking for another formation are going to be disappointed.

 

Hopefully Stoke will forget how to play for 90 odd minutes but I'm guessing we will end up punting useless balls over the top for Stoke defensive practice.

3-1 loss. Can see that strong dwarf Shaqiri and others having our defence on toast, and the same 11 that will probably be tired by half time. Play anything like yesterday and their defence will have an easy day beating Vardy and Okazaki to headers.

People who think Schmeichel and Drinkwater are some sort of saviours, I just wanna remind you that we got turned over by Liverpool, Chelsea, Hull, United, Watford, West Brom when both or one of them was playing.

 

Even if both start against Stoke we will lose if we play same formation and tactics.

I keep seeing "we've got Drinkwater, Mendy, James" to come back as if that's going to turn us around. We're just so poor.

I think we're all bored on saying the same thing over and over. The system needs to change but I've seen nothing from Claudio which suggests it will.

Maybe because he asked the players what formation they want to play instead of telling them "we will do it like this".......nahhh, I didn't think so either........nor can I think of a logical reason.

I always defend Albrighton but i think i would like to see Gray start instead of him. Hernandez was a centre back playing at right back last night should have put Amarty there instead.

Interestingly Charlie Adam was on the radio last week saying how much more comfortable Stoke feel playing three in midfield. How it protects the defence and the midfield feel as though they have more time on the ball.

I imagine a 2-1 loss with about 25% possession against the mighty Stokealona and that will flatter us. Claudio to say he sees signs of improvement that nobody else can see. **** the result, if we put in yet another listless performance I'd like to see Claudio out or at the very least a serious warning from the owners.

It just can't be 4-4-2, it is blatantly obvious that this formation has now worked away from home. Claudio needs to change something. This will not be the team, but if it was up to me, I would play something like this

 

4-5-1

                         Schmeichel (if fit)

              Simpson  Morgan Huth Fuchs (Our best player)

Mahrez  Amartey Drinkwater (if fit - King if not) Mendy Gray

                                   Vardy

 

Subs: Zieler, Chilwell, King/James, Kapustka, Albrighton, Slimani, Okazaki

I just want to see a good performance. It would be great to see Claudio try something new, but if not, the least I expect is a more energetic, creative display with more pressing. If it's yet another lacklustre 442 showing, I think my patience with CR might have completely run out.

Why not Amartey before the back four and Mendy + Drinky a bit more forward? The more I see Amartey and the more I'm convinced that this position would suit him good. Would love to see him as CB though.

If we concede first we will not comeback it as simple, cut and dry as that.

 

I knew last night we'd lost as soon as they scored, we wouldn't come back.

 

What I mean about good away is local, seemed quite a decent, easy accessible pub and the shuttle buses are a fantastic idea. **** the game, gotta take positives from elsewhere atm.
