ealingfox Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 One rule for some clubs and a different one for others. Luckily he's been dogshit all season apart from one game so don't think we'll miss him that much. With any luck we'll play better football now we can't play balls up that the pitch that he won't make runs for. Absolute lump on Barkley scoring the winner on Boxing Day.

I haven't seen the hunger in his game we saw every week last season at all. Ulloa has come off the bench and put in a real shift when called upon this season, and Okazaki is playing better than he was last season too. I would have been tempted not to start him anyway on boxing day. Hopefully this gives him a rest period to get him back on track, while allowing Ulloa and Okazaki a first team chance they definitely deserve. He was playing very well before he got sent off against Stoke. He looked hungry and sharp - back to his best. His suspension is emphatically not a blessing in disguise.
Neil_LCFC Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 So i take it Barkley won't get done at all because the ref saw it and gave a yellow even tho the challenge was far worse. Something really stinks in all this , Maybe it was because he said sorry afterwards to his England team mate that makes it all ok for Everton but we get punished in 4 games for a lesser tackle. Utterly ridiculous.
Matt Posted 20 December 2016 Author Posted 20 December 2016 The joke of this all and I just do not understand the rule is that Barkley gets away with what he did last night, which was ALOT worse than what Vardy did. He gets away with it because the referee gave him a yellow card, therefore he has seen it and The FA are unable to take it further. So he plays on Monday, you watch him score. How can you justify the referee and FA's decisions.

Neil_LCFC Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 Shows how inconsistent refs are if Vardy's is a red and Barkleys a yellow, madness.
urban.spaceman Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 Vardy's foul was never a straight red. And yet Barkley is available to play next week despite a much worse foul. All we want is consistency. Disgraceful.
st albans fox Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 surprised that anyone is surprised we had one chance and that was convincing them that he was pushed off balance but he still could have pulled out of the challenge which would have been their stance. Worth a shot but we move on. Other bad decisions are not evidence that this decision should be overturned - that's not how it works
SamC06 Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 Was never a red in the first place, but seeing as Rojo and Barkley get away with their tackles just shows how inconsistent the rules are and how clueless most refs are.

Matt Posted 20 December 2016 Author Posted 20 December 2016 If it 'had a case' how has it been rejected? Just a case of them not backing down to one of their refs they have to protect.

Certainly not very well, and he showed no evidence of building on his performance from City when played Bournemouth mid-week. He has unquestionably been one of our biggest under-performers all season and it's about time the other strikers got a decent run.

Agree that them not adding an extra game speaks volumes, its as if they've gone 'Yeah you've got a point it wasn't a definite red but...'

Utterly ridiculous. I really don't see why people are having a go at Everton and Barkley, they don't make the rules. The fact he's got a yellow and Vardy a read is circumstantial and nothing else. The Ref and the FA are to blame. If you want to have a go at someone, have a go at the people who really need to change the way they treat post match disciplinary proceedings. And do so when the rules work for you as well against you instead of taking the "well its about time we got a decision" stance (not saying you do but many in general do) The problem with football and it's not isolated to one particular rule, is pretty much the lot actually, is people are quite quick to come down on one rule when it's fcked them over, but when it's working for the team they support it's the best thing since slice bread, thus we get nowhere as a sport in general as everyone is obsessed with winning instead of trying to stream line the sport for the greater good of the game.

Yes Vardy has been a disappointment this season but there was signs in the last few games that he had improved. Form aside there is no way he should be suspended when Rojo and Barkley get off scot free for far worse tackles.

How anyone can watch the first 7 seconds of this and say it's not a red I don't understand, he dives in with both feet He doesn't dive in. He's pushed in. The way the tackle is made is not fully his own doing, hence the complaints on this forum.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 It's just a shame we can't give Vary a chance, but it seems his appeal has been turned down too.
AKCJ Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 To think that Shearer didn't get a ban for kicking Lennon in the face an all. The sooner they start accepting that their referees are complete liabilities the sooner the game will improve.
dannythefox Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 Get Grey up there this could be his chance.

I see him getting pushed down also and trying to make a last ditch attempt to win the ball, he doesn't show studs and makes full contact with the ball. Never a red
