BenTheFox Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Been saying it for weeks. He's offering us absolutely nothing. If Schlupp had put in those performances he'd be getting absolutely hammered for it.

Albrighton is being found out week after week.

tsintskaro Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 This guy is championship level when i said this in summer a lot here quoted my post and said that i am out of my mind even in last season it was obvious,he has no class
BenTheFox Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Albrighton 16/17 season: Goals: 0 Assists: 0 For a wide midfielder in the premier league after 18 games, that's absolutely shocking!
Slim Dog Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Don't know why people backed him in the first place. He's so poor. People think he has pace as well The only thing he does is cut in on his right and put in a shit cross.
MurphyMagic Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 It seems Albrighton can do no wrong in Ranieri eyes. I think he has had a dreadful season, offers nothing going forward at the moment. Needs an extended rest.

dynamark Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Crossing on the run is slightly excusable but awful dead ball free kicks no excuse at all

foxes21 Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Albrighton is the only winger in our squad, suited to the 4-4-2/4-4-1-1. If we are sticking to 4-4-2/4-4-1-1, I think we need a left-footed Albrighton type of player (I mean a strong defensive, support role player) to play on the opposite flank. Mahrez/Gray are a problem on the flanks in this formation, because they aren't good enough defensively.

Dan Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 He was absolutely awful today. Probably the worst I've ever seen him play.

Mahrez has been predictable and wasteful too. Maybe if Albrighton was playing on the right wing consistently, he'd preform better.
Foxes1 Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 I think the only reason he was in today was to give some extra defensive cover for Ben Chilwell, but luckily for us Chilwell didn't need it as he showed in his MOTM performance.

For our creative maestro, that's absolutely shocking. Albrighton doesn't have at least two or three players constantly on the back. Not his fault when the others aren't able to take advantage from the opened spaces. And when Albrighton will kill a 50 yards pass dead or transform it into an instant assist then he can be compared to the maestro. Love Albrighton but he was awful today.
CPW22 Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 How he stayed on today and Gray was substituted I really don't know
Dan Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 I can't believe Gray went off rather than Albrighton. When you're playing three in midfield, there is less reason to want a defensive contribution from your wide men (which are effectively wide forwards rather than midfielders), you can get away with Mahrez & Gray if you're playing a midfield three. Granted Mahrez didn't do a lot but put both players in the same situation five times I guarantee Mahrez delivers more.
Fox92 Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 Ranieiri said post match he thought Albrighton was good so, yet again, he'll (sadly) start against West Ham.

ARTY_FOX Posted 26 December 2016 Posted 26 December 2016 He was the worst player on the pitch today. I'm a big fan of albrighton but today he was woeful. Absolutely criminal to take grey off and leave him on. Although the half time change was equally as bad.

Thank Christ I'm not the only one who was thinking this. I thought I was being pretty harsh on him but when I actually thought about his performances I can only remember his crosses either being knee high to a grasshopper or over-hit. He does get back and help defend and puts in a shift every game in terms of effort but it's the quality of his deliveries that I find really frustrating.

He doesn't beat the first man with his crossing and he constantly loses the ball.

Today I would have rather seen Albrighton get the hook when Mahrez came on but we decided to persist with MA. Would like to see Gray and Mahrez start together vs West Ham.
