This is all hilarious and mega bantz and all that but if we get relegated now Simpson is going to look like a gigantic tit. He can't win this argument either way!

Don't agree really.

I mean, in an ideal world, twitter wouldn't exist and neither would football punditry, gossip, rumours, etc and Carra would either be a coach or a used car salesman making the odd quid off dinner speaking.

But in the current climate, I've no problem with one of our players standing up for the squad and refusing to - basically - be bullied by the gutter press and the "experts."

But Simpson... of all people.

The guy is a convicted wife beater & he's going up against one of the most popular people in the industry.

I understand someone standing up to the bullying which has gone on but it's strange that Simpson has done it.

Don't understand that at all.

Simpson is being questioned and he's standing up and giving it back.

Everyone is entitled to do that.

He had won the argument before it had already started.....He has a league title!!

I'm glad it's happening, purely because we know the lads have seen and heard this shit and it will be used to fire them all up.

I think it's exactly what we needed, the start of the season it felt like we had nothing to play for. I know that's not right, but it's understandable with the size of the achievement. We needed to find that fire in the belly again... this has done it.

He's not my favourite Leicester player but he's:

A. One of the most derided for his ability.

B. One whose loyalty and gratitude to Ranieri probably can't be questioned.

Vardy would be a much more vulnerable person to take a stance, where I don't think Simpson is open for too much criticism when it comes to Claudio and if Carra goes there he loses and if he has to resort to picking on Simpson's home life he loses.

Simpson is in a strong position and it shows, he's keeping the banter light while Carra gets increasingly personal.

Which is why I admire him for having a go because surely he knows the back lash he's going to get.

I just thought it was a weird thing to do. The intention is good but I think if you were weighing up the pros and cons of it you'd probably decide to keep your mouth shut till we were clear of the relegation scrap.

Was Simpson directly called out? I didn't see MNF as was at the game.

The whole team were shredded.

Neville was careful to use a lot of "ifs". If the players have gone to the owners, if they got Ranieri sacked, etc.

Carra ripped in to them and called them average etc.

Why? He's part of possibly the greatest sporting achievement in the history of the world. Not that any justification is needed but I think that at least entitles him to defend his position/have some light hearted banter with a third rate pundit.

Hahaha

Give it to him Simpson, we've now finally got some fight in us on and off the pitch it seems.

Fair enough. I'm all for standing up to the media - it just seems that now is a strange time to do it. 2 points above relegation zone. 3 goals in 2017.

As I said earlier - fair play to him as I think it's a brave move.

I think Finners should have to robustly defend that avatar

Simpson already has a bit of fight in him off the pitch.

I'm glad to see a player come out and stand up to him. I hope in the future Merson and Owen get reminded of what they've said (or more, the way they've said it).

Wish someone more clever than me could make up a chant which includes: Merson, Carragher, Owen, Savage, average players and take your face for a sh*t. And we we could all sing it at home to galvanise the players.

It's funny, and it will backfire if we actually go down, but it can only be a good thing in my eyes.

The players are hearing what everyone is saying about them, and rather than pissing their pants, they appear to want to ram it back down everyone's throats.

Hopefully they put in another performance on Saturday to back it up.

Can someone explain why he says Man City shirt when it's an Everton shirt?

He references the fact that Gary Neville would never be seen in a Man City shirt, unlike Carragher who was pictured in an Everton one. A rival.

I'll never understand why everyone said Simmo attacked his ex-wife when her throat CLEARLY attacked his hands...
