tickler28 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 There's a 7 page thread on the West Ham home match with people saying we should drop (eg Slimani or Albrighton) and play (eg Ulloa and Mahrez) yet not one person has considered there's 43 and a half hours between Saturdays match ending and Mondays match starting therefore you should really be considering 2 teams with 8/9 changes for both. Better to think of players who have performed better away from home in the past such as Gray, Ulloa, Fuchs and Drinkwater for Monday and players who have historically done better at home for Saturday such as Mahrez, Slimani, Amartey and Chilwell. Just sayin
MPH Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Or we could just have very light training sessions inbetween?

tickler28 Posted 29 December 2016 Author Posted 29 December 2016 Based on the fact that all are players are pretty much on a par with each other at present and some are set to jet off to AFCON soon it would be insane not to make at least 7/8 changes

Dan Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 We're not the only ones in this boat here. I do think it's stupid to have two games so close together but Middlesbrough will have the same problem, as will most of the league.

VLC86 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Boros defence is very decent so let's hope we at least have a shot on target.

Guest LCFC_World Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 I think the 100,000 a week wages justifies this.

iancognito Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 Southampton are playing 3 games in 5 days so we're not the only ones in this boat. Huth & Fuchs have just had 7 days off anyway, Shinji rarely plays more than 60/70 minutes and 3 subs per match means that we're only asking 6 or 7 outfield players to push themselves. The very least they can do is push themselves!
hejammy Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 Also West Ham are playing 2 in 2? I doubt they will make wholesale changes?

Manwell Pablo Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 9 Changes That'd be de de der der de der, der der de de der all over again.
sylofox Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 Ffs pro footballers having to earn money. 1 game in 14 days then 2 games in 2 days. I bet a lot on here work a fecking sight harder. I bet all the brickies and plasterers love working 2 days a week for 9 months of the year. Oh and love the 100k a week.
Izzy Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 I don't recall this even being an issue up for discussion last season when we were winning.

Just sayin Well I considered it, Kingy's in my starting XI for Saturday You see almost annoyed no-one has considered it mate got me giggling a bit. I tell you honestly all that really matters for Leicester City football club right now - is trying to get three points at home to West Ham on Saturday, we built a league title on one game at a time - the lads aren't even pressing half as much as last season so i doubt they will be knackered. Let's play our best side this Saturday and then re-look at things for Monday depending on how we come out from that game, common sense - Boro would do the same no doubt! I don't get the logic of "we're at home so we play these players" - we want to play our best 11 vs that side to try and win a football match! You're in the mindset of, oh we must win away at Middlesborough, that's a must win so the West Ham game at home is bonus points - and its a load of tosh that none of our players could play two games in over 24 hours quite frankly.

Matt Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 Atleast if (When ) we lose to West Ham on Saturday we can pick ourselves up in hope that we have another game to right our wrongs on Monday.... Hate it when we lose in such a bad way, played in such a bad way like we did on Monday then it stews for the next week until the next game, even worse when theres a bleedin' International break!! Does feel strange having a NYE game though, gets in the way if i'm honest! With the scenario of 2 matches in 2 days being mentioned god knows why they couldn't have scheduled Boxing day (Monday), A set of games Thursday or today, then games on Monday, gives atleast an extra days rest inbetween, but then when did common sense come into account with the powers that be?!
tylesta Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 2 games in 2 days wow I played Saturday and Sunday league football for 10 years straight. The legs ached towards the latter of my playing days but I just got on with it
Struwwelpeter60 Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 2 hours ago, hejammy said: Also West Ham are playing 2 in 2? I doubt they will make wholesale changes? Neither West Ham, nor Boro have played 6 CL matches between mid-September and early December. That makes a difference.
