cant see any threads about him and todays game

i thought for a youngster he was excellent , he cleaned up a lot of loose balls and made some great interceptions also 4 or 5 excellent passes .

think we might have a little gem on our hands here and for me he was motm for us today

Agreed, Him and Chilwell were the only ones to come out with any credit.

He broke up a few plays and played some nice simple passes.

The system just didn't work with him, mendy and Drinkwater as well as wingbacks.

I wanted us to use a 4-3-3 with him, drinky and mendy, but I think trying a 4-4-2 with him and Drinky might work as we know the system so well and N'didi offers a lot more of what Kante did when that formation worked so well for us.

He definitely stood out.

I thought he looked good. Considering it was his debut, a hefty step-up from the Jupiler league, it was against Chelsea and the lad is 19, he did well. Looks a good signing.

Him coming in did create one problem I didn't expect though. Not Ndidi's fault, but DD really struggled in that midfield 3. Didn't look comfortable at all tucked in on the right of the 3. Hopefully that's an easy tactical tweak for Claudio, but DD didn't get going yesterday and as a consequence we didn't create anything.

I really rate Mendy and I think N'Didi will prove to be an excellent addition too but if these two are going to be starting together regularly and presumably sitting deep, then Claudio needs to think really carefully about how we are using the guys in front of them to stretch teams because right now that transition from defending to attack is way too ponderous and easy to defend.

Aside from one great ball I thought he was pretty anonymous, was disappointed how our midfield was overran despite having an extra man.

Still I wouldn't dream of judging him after one game and against Kante.

I would agree. He moved around the pitch with an air of confidence that suggested he knew his role and was confident in performing it.

Compare that to some of Armarty's earlier performances when he looked lost and was watching the game evolve around him.

Positive home debut. Shame Danny D has now dropped in form as Ndidi should really free him up to create now.

It definitely wasn't a great debut in my opinion.  There were signs that he can become a good player and he did quite well considering the level of opposition but his display was not 'great'.

I know Claudio is now shit scared of 442 but I would like to see how we got on with Ndidi alongside DD in our more traditional lineup.

Just feel it gives us the best chance at creating any sort of attack.

Kasper

Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs

Grey DD Ndidi Albrighton (Mahrez)

Shinji (Slim) Vardy

He looks like a player who cares, when he gave the ball away he was angry with himself, yesterday was a tough introduction and not helped with Ranieris bizarre starting 11.

Looked decent for his debut at a young age. Funny how our younger players are playing with more effort than our older lot.

I have high hopes.

Massive step up for him.. And thought he was our motm (which about sums up the others!)...

Ranieri's bizzare formation and selection didn't help the lad so unfair to judge him too much in this game. He's clearly a talented player and can only get better but against Chelsea we were made to look like schoolboys, the gulf in class was there for all to see.

Ndidi did OK!!

I think he did  ok. Was clearly on of the better ones in the first half. I'm confident he will still improve a lot, just give the guy some time and minutes

He was playing against Chelsea.. Perspective needed.

After 2 tough games he has looked ok.

Will be intersting to see how he goes but so far so good considering.

Thought he did well, and one of the standout displays from yesterday.

Probably for a reason!

I thought he was pretty disappointing personally but that would have been to do with the team playing like they'd only just met each other at 5pm.

There's no way I'm going to make any judgements on him though, I still believe he's going to be good long term for us but to start a thread pretending he played well when he clearly didn't is odd to me.

Considering the context (struggling side, missing players, new formation, playing very high quality League-leaders), I thought it was an excellent debut and really wonder whether those who think he was poor (we can reasonably disagree as to whether he was excellent, great or good) must have been watching a different match.

Like the look of him. Tall, quick, pretty composed on the ball.

Ive made the point before however....the introduction of good young players needs to be done properly. God knows what he must have thought yesterday, having been a hero at Genk, to come into a side where you have the likes of Pedro, Willian and Hazard passing around you for fun...what a baptism of fire!

I hope he takes this on the chin and learns about the Prem quickly, rather than letting it knock his confidence.

So far, this season we have done a lot of stuff in a very amateurish way IMO.

As a team we did not seem at ease with the new system.Probably wrong to trial it against slick passing Chelsea.

Ndidi was one of our better performers. It's worth remembering that Mendy also has few PL appearances. We will be better able to judge when they come up against less demanding opponents and have a few games to gel.We are in a better position than a few weeks ago, when DD was suspended.

Think he could be good for us, we've been crying out for a midfielder who passes the ball forward not just hoofs it forward. He definitely did that today according to his stats he made 30 forward passes and only 5 backward passes.
