Managers worth bringing in?

Recommended Posts

No brainer - N.Pearson - but for the owners most obviously.... :-\ They're not bothered it seems!

Can anyone name a manager - other than Claudio - that would have guided us to the title last season?

Let's not kid ourselves, we wouldn't have won the league with anyone else. Just look at the big clubs - United, Liverpool, Man City - and the big name managers they brought in yet they haven't won the league recently and won't this season either. Puts it into perspective for me at least...

What Ranieri did was incredible. I realise we are in serious trouble, but I doubt bringing in a new manager is going to save us, if we are to go down. Much the same as Benitez not being able to save NUFC.

He'd be here in a shot. Closer to home, better money, much bigger budget, better club. I honestly think he'd walk here if he was offered it.

At the end of the season once he's kept Burnley up yes. Not now though which is when we need him.

Grass is not always greener. Thought we had the almighty lord in CR but now look!

I'm not even sure what you're getting at.

Can only think of a few of the top of my head but discuss them below.

Guus Hiddink

Gary Rowett

Roy Hodgson

Alan Pardew

Roberto Mancini

Van Gaal

Nigel Pearson

My point is if we gave Claudio the chop many managers are out there that would bring in stability, they're the ones I can think of the top of my head too.

Only one even remotely considering on that abysmal list is Mancini and even then he would most certainly not come here.

Pardew lol

Hodgson :|

Van Gaal

I honestly think he would be here in a flash mate, even right now. He'll be acutely aware that he's probably hit the glass ceiling with Burnley. I genuine think he'd be very interested. In a sense, now's a great time to join because you can't really go wrong.

Do that makes it ok for him to send us down this season?

He he was shouting to the players and none responded!

That at is a seriously bad sign I'm afraid

Pearson didnt do bad with the same formula in his last 10 games either

I think it's a very strong possibilty we'll go for Roy Hodgson if we get rid of Claudio.

Basically, I'm not against it really. England, well what a disaster that was last summer but his recent jobs in England have been very sound at Fulham and West Brom. He was doing very well at West Brom before he left, a man of vast experience and I wouldn't write him off if we went down that road. He'd be desperate to succeed and wouldn't cost much.

As a six month job he's probably the best available. Experience, respect, worked with egos, actually uses tactics to tighten up defences, knows the league and the players. Long term, goodness no... but if the owners make a change (don't think they will) I wouldn't be averse to it.

Anyone suggesting Pearson is a massive turd.

Would love to know why! He's obviously unlikely to be brought back now re the owners and that is now probably re-affirmed after his brief time at Derby - although that too was at the hands of a fall out with an egotistical owner just because their form was not so good. Not saying we're doomed but it is fast becoming more than a remote possibility now - just as the Holloway season ended nine years ago......lest we forget! - and we know who then saved us after that....! :-)

He had a good run of games, for 10 games at shit or bust time marooned at the bottom. Often against sides that had nothing to play for or were already down.

Unfortunately, some of the players have become prima donnas - Just thinking back to how they held the club hostage with the "I'll go to a bigger club unless you double my wages.." approach, hence Ranieri trying to appeal to the owners not to keep those who were doing this.

I'm pretty sure that has something to do with it, but I hear you all the same.

If Roy Hodgson manages this club at any point I'm handing my season ticket in. I have nothing but hate for that pathetic little 'man'.

He'd probably get rid of Drinkwater and Vardy and replace them with some no mark cockneys.

9 games, 2 against relegation fodder, 5 against teams with nothing to play for. A decent run, but nothing special really when looked at in isolation

Gary Rowett for me. Perhaps with new DF. Its ok to admit mistakes but a man of CR experience to making such huge errors when we are in a relegation fight is beyond the pale.

This is probably likely to be the case to a degree too but it is up to the manager at the helm to be firm enough to eradicate this prima donna mentality from the players. Would it happen had the same miracle happened under a certain Pearson for example or is a Sean Dyche was here? This is not a Pearson 'love in' from me incidentally but I fear Claudio is not the man to deal with this situation, he's no firefighter!!
